what do you think?

hes started off well and i can see him being poached if the form continues, i would hope that hes not foolish because he could learn a lot from macclesfield. i still expect it to turn but i think the early signs shows promising results.

It's early days but it's not been how I thought it would, he seems to have inspired his squad and he's actually doing alright. I don't dislike him, I just find his arrogance to be annoying. He's pretty ignorant and self-focused too IMO, however I would happily admit I was wrong if he continues this form.

If he does do well and he attracts interest from further up, I could see him easily leaving.

The grass isn't always greener on the other side and I feel it's a risk that would see him fall into the same situation but only if it did happen. He could lose the rest of his games from tomorrow and be out of work within 3 months time. He could be laughing it up and remain loyal to the only club that trusted him to manage his time, Sol's not really the person to allow himself not to be tempted away. His track record speaks volumes but good luck to Macclesfield.

I mean him. 😂

I don't know to be fair

Leadership is one thing he has in abundance and that will help, however his arrogance is one thing that could let him down.

He must make it about the club and trying to help them and not all about himself

He seems a very calm bloke I can't imagine him going in at half time giving his team a shouting at. I think he's passive aggressive. I also think he is a tactical master when it comes to defending which lets be fair is what Macclesfield have had trouble with. It's certainly an interesting appointment but I have a soft spot for Macc. They have deserved the promotion and I can't stand Tranmere fans so I do want to see both him and Macc succeed.

His arrogant though and like a few have said above he needs to make his mission about Macclesfield Town and not about himself or leave in glory and then move on. He has the possibility to create a project at Macclesfield and with a few extra additions in January could well be a football league club next year.

There will be more known if Sol experience a poor run of form, I would question his loyalty and commitment more than anything. He could very be a good manager but it will depend on his attitude if he succeeds or not.

Does he really have the comitment? Surely hes just going to walk out because he doesn't like something. 😂

In three months time things will be clearer, you have to access a manager by his signings and what he does with a team. He might be doing well now but the balance can be broken in many ways.

He's do better than I thought but if you have belief in your own ability, that makes things a lot easier. I can see him lasting a few seasons before anything else happens.

No he don't. Many managers who were blessed with outstanding ability as players struggle to communicate their ideas to players with less natural ability than they had and sooner or later become frustrated with them. To overcome this a manager needs intelligence, self-awareness and excellent communication skills, things that Sol Campbell lacks. Macclesfield may be having a bit of a bounce now, but when their results inevitably turn the fall-outs will begin.

For our sake I hope he fails and that the current form of theirs go pop, it would be a boost to not only win them but knock their sail a bit.

Like our last couple of managers I have to question what credentials or experience do Ex Prem footballers have that will help them manage lower league clubs?? As a player Sol was a good leader of very good & skillful players many of whom he can still call upon for advice but when it comes to knowing how to build a side of 4th tier footballers who probably earn a fraction of his past wages, how is this going to help?? There seems to be a myth that says if you have played at a high level you should make a good manager but at our level it very rarely works, no another Harry Kewell, Kevin Nolan & Paul Ince for me!!
