Hello, to each of you! Welcome to the Pride of Nottingham, we hope you settle in well and join us for the discussions we have on Notts.

@Paul Carr, @Jeff Johnson, @Gordon and @AJ_Pie.

Hello @David Shipston and welcome to PoN, please join in the chat, you will be welcomed by a friendly bunch of like minded people.

This programme was back on air Wednesday night after the off season break with Mark Shardlow hosting, the guests were Charlie McParland, Kelvin Wilson and Seamus Donagh.

Of course amongst other things they were discussing where they thought Notts would finish, no one said they’d be automatically promoted they thought they’d finish in the playoffs, one tipped Mansfield for automatic promotion, Kelvin Wilson thought Mansfield would fall short again the others thought they’d be in he playoffs.

If Notts and Mansfield both finish in the playoffs this would bring the possibility of a Notts v Stags final at Wembley, wow can you imagine that!

It was also said that Stags had sold 5,200 season tickets is that more than Notts? If it is I’m surprised.

Morning all what are we all going to be up to this weekend? Anything exciting or mundane. I guess most exciting thing will be Notts first game at Sutton. What else will you be up to let PoN know your plans.

Today I’ll be hoping and praying the postman brings my grandsons Notts shirts so they can have them before they go on holiday tonight. It’s curry night so we are having a Chicken Biryani homemade by Mrs. T. Later I’ll watch Sheffield Wed v Southampton on the box.

Tomorrow it looks like a rainy day but hopefully it won’t be too bad for my park run ????then of course I’ll be glued to the radio to listen to Notts commentary.

Sunday is yet to be decided we are decluttering the house at the moment and selling some unwanted stuff so I might carry on with that.

Whatever you are up to I hope it’s a good one for you.

Just shows the Longevity of the careers ????

After last year's summer, where it reached 40+ in some areas, I thought we'd be in for a decent summer this year.

It hasn't been cold and the weather has been fairly warm but we've had rain practically everyday for about a month now with hints of sunshine beeming down. Not forgetting those thunderstorms that we've experienced especially when there was 4 in one week.

I'm not expecting temperatures to reach 40 again because when I was working through the heat last year, it was exhausting. Starting work at 6am and temperatures were already at 23 then leaving at 4pm with temperatures at 38. But even if for just one week we could have a decent summer where the sun is out, abit of heat and no rain. Wouldn't that be great? Especially while the kids are off school.

It's certainly caused confusion at the weather station they don't know what to say anymore they change the end of rainy days at least twice a day it seems ????

I felt a bit bored and was struggling to find something to watch. I looked through my options and noticed a TV show called 'From'. I put it on without much hope, but I felt intrigued by the fact people had to get in before it went dark.

It's quite good. I actually really enjoyed the first two episodes.

It reminds me of a spookier version of Jericho. It's quite well-written, written, and leaves you wondering why the town/village is having the supernatural.

Anyone else seen it?

I've just read a nice preview of the coming L2 season in the Graun. They've put us among the automatic promotion contenders. Not too many surprises, but nice to see anyway.

Notts County travel to Sutton United for the first game of the season. How many players, managers etc., can we name that have links to both clubs?

One that springs to mind for me is Enzio Boldewijn who played for Notts in 2018-2021 he made 112 appearances and scored 19 goals before joining Sutton United.

How many more links can we find?

Yes it’s only a rumour but it keeps us guessing,

Anyone know anything about this player?

This absolutely sucks. I remember watching "Pee-Wees Big Adventure" and "Big Top Pee-Wee" as a kid. Just the other day I sat with the kids to watch "Pee-Wees Big Holiday" and they absolutely loved it.

He brought a lot of laughter and will be missed. May he rest in peace. ????

Hi everyone. Next Saturday, the real football starts again. But more importantly, so does the PON prediction league!

For the uninitiated, every matchday I post eight (or six) fixtures, everyone predicts the results and I post the scores. And at the end of the season, the champion is crowned. This is usually @ARLukomski, but I've decided I'm going to win it this time.

I've started this thread to work out how many people would be interested in taking part this season. And I have a question too: when we decided to taste the delights of the Vauxhall Conference in 2019, we switched from six to eight fixtures to accommodate the NL. Should we revert to six now that adventure is behind us? (This is a non-binding referendum and might also depend on how many people take part.)

So who's in? ????

Anybody know when tickets for the Sutton game go on sale?  It's my second most local match after Gillingham, so it would be good to go if I can.

Ex Notts youth player sold to Liverpool

Tragic news.

What line-up should Luke Williams opt for? What will be the key areas for the Magpies to get a victory? What do you think the final score will be?

It sounds like it’s just an excuse not to play him. How would Macaulay Langstaff have an issue with fatigue? If it’s an injury, it’s exactly that, but combining the two is just funny. It sounded like Notts could have upped their game at times but didn’t.

When you become fatigued you are more likely to get an injury, and things that you would normally ignored can develop into something worse.  My bet is that is what is happening here.  These guys are proper athletes, but I bet they have been beasted these last few weeks, so if there are signs that a bit of rest is in order, then I can imagine the backroom team will be right on it.

I can see Rawlo mainly being used against more physical sides this season, he just isn’t mobile enough for a high line game and I’d fully expect Brindley to be playing on the right of a three until Tipton is up to speed. A back three of Cameron, Baldwin, Tipton would give me more confidence (although Cameron isn’t the quickest either) of not being caught out with the ball over the top.
Shrews fans were on the whole very complimentary about our side and play, they thought both offside goals were a little dubious, especially the second and were lucky to come out of the game with a draw.
Looking forward to seeing the first starting XI of the season on Saturday as I am struggling to name one.

According to Luke Williams Langstaff and Randall had a fatigue injury whatever one of those is. :huh2:

    Neither were serious.

I looked it up, supposedly it’s when a player has a slight knock on a muscle caused by playing, training a lot or both.
