I was reading on another forum about these and I decided to have a look at them, I was amazed how cheap they were, after a bit of research I eventually went for this one LINK at just under ΓΒ£12 its very good. It records footage onto an SD card (not included) and has a screen to view the footage on playback, it records sounds as well if you wish, when the SD card is full it will write over it from the beginning. It would be very handy to have if involved in an accident and could be used in evidence to prove who was at fault. I believe some insurance companies give a discount if you have one. I thought it was worth a punt for that price, has anyone else got one?

Prepare for the best here, which I think would be safe to say making sure we don't concede many.
I'd hope we could leave with a draw, yet I don't see us winning. This said, Bristol have lost to some sides you would have expected to be slaughtered themselves and other teams similar to us have gotten draws. I don't have that feeling, I think they will win but it wouldn't be the end of the world or requiring 'Derry' out comments.
With the lack of wingers (quality) I think our chances will be largely limited.
I see the game ending 2-0 in their favour.
Thoughts?
Am I the only one that likes them.To me christmas dinner wouldn't be complete without them but other family members disagree.

Well as recommended by @notts-joe Γ°ΕΈΛΓ°ΕΈΛΓ°ΕΈΛ I've watched the first four episodes so far and it is quite humorous.
It's like a b movie version of the walking dead.
Some funny characters as well. Murphy is cool and when the doc was presumed dead in the fourth episode I was not impressed. Glad he made it out alive as he is a great character.

If you can watch this and comment, you'll be a knight within PoN's ranks. I probably should be mindful when using the word 'highlights', I see the club appear not to have socially shared this yet (unlike normal). Probably because of this reason but if this gains more than five comments I will be happy.
It makes for difficult viewing, what do you make of Bristol City?

I see Nottingham RFC are doing really well, I read somewhere that if they get in the Premiership they will be back at Meadow Lane, I like to see them doing well but we don't want them back on our pitch.

Mrs. H. knows what I like, she got me this great notts County watch, now I will be able to point at it and shout at the ref when we are 1-0 up and 2 minutes into injury time in the style of Sir Alex Ferguson.

Cockney rhyming slang for the matchday chatroom's favourite anatomical part!

So, links between the 2 clubs. Β Immediate thoughts go to the Warnock era, and the 3-way tussle for promotion around 1990. Β Eventually a title race between City and Rovers, with us taking the Wembley route past Tranmere Rovers. Β Remember the days and players as though it was yesterday - Supermarket end at Bolton anyone?!
Β
Players - one standout candidate for me is Martin Kuhl, a short stint at Meadow Lane remembered for one "Barn"storming reason I am sure you recall!

Special mention for Abe Akinbiyi too Β :-)

My vote would go to Roy Carroll, he showed how committed he is when he flew back from an International to play for Notts. What a man!
He's put in some fantastic performances since joining us and has saved us numerous times.
So who would be your player of 2014 they don't have to be playing for us now there are probably some strong candidates from last years great escape.

I've just been reading another site where by a fan says;
"Everyone seems to be sucking up to him, but he basically is leaving because he wouldnt be first pick anymore, but he would have done them the favour of signing up for a few more million quid had they asked in the summer, when he thought he would still get to play whenever he wanted."
Supposedly he has a ego, although I can relate to the real reasons he's leaving or at least it's how I see it. You may feel differently?
He's leaving because he knows his best playing days are behind him, he retired from international duty when he still is one of our better players to focus on his league career. This suggest to me at the stage of the decision Steven realized something was different, that he's past his peak and that he wanted to prolong his career with the team he supports.
Nothing remotely selfish about that and I see no signs of a massive 'ego' which the title suggested.
Steven Gerrard is Liverpool FC, for me he is still worth his place in what is a very poor team considering the amount of money they have spent and the way they play.
I can relate to him not wanting fans to see him as 'past it' and I think it's an incredible sign of respect to not be selfish by joining another English club where he is settled, which probably would offer more than LA Galaxy (I'm specifically speaking money) and by refusing to play against them. This isn't solely because he wants to be remembered as a 'legend' and a 'great player' but because I guess it would hurt him.
What do you think about the Gerrard retirement saga? I am really curious! Do you think he's being selfish? #debate

Supposedly occurring to "Mike McCarthy" on Twitter and the ThisisNottingham website, Wolves striker Jake Cassidy is still on our managers radar. He wrote "Notts County manager Shaun Derry confirms interest in bringing Jake Cassidy back to Meadow Lane. Says McLaughlin & Laing deals difficult."
It doesn't do anymore than state the obvious really, getting McLaughlin and Laing back would always be difficult.
Forest are going to need to balance their squad and I can see Laing making his way into their side on rotation due to their transfer embargo, whereas Pearce seems to support McLaughlin so they're very unlikely.
Would you take Jake Cassidy back?

Β HeyselΒ Stadium Disaster. A Day that Shook the World.

On, 29 May 1985, before the European Cup final between Juventus and Liverpool 39 Juve fans died and many more were injured as a result of an attack by LiverpoolΒ hooligans.Β

This year will be the 30th anniversary of this largely forgotten horror.

I for one would like to do something to mark the occasion, and show the world that we do remember and that English football has moved on from that darkest of days.

It may seem a long way off, but it will take time to arrange a fitting tribute, so let me have your thoughts.

Should we do somethingΒ

If so do it as Notts or invite all league clubs

Shaun Derry eager to introduce young talent into his Notts County side

Derry has shown he is not afraid to give youth a chance, having given striker Bishop his debut against MK Dons on Boxing Day.

I know many will say that their ideal striker is someone who can score 15-20 goals per season. These players don't grow on trees and often they have to be developed, nurtured and often patience is required.
For me the idea striker is one that can partner multiple players.
I'd settle for a player who can score 8-10 but can also assist and create play. The traditional striker is somewhat a thing of the past and we will be unlikely to find a striker who's got pace and can bang goals in for fun. If we did manage to find this player, it wouldn't be long before they left us in my opinion.
Realistically which players out their are your ideal signing as a striker?
I'm not sure if I can name someone, ideally myself I'd prefer them to be within the age range of 20-24 years of age. I'm not sure Notts could sign a lad called "Rory Turner" but in my ideal world we could. I'll have a think of others!

I have noticed that there is a feature for ex players. Would it be possible to expand it into a 'Hall of fame' whereby former staff could be remembered for their contribution to the club. The members could all have a vote on who to add on a yearly basis and possibly have no more than 2 new recruits every year? There would have to be strict rules such as a certain number of games played or so many seasons involved with the club off the pitch. (Jack Wheeler as physio for example) Just an idea.

Shaun Derry targets two players as board backs signings.
"I am very satisfied with what I want to do. The board has given me their full backing and these conversations started two or three weeks ago. Whoever comes in has to be better than what we already have otherwise it defeats the object."
Β
If we can tinker around with the loan players we have, then we wouldn't need many 'fresh' faces and perhaps two could do. I would like to see a defensive midfielder signed, most we have are offensive and only Alan Smith or perhaps Hayden Mullins but a striker and DM would be my preference.
We could loan a winger, right back provided the funds permit.
I'd give Cassidy the chance to return to Wolves, he does try but I think we could find better.
Thoughts?

His goal scoring record isn't bad within League 1/2. He is rumoured to be exiting his loan spell with AFC Wimbledon, with Portsmouth, Bristol Rovers and Luton Town supposedly interested.
I can't see Bournemouth wanting him or avoiding putting him back on the loan market.
A few years back his name kept cropping up with us, would you take him on?
