It's a poor start to the season but things will improve, the squad's got a lot of work to do but it will turn around.
Today was more promising, just weak defending cost the match.
-
I thought Notts played quite well, just not defensively.
The passing was much better, creatively Notts looked good but it's not just Brisley. Duffy, Jones and Tootle didn't play together, they played too far up for me and Cambridge thrived on attacking down the left side because Jones wasn't in position. Things will improve, early signs are good.

Disappointed because people will blame Kevin Nolan.
The defenders lost this game and Fitzsimons playing woefully since being given the number one shirt. We need to sign a keeper, he's failing to take the shirt.
Fans are blaming Nolan but I would agree the fault lies with the defenders and Fitzsimons.

From The Mirror:
After bursting on to the scene as a flying teenage winger with Notts County, Jermaine Pennant has seldom been out of the news.
He gained a high-profile move to Arsenal aged just 15 for £2m - a then-record for a teenager.
But trouble seemed to follow around Pennant - raised on a tough Nottingham estate - and a drink driving ban meant he became one of the first footballers to play with an electronic tag.
That did not stop him having a good career with the likes of Liverpool, Stoke and Portsmouth - and there was even the time Real Madrid bid £3.5m for him.
With a warts-and-all new book 'Mental' set to be published, we look at Pennant's career, life and marriage...
If you fancy reading further here's the link to the article.
Is this something you'd consider buying? Let PON know.

With Grealishs future in doubt he started In the Aston Villa squad that have beaten Hul City 3-1 in the sky bet championship with Jack Grealish being withdrawn at the 81st minute to a standing ovation and the fans singing he’s one of own a clear sign that they don’t want him to leave. But with Chelsea and Spurs waiting in the wings to lure the young man away with a offer Villa can’t refuse.
Will he leave.?
Who will he go to.?
Should he leave .?
Give us your thoughts as we count down to Thursday when the windon slams shut

It seems that Skeggy fc are about to go bust as the official twitter sent out a tweet declaring that they were turning of the flood lights for good.
A few minutes later Alan’s Hardy responded with “wtf Dm me” since then there has no further public tweets but the same happend with ilkeston and he's managed to turn that around.
so could Alan Hardy be wanting to acquire another football team and save one of the popular sea side football teams Skeggy fc.
Has anybody heard any more about this at all .. thoughts guys.?

I am not talking about form, work rate or anything like that.
I would like to know which Notts player is the best purely based on skill a lone. Who would you name and why?
-
So the pre season and the opening day is over my question has Fitzsimmons done enough to convince you he is good enough to be Notts County’s number one.
-
Time to have another moan about things which annoy you the most! What trivial things irritate you??
-
-
Do you feel Match of the Day is better for having pundits or do you feel it would benefit from being a strictly highlight reel show?
The benefits would be longer highlights.
The downside would be the talking points, loss of good analysis etc.
-
Great video here bu Notts fan Nick Holmes!!
What was it like for you to be back at Meadow Lane? What was your feels when the players went out onto the pitch?

Did anyone see Notts TV’s Team Talk? Whilst discussing Notts’ signings Charlie said he was surprised that Notts had signed David Vaughan because he didn’t fit in with Nolan’s style of play, he said Vaughan likes to get the ball and slow the game down and spray passes to the wings, whereas Notts usual style is to get the ball up early to the front men and play off the knock downs. He was very complimentary of Vaughan and said he never gives the ball away and likes to play “pure football”.
What do you think is he right, will Vaughan fit in or will we change our style of play to accommodate Vaughan.

Easy one, which Premier League manager do you think will get the sack first?
Name the manager and why below.

I haven’t seen anyone mention the miss by Kristian Dennis against Colchester, Enzio put a great cross in which flashed across the goal, Dennis connected about 5/6 yards out but only managed to put it over the bar, it was fairly late in the game and it would probably have been the winner. Did I see it right? Do you think it will affect his confidence?

I started a discussion a short while ago about if members still used and owned a PC, whilst I read that discussion and all the interesting comments made. I suddenly thought, mobile phones have literally placed most items you could ever possible think of. As I sat looking at my tablet, I looked at my watch and thought. Do people still wear this things?
Another question for PON members, do you still wear a watch?
To make it interesting why not share a picture of it below your reply? That would be different.

It's that time if year again, just days away from the start of the new season, and of course that means a new PON prediction league!
It doesn't seem like 5 minutes since last season finished, but here we go again!
The rules for this season will be the same again as the last couple. It'd be fantastic to see more people than ever playing regularly this season, so for the benefit of those who may not have taken part previously but are considering it, here's how it works.
Every week I'll post a thread with six EFL fixtures. 9 times out of 10 this will consist of 2 championship, 2 league 1 and 2 league 2 games, although occasionally that changes if it's an international break.
All's you have to do is reply with your predicted scores for each game.
You get 3 points for a correct score and 1 for a correct result. So for example if I predict Notts to beat Colchester 2-1 and we do win 2-1 I get 3 points. If Notts still win but it finishes 1-0, I get 1 point.
You also choose one game each round as your "joker". Choose wisely as any points you win on this game are doubled!
All Saturday fixtures will be posted on a Wednesday, and any Tuesday night fixtures will be posted on a Sunday.
I try to post the round up and updated table on a Sunday.
So without further ado, here are the fixtures for this Saturday:
Bristol City v Nottingham Forest
Wigan Athletic v Sheffield Wednesday
Accrington Stanley v Gillingham
Coventry City v Scunthorpe United
Northampton Town v Lincoln City
Swindon Town v Macclesfield Town
Good Luck!

Which PON members would make your starting XI?
Simple one, just name the members who would form your team.
-
this closes on 31st August, I can see their being only 1 incoming. But which area do we need an extra body. for me it would be in defence.
everyone has different views on this. -
Its official Neal Bishop has put pen to paper at the One Call Stadium. He was very good at Notts but don't think he would have been the right fit for us next season. Happy to let this one slide. Typical of the Radfords to try and top us but lets face it ... Kane Hemmings > Neal Bishop. Thoughts?
