who would you say is the best signing from january?

i think all of the seasons have been decent, they have helped the issue mostly is the bad form of the pre existing players but who for you stands out the most. let us know why too!

So with the 3-1 win over Carlisle Notts are off the bottom of the league 2. If we can win at home on Saturday against morecombe it could be permanent. I know it’s not much and could be short term and not out the relegation zone but surely it gives us hope. With a bit of a morale booster which guys we all deserve a bit of. 416F801E-1F32-47B3-B25A-4EB714FDF424.png

Nott have finally got three points in the league as we have beaten Carlisle. Hemings gets two goal giving him 12 goals of the season one being a penalty his second time in two game. A error from schofeild gave Carlisle hope but Colin’s came up for a free in injury time  county clear the ball and Alexandra runs it through midfield in to an empty net and makes it 3-1 .. job done and  Carlisle are the first team Notts have beaten both home and away

What line-up should Neal Ardley opt for? What will be the key areas for the Magpies to get a victory? What do you think the final score will be?

When Newport completed the great escape and stayed up in 2016-17:

At this stage they had, PLD 35, W6, D11, L18 and had 29 points. The same record and number of points we have at the moment after 35 games

They were also on their 3rd manager of the season and had rebuilt the squad heavily in January like us

Birmingham at this stage last season (2017-18)

PLD 35, W8, D6, L21. They had spent heavily in the summer (like us) and it failed. The squad's fitness had been an issue all season (like ours).

They were also onto their 3rd manager, they had struggled to score goals and their goal difference was in the -30's (like ours).

Both managed to stay up

Newport's run in their last 11 games: WLDLWWWLWLW - Newport finished on 48 points. 19 points from last 11 games.

Birmingham's run in their last 11 games: LLWWWDLLWLW - Birmingham finished on 46 points. 16 points from last 11 games

This season is gone and we are relegated. I'm not gonna even bother going into the off-field issues.

The problem is, the no-hopers that we have contracted (and there are a ton of them) are going to be with us next season. We will be in the national league, with 2 squads on L1 wages that can't perform to National League standards. It will be another 1-2 years before we can offload these leeches, and who knows if we have any money left by that point to be able to build a squad worthy of this club.

Apologies for the depressing outlook, just can't see it any other way.

Game 36 - The Robins (A)

Apparently there's still one more signing to come for Notts...

Been rumoured with NZ'er Kwabena Appiah. Lets bloody hope not. I watch a lot of the A-league, and this guy is tonk. Plenty of pace, no ability.

Using just one word sum up Notts County midfielder Rob Milsom.

C816478A-E09C-4F8F-8D85-27440A76ADBC.png

i think hes done well but why do we always start him when hes fit? he should have been the first off today, he won very little and his lack of pace made notts suffer.

in the first half he was amazing, by the 45 minute he seemed knackered.

What will everyone be doing to get over today’s results.?

Based on a mean of 5

Schofield 4 Was completely lost on an early cross, needed some big saves but never delivered

Rose 5 Always good for the long throws

Stubbs 5 Always harder to assess  when stood behind the goal, better distribution than his partner

Barclay 4 Poor passing

Milsom 4 Lack of pace evident

Doyle 4 Dead ball delivery poor... never got going to influence the game

O'Brien 3 Perhaps his worst game, nothing ran for him

CMS 4 Effort yes, but there was no real game plan to get him into the game, Gave away a needless penalty

Enzio 3 Is found out when you need him to graft. Didnt help Milsom defensively

Stead 4 Last legs of once a good player

Gomis 3 He can go back now... touch is hopeless, not going to make it despite his pace

Subs

Hemmings 3 Scored the penalty but touch and effort not there

Vaughan 3 Short time on but didnt run back when lost possession...

Consistent theme is whether Milsom's aerial weakness is continually being exploited.

What was Barclay doing for the break away goal... Just not good enough

How closely do you follow the Notts County Under-23s?

They take on pretty high-profile opposition from time to time, with the likes of Newcastle, Leeds and Southampton in the Premier League Cup.

Do you think some of them should get a look in the first team this term or are things too high-pressure at the minute?

Let's get your thoughts.

Perhaps, when we are perceived to be losing 30k a week, we have players on comfortable contracts, not willing to move?

Rumours that Hewitt was interesting Salford City (Husin likewise with Orient) ; (though such a move could still take place, as EFL to National League. transfer and loans can still be allowed.

Duffy Brisley and Jones may also be pigeon holed , perhaps waiting for contracts to be paid up or to be loaned to Vanarama clubs?

For anyone who hasn't got Netflix or has heard of this series. Oh my word you will not be disappointed. Absolutely brilliant series that highlights where it all went wrong from the Premier League to being relegated to the third tier of English Football.

Gives an insight to what football is like behind the scenes from the Chief Executive to the youth academy and the fans.

Urge anybody and everybody to give it a try. You won't regret it.
