This could be an usual thread depending how you see things. I was just replying to a discussion @Fan of Big Tone started and I mentioned how Kane Hemmings missed a sitter just before Cambridge United scored their second I believe.
I used the term: He missed a "sitter".
It's a very odd way to say a player missed a golden opportunity to score.
Can you think of any more football sayings?

Did anyone tune in last week? I was away but I heard it was very poor, I enjoyed watching the Championship highlights and goals from other leagues on Five Last season, I can get Quest on Virgin but is it available on Freeview? I may be babysitting grandkids, is it worth watching?

So it seems that chairman Alan Hardy is doing everything he can to entice fans to meadow lane. Not only making 10 Home fixtures and date bring a friend for season ticket holders which just happens to be the next two home games. Yeovil Town is also a discount game making £10 for town (adults and senior £10) but he has gone one further for season ticket holders with hospitality price discounted from £30 to £20 for the Yeovil Town game on the 17th August (1945 kick off)
It seems Hardy is wanting to bring more None season ticket holders to more games by offering a discount at £10 he has also confirm £2 Saturday will return (date to be announced)
What do you guys think to this .?
Full information on the the discounts for the Yeaovil Town Game below.

So the Notts County training has also been released and I have to say I really like them. it’s smart and casual I’ve definitely got my eye on a couple of the items.
Anybody else like the training kit.?
Do you have plans to buy it.?
Below is a link to the full Notts County training range.

From what I've heard I would drop Hewitt and Brisley. Hewitt sounds like he is incapabale of completing a pass. Sounds like he's trying to work his way out of the team. His passing can be worked on but for the moment someone else needs to come in whilst we do improve his passing. Or tell him to just run a lot and let Vaughan do the passing work.
Brisley. Was at fault for all three goals yesterday. Again, we can improve his passing but it's like he's lost his head and lost what he was good at last season. Being a defender who does the dirty work. Hall must start every game. He is so comfortable with the ball at his feet. I would bring in a CB on loan to help out. Preferably not a 19 year old CB from a Prem or Champ club. Someone who has played league football.
Also would take a GK on loan to help give competition to Fitzsimons and to help him with his distribution and decision making. This is also something else that can be improved.
What do you think?

Right boys and girls, I’m currently on the ferry crossing to Ireland so likely wont have a good connection WiFi wise after today so I hope all goes well with Notts and the site and everyone has a good couple of weeks.
-
It makes me smile how everyone last season wanted Collin out and Fitzsimmons in, now they've got their wish they are saying Fitzsimmons isn't good enough.
Careful what you wish for.
-
Would the solution be signing an experienced keeper on loan? Someone to take the reigns from Fitzsimons and to push him to be more improved. Is it a simple issue that can corrected in training?
Or does the defence need strengthening itself.
If so, what position is required?
-
Simple idea for a discussion, I would like to know where you see Notts in various points in the future.
In a years time - where do you see Notts?
In three years time - where do you think Notts will be?
In five years time - where will Notts be?
In ten years time - where do you believe Notts will be?
Let's try to predict what PON members think, I do believe this can be an interest discussion so please do join in. I'm very curious to see where people believe Notts will be and go into as much detail as possible if you can.

I wasn't planning on making this a series but hey.
Fitzsimons
Defending
Midfield
Strikers
Creating chances
What players need replacing in the team and what players do we need in the loan market

So the winner of this weeks caption this chosen by @super_pie is none other than ... @Fan of Big Tone With this fantasic caption well done.
On 09/08/2018 at 06:52, Fan of Big Tone said:It’s Kevin Nolan’s birthday party at Meadow Lane and the players enjoy a game of musical statues.

Well 24 hours has elapsed since the Cambridge game what’s everybody’s thoughts and feelings looking back.?
-
Does anyone like any movies that are considered flops?
I would be interested in seeing what PON members can come up with.

So with Notts missing out on promotion last season and a new squad book makers make Notts them odds on favourite to go up my questions are simple ..
will you be haveing a cheeky bet
Can County go up .. is this our season are the bookies right.?
-
Well both our star signings Hemmings and Dennis has now missed sitters in the opening two matches.
Let's hope things get better, at least the chances are being created I suppose, that's a good sign, isn't it?
-
So Monday is the start of the week but on Pon it means guess the magpie.
The magpie will be revealed on Friday before the County match.
Godd luck everyone

Based on a mean of 5
Fitzsimons 4 Confidence shot to pieces with Brisley's impersonation of a central defender. Goals conceded well taken by Cambridge players
Tootle 4.5 Another quiet match but out of all the back 4, the one to escape without any harsh criticism
Duffy 4 Yes, scored a goal and another run in with the ref, as per usual.
Brisley 2 Never marked Brisley so badly before, but his performance alone cost us the match
Jones 3.5 Caught out of position too many times, mentally switches off
Vaughan 5 Seems an obligatory caught in possession at least once a match but he is a neat footballer with pass to feet
Hewitt 2 Pass completion rate the lowest yet, if you want to give possession away, Hewitt is your man. He is Nolan's blind spot
Thomas 5 Struggling to get into games at times but has a neat pass
Boudewijn 7 Stunning run and goal but strike partners let him down. Set up Stead on a plate, only for Stead to miss a certain goal inexplicably shooting into side netting
Stead 3.5 Reminders of Jason Lee's swansong. Leggy
Hemmings 5 Guilty of a terrible miss, overall holds possession well but some players don't have a natural strikers instinct, is he one?
Subs
Husin 6.5 Some class touches and passes and tried to get into shooting positions
Dennis 5 Missed a great heading chance and seems to wander offside a la McParland
Kellett n/a

Think of a family member who has an interesting job, however one which you would find more challenging than them but somehow they cope perfectly fine.
What job would you be the most terrible at doing?
