Very happy indeed we need defenders and we have signed one great news ????????????????????????

Very chuffed with that! An experienced defender which can jump straight into the first team. Playing Hewitt at CB is just not an option anymore so glad this deal has been made.

Please be good, please be good. Please be good....

I don't recall him from the Premier League, I know little about him but welcome.

I've read two posts on twitter; one from a Charlton Athletic fan who said he looked good for them when he was on trial with them this pre-season. And anther from an MK Dons fan, who said he was one of their best players from January onwards and thought he'd be class in League 2 even though he was getting on a bit.

Not too old as central defenders go, just depends on whether he's looked after himself, hopefully get a look at him at Grimsby tomorrow.

This article describes Elliot Ward In any team, you need that experience. He has a calm head, he knows how to defend and he's not bad on the ball either. He was schooled at West Ham so he has always been good on the ball, Eddie Howe wouldn't have taken him to Bournemouth if he wasn't a ball-playing centre half, nor would Tony Mowbray at Blackburn.

Heres a short video showing what he can do, why a scouting report includes a goal by a defender I’m not really sure;

looks and sounds like a very good addition to the squad. Hopefully he can tutor Bird a bit and we get to see a bit more of him in action.

He looks a very good defender, from the video he appears to think about space and his position. Almost everything Richard Duffy isn't, no excuse for him to start now.

As long as he can head it, kick it, not dive, or make stupid mistakes then he will do. Doesn't look very quick, but if he has positional sense then that will counteract it. I just hope he is vocal and can organise as well.

He looks more than capable of helping and sorting out some of the defensive issues.

If he can set aside the disappointment of giving a penalty away in the last game, he should do fine.
