How did we play?

Featured Replies

We will be some team in 7/8 games time, we were a little disjointed at times, we are still obviously tired from pre-season.

There were mistakes from every department but the odd times we put some play together we made a very good team look ordinary.

By point of reference they would have beaten us this time last season without a doubt, we matched them up physically which was good given the size of their team, Ross had aΒ 5 minute spell where he was less than convincingΒ but it was probably more nerves tbh, much like Enzio & Nathan Thomas.

All in all a good game to watch and like I said before the season started, they will be in the top three no doubt.

And as for the referee, absolute w4nk but thne what else have we come to expect.

In answer to your first question...badly.

The problem with the gel together excuse is it was basically the same spine as last year, apart from a few changes.Β

We were bad!Β

Keeper...Needs time to settle on the ball and not tested. Lucky a few times.

Defence. Weak. Their lack of a finisher was our saving grace. Duffy was a liability. Jones looked off the game as well.

Midfield. Needs game time together to string the passs forward. At times it was like a throw back to Keith Curle rubbish of passing backwards for no reason. Hopefully Vaughn, when fit, will step it up and control the game more.

Both wingers looked tasty. Now they need floor passes to work off.

Strikers. No real chances. Out muscled across the pitch tbf. Usual hoof ball and silly bookings from Notts.

Lets hope for better!

6/10, benchmark for improvements but overall it was good.

Fitzsimons: Started well, briefly looked shaky but his distribution was awful. His keeping was fine, confident to catch the ball and I think he will only improve.

Defenders: Duffy did well! Brisley was class, I though Jones did alright and Tootle was superb for me.

Midfield: Vaughan and Hewitt, fantastic - they played well. Boldewijn not good, he was wasteful and only praise from me was his defending. Thomas was alright, wasteful too and his crossing was annoying.

Strikers: Stead awful, sorry but he had a very bad game for me. Hemmings did well, Dennis looked useful but barely no service.

Fitzsimons: Poor in distribution but quality when he mattered

Defenders: Okay, dealt with the most part of today

Midfield: Only a few worthy mentions, they should have done better

Strikers: Not that good

Fitzsimons: He did okay, slow to release the ball and his kicking was ****

Defenders: Duffy and Brisley the best of the four, they did well

Midfield: Vaughan and Thomas did well, Hewitt and Enzio wasn't great the latter was dire

Strikers: Did nothing, had no control of the game and lacked creativity from behind them

Fitzsimons: Poor, but did okay with his handling

Defenders: Too much hoofing and rushing the play

Midfield: Nobody thought outside of the box

Strikers: Did any turn up? No service but lacked effort too

Fitzsimons - poor tbh, he has improved from the friendlies but a better team would have scored past him.

Defenders - they did the job but the right and left back positions dont support the centre well.

Midfield - moved forward early on but soon ran out of ideas, no one really wanted to lose the ball so would pass pointlessly.

Strikers - awful, only dennis looked interested and hemmings was marked out of the game.

Fitzsimons: He seems capable of stepping up but he needs to work on things.

Defenders: They need to mark better but they did okay.

Midfield: Poor from the midfield, no fight or creativity.

Strikers: Very poor.
