Notts County goalkeeper Fabian Spiess is training with Liverpool

Fabian Spiess is training with Liverpool
Notts County goalkeeper Fabian Spiess has been training with Premier League side Liverpool.
Spiess has been with the Reds for the last three days having and is hoping to impress manager Brendan Rodgers.
The German has found appearances limited at Meadow Lane this season because of the form of Northern Ireland international Roy Carroll.
He has played two games for the Magpies this season but they have come in the Johnstone Paint Trophy.

They were both victories against Mansfield and Scunthorpe.
Spiess was also sent out on loan to Bristol Rovers in December and played three games for the Pirates and remained undefeated.
Since moving to Notts in 2011, Spiess has only made 16 appearances, 14 of them starts, the other two have come as a substitute.
He is highly rated at Meadow Lane and if any club were to make a move for him, the Magpies would be entitled to compensation because he is under the age of 24.

One of these will be joining us in L2 next season. Any preference? I'd prefer Grimsby myself. Closer to Notts. Less of a threat than Rovers I reckon.

@Cobby
Well done mate, this is been a long time due and you will probably feel others deserved it more but I would say don't underestimate your contributions, including the hours it takes to film and edit the 'Meet the Fan' feature. Also, your posts are very informative.
Please take the time to congrulate this months winner folks!
Special mention to @PTID1862, @hissingdwarf and @DangerousSausage - Another three who have done PON proud.
You Pies!

Here we are, it's the final game and I really can't believe how quickly time has flown by.
The start of the season was brilliant, even now I am pleased it wasn't 'dull' despite hoping that next year we just focus on improving from here. If we stay up great! If we go down, let's really get behind the club and attempt to move forward together.
Gillingham are the team I felt we had a good chance winning (under Derry). I felt Yeovil and Crawley would also be games we picked up the maxium amount of points. However, I think Moniz will instil some spirit into the lads to go out and perform well. I want to see us win convincingly, I can't handle another Oldham game like we had last season.
They will be up for it no doubt but it's up for us to turn that around and end the season on a positive.
Hopefully thanks @DangerousSausage they will be reminded about how nice Nottingham and Skegness is! Compared to Crawley and Brighton.
Haha!
I think we will narrowly win 0-1.
What do you think? Possible score prediction? #Discuss

I managed to finish top of the Notts County league and 124th out of 35,000. Very happy with that. I was way behind at the end of August but stuck with it. I really enjoyed it. Learned a lot about the various clubs and players.

I was watching Rotherham's pitch invasion after they stayed up last night. Why? Because you are less rubbish than 3 other sides? Because staying up is the height of your ambition? I find the fact that Notts are in yet another relegation dogfight depressing to be honest. There's nothing to celebrate. I know others will disagree, mostly those that will be running around the various grounds up and down the country this coming weekend!

What do you think next season will mean to the club + ourselves as fans? How do we move on from this season in your opinion?
Obviously we don't know currently what division we will be playing in, however likely it's going to be League Two. I say that not to be negative but because I have accepted our current situation, it will take a miracle to get to wins in our last two games (although it's possible) - it's highly unlikely.
Next season for me we must be competitive and difficult to beat. If we are in League One mid table! However, most likely is the fact we will be sat in the basement division and we must at least aim for the play-offs. Personally, if it was down to me I would challenge for 1st-3rd and no messing about at that. It would send a solid message to the fans, so it's important we access what types of players will be arriving before the start of the season in order to achieve the targets.
In League Two we will be a very attractive outlet for experienced players and youngsters, we should build with a view that the players signed can at least get three seasons here and that they will progress if and when we do.
We need to get the fans onside and all pulling in one direction, I suppose I must accept that this requires the 'however' possible attitude but that said I am not a fan of open letters which aren't very 'open' at all.
Moving on just means to 'stabilize' for me and the only way this will be possible is to address/learn from the mistakes already made.
What about you?

What songs should I put on my playlist for the drive back on Sunday after the game against Gillingham?
I want people to suggest both a song for if we win and survive in the league, but also a song for if the worst happens!

Evening all,
I thought I would finally register and join in with some of the discussions which are to be had around PON. I will be making the daunting last away trip on Sunday, hoping that we can retain our league one place.

Good afternoon!
My name is Sam and as you can guess im from London!
Originally a Fulham fan I moved to Nottingham in December and have adopted Notts as my local team.
Really enjoying the ups and downs so far, mainly just downs to be honest.. It seems my arrival has been bad luck!
None the less I am devoted to the cause now, and looking forward to getting a season ticket next year regardless of what happens Sunday!
YOU PIES

Colchester vs Swindon - If Colchester win, they move out of the relegation zone. They are unbeaten in 2. Swindon haven't won in 3. Colchester fought back from 2-1 down to win 3-2 at Fleetwood. I think they'll win this one. 2-1.
Colchester vs PNE - PNE need a win to secure promotion. I can't see Colchester denying them. 0-2.
Crawley vs Coventry. Coventry were well beaten by Crewe at home on Saturday. Crawley were unlucky to lose 4-3 at Peterborough. Both sides aren't in the best of form but Crawley are tough to beat at home. 2-1.
Crewe vs Bradford - Crewe have impressed me. They have a never say die attitude. Bradofrd have nothing to play for but I think they will turn up. Home win though. 2-1.
Gillingham vs Notts County. Notts have not impressed me even after Saturday's home win. Doncaster have packed up and gone on holiday. Gillingham will turn up and will win IMO. 2-1.
Swindon vs Leyton Orient. Orient must be wondering how they got here. Their talented squad must turn up and I think they will. 1-2.
So by my reckoning, these 4 teams will go down:
Leyton Orient
Colchester
Notts County
Yeovil

The PONcast is automatically beamed straight into many podcast directories and when this happens, Itunes - Iphones/Ipads, Andorid Apps and Microsoft etc will all show case this.

I hope you get the points.
We are in a bizarre situation that, for us, our last four matches are meaningless. We are fourth: cannot finish higher or lower. It looks like Sheffield United in play offs unless Chesterfield can overhaul them.
We have Preston away tomorrow which given our current form is a certain loss although if we win it could mean we avoid MK Dons being in the play offs.
We must finish the season strongly though so have to win our last two games which are Colchester away next Tuesday and Leyton Orient at home on the last day. If we do this I guess that will help you massively.
Best wishes to all,
Mickeyr
