I’ve spent a lovely day fishing on a campsite in Shropshire. Didn’t catch a sausage let alone a fish but my god it was so peaceful. Lots of wildlife, saw three kingfishers.

This is the life.

I like to go for picnics with my family, that's usually a good way to relax - problem is I can't afford the travel or food at the rate I need to be calmer. 😂 Besides, I'm, trying to lose weight. Going for walks with them is good enough for me.

Family time buddy is always a great way to relax mate. We need to go for a walk again.

Looks like a rive @Fan of Big Tone and not a puddle? Rivers have been struggling a bit because of the lack of rain and flow and running crystal clear so everyone is struggling a bit.

Always enjoyed a bit of fishing, but not done any for a while now as not had the time.

I find a good way to avoid stress is not to watch Notts on a Saturday! My stress levels are unsurprisingly low at the moment.

I sometimes go for walks around parks, not much water where I live but if I fancy 30 minute walk I could.

It’s the river Severn in Shropshire @Fozzy, caught a decent sized roach ledgering with sweet corn yesterday but that’s all, I’ll try again today. It’s quite a fast following river where we are so float fishing is not good, apparently it’s a good river for barbel, i’ll have to try some luncheon meat.

Used to fish the Severn a lot around Bridgnorth area for Barbel about 25 years ago, but then found that they were becoming common throughout the Trent so didn't need to go over there. Feeder ruled in those days, but using a Balsa, or large wire stem stick float with a 20ft rod sometimes worked well where the flow was stronger.

Making me want to break the rods out now, but not the 20 footer as I sold it! 😪

That’s not our campsite @upthepies but it was a farm building with half a dozen self catering wigwams and a yurt. Our campsite was just behind me as I took the picture.

I caught a roach and an eel tonight, when I hooked the eel I thought it was a blooming whale it didn’t half put up a struggle the rod was bending alarmingly. 😂

Look nice and relaxing as you say @Fan of Big Tone personally don't fancy fishing meself. Myself and the Paulus have spent a nice relaxing evening in our garden, with the fountain going, and some music playing in the mancave.

Has there been any rain while we’ve been away @magpiejue?

My front lawn is looking a bit parched, funnily enough the back lawn is still green.

I did hear a rustling in the undergrowth and thought to myself “if this is an otter on no account try to engage in conversation”. :joker: Sadly whatever it was didn’t show itself.

It might sound strange but it's true, I find driving to be very relaxing especially during the night. If I can find out how to upload on PON I might start sharing pictures I snap during my travels.

I have never gone fishing, but sometimes I like to have walks near rivers and lakes. The Embankment is a nice area, I sometimes reflect on Notts games by walking along there.
