Carlisle is still recovering from the recent flooding so this game has been moved to Deepdale, home of PNE. So is it actually an away game or a game at a neutral venue? Let the debate begin. Notts have the advantage of actually playing at Deepdale recently so that might go in our favour. It's going to be strange for Carlisle. Our former manager Keith Curle is in charge of Carlisle, the second former manager we will face and it isn't even Christmas yet! Mind you, at the rate Notts go through managers, I'm surprised we aren't playing a former manager every week.......

Carlisle are 6th in the table. A lofty position for a team many had predicted to struggle this season. KC has done an excellent job. They are on a 4 game unbeaten run. They have 34 points (5 more than Notts). They have scored 39 goals (6 more than Notts) and conceded 37 goals (2 more than Notts). The 37 goals against is the 2nd worst in the division, only York have conceded more (44). They are still the FA Cup after a whopping 5-0 defeat of Welling in the second round. All in all, it's been a fantastic season so far for Carlisle.

Carlisle play a 4-5-1 formation, fairly defensive on paper but in reality they seem to believe attack is the best form of defence. Their defenders may not be able to defend but they certainly know where the net is. They have scored 12 goals between them so far. Danny Grainger plays LB but is a real threat with set pieces. Their midfield is nothing special. Gary Dicker is decent enough. Their front line is the real threat. Jordan Ibehre has 10 goals in 14 games this season. He will probably start. If things aren't going well, expect Carlisle to bring Derek Asamoah off the bench and revert to 4-4-2.

The law of averages say Notts have to win on the road at some stage and this is the game we'll do that IMO. It's not really an away game, it's more of a neutral venue. Both teams score for fun but can't defend so 3-2 to Notts in an absolute thriller from start to finish is my prediction. Notts winning it late on.

after last night I think we can clearly get goals away from home an are starting to pick up we was unlucky last night.

I reckon we will beat Carlisle if we take a decent following and make some noise we could easily shift the atmosphere in our favour so this could be our luck.

We need to see tuesday night continue on saturday, Notts have unfinished business.

I think we should beat them if we do.

The years of Carlisle looking to play attacking football are long gone, under Curle they have gone too defensive but that was the measure for them to survive.

I think we may struggle to break them down myself.

i have lost touch of carlisle, no idea how they play or how we should do against them. not going to mention paper or strength of our squad, we all know football is about who is best on the day.

hopefully that is notts.

Carlise have the second worst defence in the division, shipping 37 goals. That's two more than us and the joint second worst defence in the division. On the other hand, with 39 goals for they are the division's top scorers. After 11 goals in our last two games, I doubt either side will be keeping a clean sheet.

We clearly can't defend, so let's just outscore them. Play all our strikers at once. Running goalie. Sod it. We can do this!

Well Carlisle will be wanting to give their travelling fans something to show value for their support, I think this will be like a cup game myself and so stats will go out of the window.

it's not there ground tho so it's more a nuetral game and could physcholigical play into our hands so could be our chance

Nah, with the flooding and being forced to move to an alternative venue - it's more likely to encourage them to unite.

On paper we should benefit, yet I doubt it will be that simple.

to me I look it like this no one ground we scored twice last game we have Stanley back Milsom Curtis in middle energy and pace.

Hopefully Eddy is back we will look a lot more better

I just read the opposition view @notts-joe submitted and its got me thinking.

They have some very good players who could make it difficult for Notts but I do feel we have more than enough quality to push on. I hope the 'Tuesday' night Notts turns up and not the side which lost to Cambridge among others.

2-0 down at half-time.......luckily we know how to come back from this scoreline!!......fingers crossed

Posted

but not from 3 goals down....oh dear oh dear

Posted

well.....that looked pretty dire on the 365 screen......Notts get only their 2nd corner on 84 minutes!!!......jeez, another bad day at the office?

cheerio moniz just leave before it gets worse we draw away you think we're improving then BANG we get thrashed 3-0

Its just not gonna work but everyone will say give him more time give him more time

half the season gone.....7 points off the play-offs....not all doom and gloom.....but I am feeling particularly under-whelmed at the moment......some serious beer-drinking is in order for the rest of the day

A grim afternoon. Not fun listening to Uncle Col and Stallard. Especially the bit about Curls taking his two best players off to take the Mick out of the Notts board.

Moniz really does need to go now. And unfortunately, because it'll cost the club yet again, so do the backroom staff. I loved Yates as a player. Loved his commentary. Our biggest issue this year  has beetroot defending and NO organization.

Kevin not showed anything here at all.

Branston. An expensive failure.

Sorry Notts. Sack the lot.

everyone who keep going on bout 7 points off the play offs you're in la la cuckoo land it's not going to happen okay.

Every win at home we get is okay but as soon as we get 2 away were 99% likely to lose we may get the odd draw an then get stuffed like today.

were now 7 points off play offs with another away game and we are now 3 points off 18th so let's be realistic now

Well at least those that want Moniz out will be happy we lost.

Merry Christmas all.

why would we be happy we have lost ?

If going mental and wanting to smash my phone is happy then it must be odd.

We want him gone for the following reasons we aren't winning were leaking goals so easy it's a joke.

We show a bit of passion then it goes out the window we struggled against Newport yea we won but there not a great side.

Hes had a really good budget spent some decent money 150,000 May a point out.

Im sick and tired of it no one wanted moniz out no one goes into it and says hey lets just sack him he's had  5 months and a pre season and we still are now 7 points off the play off 3 points of 18th.

This modern day football as you call it is a results business so chances created count for zero how many times you scores what's counts and today we got embrassed Carlisle 5 shots 3 goals I think we had like 10.

Sorry but sometimes you have to accept the reality of the situation and see it we haven't won since first game that's probaly a new record itself.

But if you lot all keep sticking with moniz when it gets worse and worse il criticise you all for wanting to keep moniz cause you think it's gonna change and we're going to win away.

Infact Newport showed us we are vunrable at home if you can catch us

Never happy we lose (again) @tonyhateley, but the bottom of the lowest league is coming remarkably close.

If he doesn't go soon, we could well be drawn into relegation to conference football.

Even if the new guy is not all singing all dancing, what we need is steady organization. We need the honeymoon bump points as well!

but you got it wrong @hissingdwarf becuase people want moniz gone that means we wanted to lose and were hypocrite even tho the real reason is .

Anyone with 2 eyes can see what's happening it's not improving its not changing its no consistency.

And we are 4 points off 18th Barnet oh did a mention Crawley are right behind us and there shocking it's no good winning one at home then you have 2 away games and lose.

So if am a hypocrite for wanting moniz out so be it but I'd rather be truful and honest then live in cuckoo land believing he's the one and taking us to the conference then the play offs

The results speak for themselves. An expensively assembled squad has won 8 out of 22 league games. We have a goal difference of -5. Moniz is not the man for the job. His tactical awareness is shocking. You can't win games by attacking alone.
