Guess what we've bought?

Ok stop guessing I'll tell you, we've been to Derby to order a couple of folding bikes. :clapping:

They were going cheap in the sale so we took the plunge, they aren't the most expensive make I believe you can pay over a £1000 for Bromptons, these were £150 quid each but made of aluminium so quite lightweight. 20" wheels, six gears etc., they fold up quite nicely to fit in the boot of the car or in our case in our motorhome. Can wait to try them out, hopefully they will get us fit.

Anybody else got a bike?

I took my bike to the tip only last weekend, not because it was unused, well it was over the last 18 months but before that it took some punishment, not the sexy mistress type but punishment nonetheless.

Mrs Northants doesn't like me going on a bike, not the two wheeled version or the two legged version, the latter would result in not only divorce but also a partial sex change, the first would result in at least 30 minutes of earache so just stick to the car now but I keep dropping the possibility of us both getting one so we shall see

Last time I rode my bike all I can remember is going over the handlebars and headbutting a car. I remember waking up and wondering if I'd been knocked out, no sign of the car. I did a John Wayne and got back on the bike. I woke up 10 days later in intensive care nursing a broken thigh, hip, collarbone, and head which also gave me some brain damage, and a really cool looking scar. Deffo not going to ride a bike again. Good luck Tony but pleeze wear a bloody helmet cos I wasn't and it damn near killed me.

@tonyhateley You could have gotten me one! ;) Haha!

Nope, I have a normal bike but I find it hard to use. I can use my brothers, I think it could do with being looked at because I think @super_ram may have overtightened something, not that I blame him (at least this time).

I've been saying I will pop down to Halfords.

I have two bikes myself, and between those bikes I have a grand total of two gears!  The first bike is a BMX that I haven't ridden for years and the second is a fixed gear which I enjoy using to get around town (however not in this weather).  I'm fine as long as I don't encounter any kind of hill

I love riding my bike. I used to cycle to work every day but it's a bit far since I moved.

A helmet and a light are a must. The number of people cycling here at night without either is astonishing, and they seem to think that traffic lights don't apply to them either. And don't get me started on those who think it's OK to bugger about with their phones while cycling...

Was amazed on a recent visit to Amsterdam and Bruges at the number of bikes on the street and one of the bike parks in Ansterdam had literally thousands of bikes in it, I don't know how they found their own bike amongst the multitude, especially as they all looked alike. They were all old fashioned looking "sit up and beg" bikes many with baskets on the front, no fancy mountain bikes or anything.

Over here once it warms up. The Girlfriend and I bike back and forth to work, saves on the money keeps us I'm shape and keeps me vigilant. The girl isn't so good at staying aware so its my job during the rides, I may or may not have saved her from peril 10-15 times this past year.

Picking up the bikes today, perhaps we should have got some with skis on instead of wheels!
