  1. McDonnell 6 - Did well on corners to combat the physical threat and made a good save 2nd half

Brindley 5 - If you want a sunbed to lay on for 90 minutes tell me. On occasions the guy is on it but games like today he isn't

Rawlinson 6 - Did alright to battle Alex Wall and showed a bit of urgency in the 2nd half. Nobody gave him an option to pass to

Bird 7 - Comfortable on the ball. Always trying to get us going and provided an option when playing out from the back. A really solid game.

Kelly-Evans 5 - Not on it today. Lethargic first half and didn't get forward enough

Roberts 9 - Best player on the pitch by a country mile. Everything went through him. A delight to watch

Rose 5 - Poor passes and not effective enough. Made one good pass for the penalty that should have been but on the whole nothing startling

O'Brien 5 - Good link up play first 15 minutes then just got lost

Boldewijn 5 - Not much of note until he started to run at players in the 2nd half. Shouldn't have taken him 70 minutes to do so though

Dennis 7 - Always looked to make a run, linked up the play well and got the equaliser

Wootton 5 - Not a great game for Kyle. Poor first touch and should have easily scored after like 10 minutes

  2. We all do it, there's some classic or cheesy song that we sing but don't actually know the full words. I remember seeing the Peter Kay sketch, it reminded me - as I have been listening to the Corrs a lot lately.

    Breathless....

I always heard as "So go on, go on
    Come on leave me Bradley."

    It's actually,

    So go on, go on
Come on leave me breathless. 🤣

  3. Saw this on the 11 Freunde Facebook page, and thought it was time to revive the lookalikes thread.

(One WW is Wolfgang Wolf, manager of Lokomotive Leipzig. But which one? :D)

  4. It is already round 34, so we're slowly but surely reaching the business end of the season. Are Notts going straight back up? Will Liverpool go the season unbeaten? Can Florist at least stay out of the Premier League, for heaven's sake? And, more importantly, who will win the prediction league? There are still 378 points up for grabs, so it's all to play for ;)

As usual, write your scores and a joker below by Saturday at 3. In the event of disputes, the Sausage's decision is final.

    Middlesbrough v Luton Town

    Preston v Millwall

    Gillingham v Doncaster Rovers

    Bristol Rovers v Blackpool

    Plymouth v Crewe Alexandra

    Cambridge United v Bradford City

  5. https://sbvexcelsior.nl/excelsior-beeindigt-samenwerking-met-ricardo-moniz/

Excelsior Rotterdam has decided to terminate the contract with head coach Ricardo Moniz immediately. A nasty decision, but the club believes that something else is needed to turn the tide.

The club has decided to put an end to the collaboration because of the disappointing results and the large backlog of direct promotion. That is why we now want to focus on achieving the play-offs.

We want to thank Ricardo for his passion, drive and commitment.

  6. https://www.tremr.com/1862kb-/is-there-a-curse-on-england-goalkeepers

I wrote the above article months ago and following recent criticisms of Pickford and who should be number one for England, i thought it'd be relevant to bring it up.

Me personally, Pickford does good for England but clearly lacking confidence so would you want a low confidence keeper in a major tournament when Henderson and Pope are in good form?

  7. On the news a second ago, was a segment where Doddie Wier, Rob Burrow and Stephen Darby (who played on loan at Notts in 2010/2011) spoke about their battle with MND (Motor neurone disease).

    https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/sportsnews/article-7995207/Doddie-Weir-Rob-Burrow-Stephen-Darby-unite-discuss-living-motor-neurone-disease.html

Motor neurone diesase is a rare condition that attacks the brain and it nerves. It slowly kills the person from the inside, taking away their speech and bodily functions. It's a saddening illness, which I have witnessed during my time working in a specialist care home for people with brain injuries.

It's good to see the three sufferers teaming up to promote awareness.

  8. I don't know if this has been a topic before or not, but what was your first Notts match?

Mine was Notts Vs Hartlepool, 11th Match 2017.

It was a 2-1 win with goals by Ameobi, Grant and a own goal by Hollis.

    Attendance: 8,653

  9. Can you name your top 5 murder mystery TV shows?

They can be from anywhere around the world, but must be TV syndicated - not a film.

    1. Murder She Wrote
    2. Father Brown
    3. Columbo
    4. Monk
    5. Vera

What would yours be? There's so many it could prove to be difficult for some.

  10. Right you lot, we have midweek fixtures coming up so it's time to dust off the crystal balls again. The rules are the same as ever, kick-off is on Tuesday at 7.45pm. And remember your jokers!

  11. So for NFL fans, tonight sees the start of XFL mark 2!

Looks to be far more stable and promising than last time around.

Apart from the combine, the next couple of months normally drag for us NFL fans until the draft comes round in April.

Hopefully the XFL will offer something for fans to talk about.

Anyone else out there going to watch? What team and how did you pick them?

  12. Not much has happened this week for me, I worked monday to friday.

Had moments where I've been low and not wanted to do anything just stay at home and listen to music loudly, while no one was in.

Spent Friday night and all of yesterday with @ARLukomski. Went to Yeovil yesterday, it was one of the most interesting matches that I have seen, it was definitely worth the win.

Back to normal tomorrow. How has your week been?

  13. Do you feel that Football Radar have made any benefits for Notts since the new owners came in? Is it the future of football?

Tracking players, using stats and information to unearth future stars? Can it replace the way coaches see young players with potential?

  14. whatever the outcome of this season is, i do feel notts are progressing in the right way and this comes largely down to the staff/owners for me who are doing fantastic work.

the players seem settled, and i think saturday shown we can rely on the squad.

there might be further bumps, but i am so pleased to feel like we have a club again. its amazing to see us signing players like wootton and roberts.

does it feel like we are becoming a competitive, forward thinking club to you?

  15. Hello @chipmunx, nice to be welcoming a Barrow fan to the community here. :)

  16. McDonnell 8 - Made some important saves and including an awesome one late on

Kelly-Evans 9 - Defended resiliently and gave Remeao Hutton a hard time (Hutton was Yeovil's biggest outlet)

Rawlinson 9 - A pure champion. Great with the ball at his feet. Scored and got an assist too

Lacey 8 - Headed everything out. As cool as 10 cucumbers never mind just 1

McCrory 7 - Stuck to his responsibilites in the 1st half and resolute as the 3rd CB in the 2nd half

Shields 6 - Battled away first half before being subbed

O'Brien 8 - Controlled the flow of Notts' tempo before we had to change things around. Part of the defensive resistant second half

Crawford 8 - Ran his socks, boots and studs off and was absolutely shattered by the end. Continuenly closed down Hutton, got us going on the counter attack on occasions, linked up the play really well and should have had a penalty when through on goal

Osborne 7 - Pressed well first half against Dicko. Sometimes got his feet muddled up but linked up well with DKE and made runs with the ball into the area

Dennis 7 - Always looking for them runs and chased down the Yeovil defence

Thomas 4 - Did his best to get involved in the game and link up the play. Was stupid for the red

Brindley 7 - Part of the resistance 2nd half. Cleared it when needed

Wootton 8 - Added energy to our attack and got in some good positions resulting in a goal. Started us on the counter attack and held the ball up excellently. Got back to defend too

Rose 7 - Defended well when he came on. Resistant Rose

    A truly brilliant performance. Warriors

  17. FA Trophy - The Glovers (A)

    Team: Yeovil Town

    Date: 08/02/2020

    Where: Huish Park

What line-up should Neal Ardley opt for? What will be the key areas for the Magpies to get a victory? What do you think the final score will be?

Very good win having gone down to 9 men, it sounded like Yeovil could have caused some more trouble.

I missed the game due to having other arrangements, I think it shows that the squad can do well with the right approach to a game. The mentality leading in plays a vital role in what happens on the pitch.

It sounds like Jim O'Brien did well as the captain.

I am tempted to subscribe to the Piesplayer but I am unsure if I would be able to benefit from radio coverage.

I watch the updates via Twitter but it's incredibly slow for a site that prides itself on being "quick". It's hard to get into matches, yet I read a lot and the jist I got was the Yeovil wanted to play a bit undermining but Notts prevailed.

Winning a game with only 9 men on the pitch shows a lot of character, it's a good result.

  18. How many current squad players do you look up-to or like? Who's your favourite player purely based on their personality?

Is the same player, the one you rate the most based on their football ability?

  19. Since Lacey signed we've had 8 league games, keeping clean sheets in 5 of them. He has also allowed Michael Doyle to have more freedom in the centre, so he doesn't have to keep coming deep to collect the ball and that helps us get going on the front foot.

Rawlinson looks a lot more confident bringing the ball out of defence and has been a rock this season.

This begs the question, is there anyway back for Ben Turner into the starting x1 picture?

  20. I don't know if anyone's noticed, but I have been seeing a lot of adverts for 'Shudder' the Netflix of Horror. It took a few weeks to spike my interest properly, as the teasers and adverts wasn't that clear in my opinion.

What caught my attention was 'Creepshow', a show I loved as a kid.

    I enjoyed the films too.

However, it's cool to see so many returning classics and a subscription service catered just to horror fans. Netflix is pretty awful for just having jump scare films with a major lack of detail. Now, don't get me wrong - there are some great shows and films produced by them in the genre but very few classics.

    It's worth a look if you haven't.

Anyone seen the new Creepshow series?

  21. Hello again, it's time for the latest round of the prediction league. Kick-off is Saturday at 3pm, and remember your jokers!

    Stoke City v Charlton Athletic

    Huddersfield Town v QPR

    Burton Albion v Gillingham

    Shrewsbury Town v Milton Keynes

    Colchester United v Plymouth Argyle

    Morecambe v Mansfield Town

    Bromley v Solihull Moors

    Hartlepool United v Aldershot

  22. Which do you prefer? Your favourite superhero or villain?

  23. Who do you think will be Labours next leader?

Do you think they will do well, if given the choice who would you appoint??
