  1. what a guy, its hard not to love or appreciate jim. his celebration really got the kop going. when players make an effort to interact with the crowd, it does encourage the support and we saw this against crawley town. he had that chance a short time earlier where he seemed frustrated not to have gotten onto the ball. he did not need an invitation for his second chance. great goal!
  2. we need to compose ourselves a little better to begin with, crawley chased everything and made it hard but a good team might have scored a second before we had even equalised. i am very happy with the overall performance, the second half we were superb and i always felt confident knowing we would be attacking the kop. i think every player who covered did a very reliable role and helped not to miss anyone majorly but we can see the difference the likes of matt palmer makes. yet sam austin coming in and doing what he can certainly helped.
  3. at least he agrees we are a good team, our first season back in the football league and we are earning further respect from opposition managers.
  4. @Ohh Tommy Johnson i just dont think the government should do everything in their power to change the rules to protect the bbc, who bully and harras people who dont have a tv licence. with some people that do still watch tv without a licence, they do go out of their way to scare people into it and the uk government dont do what the majority of people want. it should become subscription based. the bbc should finally be independent and not reliant on having friends within politics.
  5. happy belated birthday notts. ???????? did anyone turn meadow lane into a cake? if so, i want some.
  6. @Ohh Tommy Johnson stone already gets it by much of the same people. its fine to have an opinion but some of our fans make it beyond personal and just constantly find fault when there is no need. i get when fans say they prefer someone else, i acceptable people might say that hes weaker in areas but when they never seem happy with a keeper, especially one who helped us gain promotion. it just makes me mad. these so called fans usually argue that archie mair took notts up because it was him who saved the penalties. totally forgetting that slocombe played most of the games that resulted in points won and points saved, due to their performance. luke should be happy but there were concerns before we scored that he should not be so happy with, but i think this should remain private.
  7. but its still a foul even if the keeper was timewasting? if that is the case, the referee should have given an indirect free kick. you cant give a keeper a push, even if it was not that aggressive.
  8. beautiful each and every one of them, we dont seem to score average goals do we? all are well crafted, either from the passing or to the finishing itself.
  9. i like some of athletico madrids players, i dont like barcelona not with how they push players around and overspend. much like why i dont like man city. hoping atheltico win.
  10. superb header, excellent delivery. everyone else was made to stand still there was no saving that.
  11. both are in bed with each other arent they? how do you stay in power when people are freely able to report on the news and ask the questions everyone wants asking, from a company that wants the same people to force millions of people into keeping a tv licence even if they dont watch their channels or shows. its possible part of the decline in politics.
  12. Plymouth Argyle 0-1 Stoke City Swansea City 2-1 Huddersfield Town joker Cambridge United 1-1 Fleetwood Town Crewe Alexandra 0-1 Bristol Rovers Gillingham 1-3 Charlton Athletic Newport County 1-0 Barnet Halifax Town 2-0 Solihull Moors Oxford City 0-1 Maidenhead United
  13. i dont usually find him to be very funny, but this is. ????
  14. very sad news, rest in peace shane mcgowan.
  15. when @Chris mentioned this to me i thought it was a very good idea. it gives people the opportunity to support the site if they are able to afford it, whilst it gives something in return. its not nothing at all or pointless things which most would not be able to use. i think its a fair level in terms of the tiers. i will be subscribing after christmas, and i am pleased to have been someone who has donated on a regular basis to support not just pon but @Chris too.
  16. pleased for you @Piethagoram, you put heaps of effort into getting us all talking and i have nothing but respect for you. always something different and interesting being shared, so well done to you. @super_ram you are also a big part of the community, a friendly person always encouraging togetherness and banter. i love seeing you and @Fan of Big Tone going back and fourth, its like an elderly version of the chuckle brothers. i mean that in a good way, its very funny. congratulations to you both!!!
  17. crawley had it all to play for when they started so brightly and having scored, i am thankful that david mcgoldrick found the net as i feel his efforts really helped to change the outcome of the game. i felt confident that notts would be attacking the kop in the second half, but still that goal for me was the turning point. our players did very well.
  18. i hope we can make the home advantage work to our favour, it must be exciting to hear the full support from fans in the kop as the players take to the field. we just need to be alert and determined to get the points we need.
  19. i have a mixture of nerves and excitement, my boss has asked if i can stay half an hour behind which i have agreed but i will be in a rush to get to meadow lane. despite my disappointment about seeing the incidents in the last game, i still want to show my support because i do believe we have the role to play in supporting them. that is why i reserve my criticism here but i do try to be positive minded. i really hope we can show the best qualities we have as a team because we can do well, no doubt about it. maybe we need to start getting a bit of luck? we seem to have a tough break with injuries and decisions.
  20. it seems to me like they are wanting to save their budget for players by hiring a manager that could just steady their ship, but it seems a risky appointment. its not one you would be excited about for sure. i always wonder why people seem attracted to sites like this in comparison to pon which is so straight forward and clean. they probably have to use ads to pay for their hosting but its a poor user experience. still they seem to have plenty of members somehow.
  21. welcome to the pride of nottingham @magpiemad. thanks for joining us.
  22. welcome to the pride of nottingham @Laura Cameron. thanks for joining us.
  23. welcome to the pride of nottingham @samantha louise. thanks for joining us.
  24. i have seen some of wendys tweets, she seems a very supportive notts fan who enjoys sharing her views and her families match day experiences. its nice to see her granddaughter growing up around this passion, i think with family supporting the club you can feel closer to the team because you share the connection with someone else close to you. we all have our own journeys, i really respect wendy patrick for choosing to support the british heart foundation.
