Jimmy Sirrel Stand    Anyone else get nervous at Bury?

The defence played bloody fantastic against Bury and looked solid. Brisley , Duffy and Bird as a back three often rewarded each other for their work giving each other hand shakes and pats on the back ... little things can really boost a players morale.

But at any moment when Bury went on the attack thought that Fitzsimmons would fluff the game and loose it for us? I did.

We need a keeper in January full stop. Numerous times he should have come to collect the ball and didn't. The defence don't trust him.Β I am sure he's a cracking lad but there isΒ so many mistakes in his game that need development and we need someone with experience to rely on before it's too late.

Been saying this since he took the No. 1 shirt and to be fair some of it is not all his fault but if we had conceded you couldn't have blamed the defence yesterday as they were absolutely faultless.

Match Talk    Notts 0-0 Bury .. keeps us three points behind

So Notts got a 0-0 draw at home to Bury with both Cambridge (toilet seat team) and Macclesfield losing has helpedΒ Notts.Β 

We may be bottom and three point adrift but if we lost it would have been worse.Β 

With a 3 point gap I feel it’s back in our hands now and with a few more results we can survive.Β 

Hopefully todays result will now spread confidence through the team and hopefully give us theΒ lift that we need.Β

    • I felt very disappointed today, almost to the verge that I felt there was no hope.

    I came home and spent time with my family trying my hardest to forget about the result, it's difficult because I do care a lot about Notts County. I still can't put into words how I feel or what can be done to resolve this issue, this will be a real nightmare for Neal Ardley.

    The performance was off from the start, I don't see how anyone could say we played well for the first 10 minutes.

    Macclesfield looked good and well drilled, from the moment the game began they appeared like a side which had a point to prove and this made it hard for Notts to get a feel for the game. Their first goal was always going in, nothing Ross Fitzsimons could have done and I felt sorry for him. Why is nobody attempting to throw themselves in the line of the ball? It's all the basic things this Notts squad is struggling with.

    I felt Macclesfield should have left having won us easily, yet pulling level allowed us to give them a game and after that goal we didn't do anything to go 2-1 up. We just stopped and conceded.

    The most disappointing thing for me is how I feel Macclesfield seemed happy to take the three points by leading 1-0, even after we scored it looked like they was happy with a draw. Reckless play gave the game away, it's so frustrating because it should have made the players respond.

    Confidence and a lot of other things are killing us off.

    I'm sure none of us expected an amazing scoreline, but a loss was certainly not hoped for by Notts fans. Its getting closer to the end of the season and they need to get their act together.

    Well it’s the night before Notts v Bury and I’m still not sure if we can win this or not it’s not going to be easy it’s going to be a hard game.Β 

    Im hoping the few days Neal has had with the team he can do something .. but it’s confidence we need and that something that will come from winning games.Β 

    Tommorow we need to go for it and tighten up at the back if we do that we may stand a chanceΒ

Jimmy Sirrel Stand    The last 10 minutes again ..!!

So Notts go down 2-1 to Macclesfield in a must win game and yet again in the last 10 minutes is where we fell again.. but according to commantators and sky sport the defence could have been to blame and poor Ross was StrandardΒ after another deflection defence errror.Β 

So my question is the defence to blame.?

Also if we sort out defence will we sort out the last 10 minute slip.?
