So with the straight red card on Saturday against Northampton being shown goalkeeper Ryan Schofield it means he will serve a three match ban as it stands.

Notts have not at this minute In time appealed against the card and more than likely won’t do.

So with that said it’s over to former number one Ross Fitzsimons to return to the number one shirt for at least three game.

With that said I know a number of people have some concerns about Ross being back especially based on his statistics this season.

But based on his performances on Saturday when he came on I have some hope he will play well In the games he will get between the sticks.

Saturday he looked a lot sharper and more confident making some quality saves and looked for me a different player.

I know the next three games are key and if it goes wrong things can happen we all know what could happen but that has to be put to the back of our minds.

I know now with the suspension for Ryan means Ross starts but what about a substitute goalkeeper I know it’s not a must but it is a bit of security knowing you have back up goalkeeper to come on if any thing happens.

The gaffer joined Matt Tootle in the media room and gave him his pre Match press conference.

Table after the last round;

Saturday's games:
Millwall v West Bromwich Albion
Sheffield Wednesday v Aston Villa
AFC Wimbledon v Accrington Stanley
Bradford City v Doncaster Rovers
Milton Keynes Dons v Lincoln City
Port Vale v Crewe Alexandra

Mine:
Millwall 1-3 West Brom
heffield Wednesday 1-1 Aston Villa
AFC Wimbledon 2-1 Accrington Stanle
Bradford City 0-2 Doncasster Rovers (Joker)
MK Dons 1-0 Lincoln City
Port Vale 1-2 Crewe

So after today’s straight red we looking to be with our loan goalkeeper Ryan Schofield for three of our next six games unless Notts appeal the red card.

After the game myself and Chris saw Ryan and he said that there was hardly any contact made and the player made the most of.

So we are going to be without Ryan for the next three of the six remaining games will we miss him.?

While the lads were getting there half time wedge of orange there was some Northampton substitutes on the pitch but what caught my eye was the picture below.

Got to say from a distance it looks a bit iffy ????????????2015858A-7376-41A8-A539-B2F2FFB2D297.jpeg

So I ask this quite a lot but can we take any positives from today’s game against Northampton.?

So who’s heading to Crewe this Saturday to cheers on the lads.?

Alan Hardy provided the evening post with a update on the development of the sale of the club.

saying the un named party are carrying out further due dillagence this week as the process takes another step towards the sale be final.

For the full interview and to see how’s it going clink the link below.

So next Tuesday Macclesfield take on Exeter at home in their game in hand.

Macclesfield sit bottom of league 2, a point behind Notts who have 36 points the same as Yeovil who have been dragged into the dog fight as well.

If Macclesfield win they leap frog county and Yeovil by two point and out the relegation zone.

So next Tuesday I am definitely on loan to Exeter for 90 minutes. Anyone else.?

So in just one word describe our January loanee from the red side of Nottingham Forest Virgil Gomis

21B4C3B1-AF17-4326-8D6C-1BE5668A1825.png

So with this season drawing to a close and with only 7 games left including a home tie against automatic promotion chasing mk Dons.

We still have to face

Stevenage - Away

Northampton - Home

Crewe - Away

mk Dons - Home

crawley - Away

grimsby - Home

swindon - Away

So if the new ownership dose happen do you think the new owner will have the score board repaired.?

So if you could retain/give a contract extension to just one member of current Notts County squad for next season who would it be.?

So I know we have 6 games to play and fighting relegation and the situation concerning the club being sold but as anyone already renewed there season ticket for next season 19/20.

So yesterday it was made official that Alan had excepted a offer for the club subject to due diligence with a unnamed party.

Also he has the funds to guarantee the player and staff wages for the month of April and will be given time to pay HMRC.

But am i the only one who’s a bit worried in case the deal falls through.?

Mine would have to be Carl Dickinson running from his own half, up the pitch to help his winger out, only to put his cross into the Kop against Swindon last season.

Schofield 5 seemed slow  to spot the danger from that short cross along the 6 yd line. Otherwise untroubled to that point. Took a sending off for the team 2nd half from that atrocious back pass from Stubbs

Toots 5.5 Some real rusty passes continued from the Stevenage game

Duffy 6.5 Used his experience and with his trade mark dive too. Dug Stubbs out of at least one hole

Stubbs 4 Didnt expect his football skills to let the team down.

Milsom 5.5 struggled with the wide man. Some good work when down to 10 men

Rose 7.5 A change for the sponsors to call the MotM correctly. All energy and closing down

JO'B 5 Disappointed when losing a ball that could have created a second.

Doyle 5 Maybe tough marking, but why is he doing the dead ball delivery?... We were caught for Northampton's first by the midfield hole not being covered

Enzio 4

Hemmings 5 Never really pressurizes defenders, always gives up rather than chase on the shoulder. Credit for the goal, not much else

Stead 4 Set up 2nd well, ref gave nothing but his legs are going

Subs

Bird 6.5 Showed why he shouldnt have been dropped versus Barclay. Got stuck in

CMS 7 Dont know how far than humdinger was away, but really offers effort and a shot

Fitzsimons 6 Some point blank saves, not sure about the free kick. did it go through the wall?

So finally Spurs have opened there new 62,062 stadium after being nearly 6 month behind schedule needing Spurs to play there home game at Wembley. A ceremony was held tonight to officially open the new stadium and Spurs will play there first league game at the new stadium tonight against Crystal Palace.

If you had to explain what it was like to be a Notts fan this season and sum up the 2018-19 campaign to an outsider, in a paragraph or more what would you say?

Game 41 - Cobblers (H)

Team: Northampton Town

Date: 06/04/19

Where: Meadow Lane

What line-up should Neal Ardley opt for? What will be the key areas for the Magpies to get a victory? What do you think the final score will be?

  • It was hard to bypass the poor officiating, the lack of control really became apparent and it made things a little unnecessary.

I felt the game was quite entertaining, Notts started off brightly, but as @Magic magpie pointed out - Powell is a powerhouse for them and he looked a threat. I felt his end product was a waste and then boom, he scored! It was very disappointing. The napping was quite obvious and it just seemed to drag. I didn't see the sending off, I don't feel anyone should be harsh on Ryan Schofield though.

Mistakes happen and I heard Les Bradd talking to him after the game, he mentioned the Northampton player ran into his hand and Les felt the player dived.

It was just one of them, but there's a lot of positives, yes, we didn't get many shots on target but hey we scored twice!

I'd always take a point when 10 men defended so bravely!

Wow what a game today was the sending off the free kick that lead to the goal Notts going ahead .. bloody Nora what a game.

The first half was positive we scored first but unfortunately we fell asleep and Powell who is a power house and a quality player scored the equaliser.

The second half we conceded and the card and from there I thought we defended bloody well had the mentality of sticking together the players clears attempts of the line and played well.

But we did scored stead ran his legs off and Hemmings so impressed with him but we never gave up we kept going and going.

John stead this morning gave his pre match thoughts before Notts face Northampton in tomorrow’s must win.

BBC Nottingham sport earlier sent out a tweet saying that the sale of the magpies had taken a step closer an un named party has arrived in Nottingham to do due diligence at meadow in preparation for the possible sale/purchase of Notts County. 418771AD-B3D7-4461-8C2F-D7C2AFDF5157.png

So the magpies return home to meadow lane as prepare to face Northampton in a must win if we are to avoid the drop.

So who’s going to the lane to support the lads.?
