Can we avoid the drop ?

Featured Replies

So with only 180 minutes of play left Notts are bottom but only 2 points off safety with two games left.

I know we have failed to capitalise on favours being done for us by teams either beating or drawing with Yeovil or Macclesfield.

We fought today with 10 men against Crawley after the card to Ben Barclay and refused to allow them to score.

So guys and girls can we pull of the greatest escape yet and remain the oldest league club and a league two team.?

We are really hopeful that Macclesfield mess up more than Notts, I mean can we be this lucky after all the misfortune we've had over the years? I don't think so.

Macclesfiled have:

Port Vale (A)
Cambridge United (H)

I think realistically they will get 2 or 4 points, winning both seems unlikely.

Yeovil have:

Northampton Town (A)
Carlisle United (H)

For me, Yeovil are unlikely to beat Northampton and Carlisle should win. If they're lucky, 2 points, anything more would show the massive misfortune Notts are prone to having.

This means that Macclesfield are the ones who we need to be minded of, it's why I am so annoyed with the negative tactics that Neal Ardley has been playing. Don't get me wrong, I don't want him out, but I do feel he needs to realise that attacking football is the only option. The poor performance does fall within the type of season we are experiencing, that doesn't justify him actively seeing draws as being good enough.

Yes, going for games could have meant points gained was lost instead, but I think we'd have far more than we do now.

It's looking very grim, slim chances are there, but I don't think it's good enough.

I have a feeling Notts will win Grimsby, then lose or draw to Swindon - only to see Macclesfield land the same amount of points as we do or 1 more.

Then Notts would have been relegated despite the warning signs, against all the chances and incredible luck we have had recently. I don't blame Ardley completely, there's certain players who haven't been good enough this season. I feel they care, yet they can't be bothered to push their game. If I could play professionally, I'd give my all regardless. I played with a dislocated ankle the last time I did, I did move in goal but I was determined to have fun.

Where are the players' sense of pride or passion?

A field where dreams become reality.

I think now it's safe to admit we are as good as down. :(

Slim hope.

Oh oh oh ohhhhh, everywhere where we go, watching super County putting on a show!

Due to the fact we have had our chance before this Saturday, I believe we are down. No point trying to delay what could have been saved before.

"Strive not to be a success, but rather to be of value."

I won't give up hoping, but you would have to be mad to say this lot will keep Notts up. My head says we are down, my heart wants them to pull it off.

When people ask what 'American Pie' is about, they're missing the point. The song isn't about the lines themselves - it's about what is between the lines. The song is about what isn't there.

We are imploding big time. Check thisisstfc website.

Manager aiming to have 4 youth team players on bench and thinks majority of squad could not care less.

Beating us is not your problem.

Please don't jinx it, knowing Notts will most likely concede two own goals!! ????
