Excelsior Rotterdam has decided to terminate the contract with head coach Ricardo Moniz immediately. A nasty decision, but the club believes that something else is needed to turn the tide.

The club has decided to put an end to the collaboration because of the disappointing results and the large backlog of direct promotion. That is why we now want to focus on achieving the play-offs.

We want to thank Ricardo for his passion, drive and commitment.

Good luck to him, he needs to find a club where he can hang around for a few years. Build something special and grow from it.

He will find somewhere else to go.

poor decision, thought he had been doing well. clubs need to take the rough times with the good. show some faith in their manager.

Where will he end up next? I expect him to find a club in Belgium or Germany I don't know why.

Boy, do I miss this man talking about football. He didn’t speak about how Notts did well, it always sounded comical when he would say stuff like, “the ball was in the middle, we managed to attack a little bit but defensively, we weren’t as good. But, goals were scored and I think we did well.”

I’d rather listen to one of his rambles.

I don't know much about Ricardo Moniz, it seems from past discussions here that he's fondly remember for his short time here. His CV will look attractive to clubs, I bet some obscure team will jump at his approach.

He was a funny character as a manager and never looked like he would last at Notts for long.

I have just spent an hour on the phone with Ricardo Moniz. He would like to say that Notts County still remain very special to him.  I will write up a piece for a blog in due course

I would have him back as a coach or a management pair.

Hes the one sacking that I can hold, my hand up and say I called for his head too early.

Most of the last umpteen sackings were deserved and at the right time, but I think Ricardo, with hindsight, deserved more credit and a more stable base rather than Trew and Guy Branston  running the show.

@Piethagoram will look out for your blog, hope he finds work soon.

I actually rate him as a manager.

@Joshua It's actually going to be a difficult write because one has to be legally careful of what one can say, especially on his time at Notts

He wouldn't want to be threatened by a certain people legally, whatever is mention I would be interested. I don't really care about all the inside gossip, his thoughts on his time would be enough.

Alot get terminated, its nothing new really. He did seem quite clueless in certain part of his job when he was here.

You both need to be careful knowing how rash people during his tenure here at Notts tend to react.

True, there will be away around it. Just don't disclose anything too sensitive.

Can you ask if he has applied for any jobs in the Championship, and if he hasn't, would he?
