Vaughan is the popular choice among the fans ... although you can’t deny that duffy does have those qualities

not really, he was barely capable last season and if he does get the captaincy this year i would hope for better.

he cant walk around swearing and getting the match officials faces.

At times he was good last season

The falling over and getting in the officials face needs to stop but as a captain, you have to be the one talking to the referee if a bad decision is made

@magpiejue No guarantees that Hewitt will be a certain starter. Matt Tootle perhaps?

If Duffy is going to start despite there being better players such as Hall, I doubt the club will avoid giving him the captaincy.

Looks like Duffy and Nolan are good friends.

Oh oh oh ohhhhh, everywhere where we go, watching super County putting on a show!

I'm not Duffy's biggest fan.

Personally I don't think he can improve enough not to be a weakness in the squad, giving him the captaincy seems about a poor of a decision as it is to insist on starting him. We should have signed a more defensive minded centre back. I hope Kevin Nolan looks elsewhere, the armband should go to someone who can lift the squad and get the best out of players. Arguing, diving and all the nonsense that comes with Duffy isn't good enough for me.

A field where dreams become reality.

I'm still not convinced Duffy has the leadership qualities needed to be captain. On the other hand, it's really not the done thing to give new signings the armband.

Either way, telling the media that he's thinking about it isn't KN's best move. Now, if he changes his mind and gives someone else the captaincy, it'll look like a proper slapdown for Duffy.

I have seen highlights of Richard Duffy and he seems your typical lower league centre back.

I see no issue with him being made the captain if he leads by example and tries his hardest to lift the squad when they require that extra focus in order to win key games. Kevin Nolan will know who's best.

When people ask what 'American Pie' is about, they're missing the point. The song isn't about the lines themselves - it's about what is between the lines. The song is about what isn't there.
