Hello All!

Thanks for the Welcome. I joined because Footymad seemed to be in limbo or shutting down. I’ve been a non contributing member of it for many years and before it, I was a member of probably one of the earliest email lists relating to our great club and supporters. I’m trying to get used to the layout of the site, is there a “How do” piece within the site?

My name is John Smith though throughout my work life I used the Irish form of my name which is Sean Mac Gabhann (pronounced Mc Gowan as in Shane, God be Good to Him). I was born in Nottingham in 1959 to Irish immigrant parents and we returned to Ireland in 1964.

I’ve been a County fan since I was about 10 around the time that our greatest manager came to the club. I’m a very rare attendee at Meadow Lane due to clashing activity filled weekends here in Dublin.

I’m hoping for a better season than last and I’m patiently hoping that this group will gel quickly and find their Mojo especially in terms of confident defence and positive possession. I subscribe to Tom and George for their YouTube match day videos.

Regards,

Sean aka John

Hello @DublinPie , welcome to Pride of Nottingham. Thanks for posting your introduction, it's great to have you with us.

I would recommend checking these out.

Guide before the sites major upgrade, but still very useful.

Do you have "DublinPie" printed on your Notts shirt, and were you at the Bromley match at Meadow Lane last Saturday? I saw someone with that name on their shirt heading towards a car parked across from the club shop, and I did wonder if it might have been you.

If you ever need help, please don’t hesitate to ask. @Chris is always happy to lend a hand, and the rest of the moderation team are brilliant too. They’re great at supporting others and making sure everything runs smoothly.

I used to be part of the team myself, and they were always kind and helpful with me. It’s a good bunch, and you’ll find people here are very welcoming.

@DublinPie thanks for introducing yourself @Joshua has posted some good links to get you started, my advice is just have a play and get the feel of the forum, once you get used to using it things will be clearer. The dashboard is a good place to see current posts, I use “unread content” at the bottom of the forum too.

If I can help at all just send me a personal message or tag me with the @ sign.

Hello, @DublinPie.

Welcome to the Pride of Nottingham, I am very pleased to see you.

The site can be overwhelming for some, and I don't know if people think asking for help puts people out or if they feel self-concious about not knowing. There's no need, we simply want fans to feel at home when browsing the site.

I will try to get updated guides on the site to replace when is now pre-dated, sorry @True Magpie.

But please do ask if you are unsure about something, we can throw things at you and it might not be all that useful. My starting tip would be to make the most of one of these pages.

Dashboard: https://prideofnottingham.co.uk/dashboard/

I created the dashboard because I felt PON needed a central hub, so the page has everything in one place. It's not there to discourage members from browsing the site, but more of quick glance.

Topicfeed: https://prideofnottingham.co.uk/topicfeed/

This is very useful if you want to get stuck in to posting, you can read, react and comment on discussions from this single page without ever needing to come off it.

Please do reach out if you have any questions, even if you ask here.

I believe that's a fan called Brian, mate. He doesn't live in Ireland now, but does have DublinPie on his shirt.

A field where dreams become reality.

Welcome @DublinPie! Take a little time to visit some of the main areas, within a few weeks you will be right at home. @Joshua and @Chris have given you some of those areas that makes it easier to get to grips with what is happening on PON.

@Fan of Big Tone is a very helpful member of the Pride of Nottingham moderation team.
