Butter isn't bad for you

Apparently a new study has found that after all these years of giving up butter and full fat milk we needn't have bothered because it isn't bad for us after all!

I weaned myself off butter and started using margarine years ago, same with full fat milk we went on to semi skimmed because we didn't want to die of a heart attack. However to be honest I don't think I could go back now as it would make me feel sick to lather my sandwich with butter or drink a glass if full fat milk.

Do you prefer butter or marg, full fat or semi-skimmed milk?

Can't beat a nice bit of Lurpak! You don't have to lather the bread in it @Tony Hateley ;) I'll stick with semi-skimmed milk though.

This isn't new, it's been common knowledge for a long time.

I don't drink much milk anyway, but I always, always eat butter. Margarine is utterly disgusting, processed, artificial slop full of trans fats and articificial colouring to make it look edible. I can't eat anything with margarine on it.

Interesting fact: margarine never goes mouldy. If you leave it long enough it'll start to separate and drops of water will form on top, but the microbes and bacteria won't touch it. They know they should steer well clear!

I watched a documentary awhile back about milk being a 'hidden' poison.

I'll drink it, though I'm not obsessed with having it for the sake of it. With regards to butter I like it, I wouldn't eat a sandwich by choice without it (unless it's one of them store served ones). Either really concern me, I think I know what's good for me and I eat accordingly.

There will always be those who say they're bad and good, make your own mind up.

Scientists and medical personnels always tell you 'we are different', yet they judge you based on reference and everyone else. I'm not suggesting they're not 'experts' but I am saying people react differently. Some people who have medical concerns should have them, regardless because of the risk of further health complications but someone fit needn't worry like the media try to enforce. Did you all know we are all going to get cancer? 50% will survive and the other won't supposedly.

I like Almond milk myself. Full fat butter please. Not in a sandwich though. On toast.

Any salad kind of sarnie I make for myself I spread mayo all over the bread instead of butter (American style). I just love it

Give it five or more years, it will be.

When people ask what 'American Pie' is about, they're missing the point. The song isn't about the lines themselves - it's about what is between the lines. The song is about what isn't there.

I agree with @super_ram when he said "all things in moderation" if you follow that rule you can't go far wrong.

Except real ale that is, eh Horace?
