  1. Good morning everyone, it’s a cloudy start here but pretty mild as the temperature only dropped to 10.2 overnight.

Thanks for all the comments about the daily chat thread, I’ll carry on with it but in a few weeks time i’ll be away on a cruise so I won’t be able to do it then.

Its still a bit disappointing that more people don’t join in, there were only 8 people who actually read yesterdays! As I say i’ll soldier on in the hope that more people join in and we need somewhere to find out about @GrannyPie and see how she’s doing.

I’m still aching from yesterday’s park run but today I want to get out for a walk to get a bit of fresh air, we need some shopping as we haven’t got anything for tonight’s dinner so we’ll come back via the shops, there are quite a few nice footpaths round here it’s not too urban so we can walk from the house and feel like we are in the countryside.

I hope everyone has a great day.

  3. Which team in any division do you most hate.

Florist? Mansfailed? Dare I say it Derby? Or another team Man Utd maybe?

Who do you love to hate and why?

  4. Lucky to even get a point, no shock that when a bit of luck goes our way, we still manage to **** it up.

Fitz - 7 - Can't fault him for anything, collected the balls he should, couple of good saves, solid.

Toots - 2 - Can we have the Toots of last season back please? Backs so far off his man it's practically a free cross. Thing is, if he gets closer, he gets skinned and allows the man to waltz into the penalty area.

Turley - 10 - Only one actually defending, and he did it well, maybe he can share it with the rest of the morons alongside him. Head it, kick it, tackle. Well done.

Ward - 3 - Did the basics of head it right, but then some frankly strange decision making and lazy defending.

Evina - 2 - Someone could have told him we were playing in blue?! Couldn't pass to anyone of his fellow team-mates, also made strange decisions like Ward.

Enzo - 5 - Would have given him 7 for the first half  and a 3 for the second. It averages to 5.

Hewitt - 5 - Largely bypassed by the direct Vale, but when on the ball was OK.

Milsom - 2 - Looked like bambi on ice trying to play football. Gave the ball away so many times in the center of the field. Even tripped over the ball at one point. Shambolic display, got away with it.

Hemmings - 6 - Thought he was decent and got into some dangerous positions, always a threat but sometimes last bit of quality missing. Did his bit defending.

Dennis - 3 - Hardly noticeable. Didn't get much service, didn't get himself into the game either.

    Subs:
Etete - 6 - Put himself about, bit gangly and some bad touches but got himself into the game in 2 minutes when Dennis couldn't in 70.

    Duffy & Bris - N/A

Vale's finishing - 10 - Could and probably should have been 5-2. Thanks for that Vale.

Why can’t we hold on to a lead with 3 minutes to go? Answers on a postcard.

Well can’t say I’m not happy we got a point .. but it still keeps us two points clear of relegation zone we could of done with a win.

Anying it was late in the game and again coukdnt hold a lead annoying and more points dropped..

Well, I don’t know where to start. Grateful we got a point I guess!

After the disappointment of last week where we should’ve won, this a game we probably should have lost. Three proper last ditch tackles a ball cleared off the line. Port Vale were wasteful and midway through the 2nd half it just felt like we were waiting for them to score. Kewell didn’t change anything and whilst we were okay in the first half it was the same old problems, standing off and anytime Port Vale got the ball in the box players were free and we panicked as per usual. We’ve pretty much got a new defence but the organisation is still not good. Alessandra and Dennis never got into the game today but it didn’t help that we gave the ball away too often.

Also 3 centre backs on the bench and two kids? Where are Jones, Husin, Crawford, Kellet and Hawkridge?

2 points off the relegation zone… 50 points looking miles away right now. Can we start the season again?

  6. Out of all the pre season signings we’ve made I was most looking forward to Dennis playing in a Notts shirt after receiving glowing reports rom my Chesterfield supporting friends but so far I have to say he’s been a massive disappointment, why is that?

He was hardly mentioned in the commentary today, should he be given time, is he getting the right service? What do you think?

  7. Has anyone seen the Halloween video produced by Notts County media team, it shows Enzio Boldwijn and Elliot Hewitt going to a young supporters house dressed up as surgeons with bloody hands etc., I thought it was brilliant and what a great thing to do for the young Pie fans, it's something they will remember for a long time. It's one Facebook but I can't find a way to post it on here.

Perhaps someone else knows how to @Chris?

  11. Anyone having a bonfire/firework party this weekend? Or are you going to a organised display? How are your pets coping with the loud bangs?

Let PoN know if your cebrating this weekend.

  12. Good morning folks, it’s matchday and also park run day for me, today I’m running at a new venue because the normal place isn’t doing it this week so it’ll be interesting to see if I improve my time at all.

Later I’ll be listening to Notts on the radio and praying for a good result.

I’m wondering whether it’s worth doing these daily threads as there seems to be only a few people interacting, it’s not generating the interest that I had hoped. What do folk think?

  13. Here’s a question prompted by the chap who gave half his £10,000 winnings back to the club. i.e. £5,000, it’s a lot of money to give away, if you suddenly had £5,000 from nowhere what would you do with it?

I’d use it to help pay for a cruise, we’d love to go transatlantic to America and Canada £5,000 would pay for one of us so I’d need to find the rest.

  14. Good morning PoN, it’s a bright start but cold the overnight low temperature was 0.8 degrees. Brrrrrrrr!

Not much happening here today, it’s another quiet day for us which means we can relax, although we are trying to sort out Mrs. Big Tones phone which refuses to start up this morning, it’s been playing up since she dropped it now it’s not working at all she’s only had it just over a year which is really disappointing, could be more expense if we can’t sort it out.

Keep up the good work @GrannyPie let’s have you back on here and back home with your family where you belong.

    Have a great day everyone.

  15. With 4 losses on the bounce before today and then surrendering a 2-1 lead with 3 minutes to go thanks to horrendous defending do you think Kewell is under pressure, will we see yet another managerial change before Christmas or will he pull it round?

    Thoughts?

  16. Our grandsons introduced us to that Baby Shark song yesterday, now I can't get the blooming thing out of my head, anyone help? It's driving my crazy.:frantics:

  17. We've got three, one in the lounge 32" one in the bedroom 20" and one in our campervan 9", we could do with a bigger on in the lounge as its a big room but I ain't buying another until this one conks out. :joker:

  18. So it’s monday and it’s guess the magpie and the gaffer has left us a guess the magpie even though he is away.

I Will reveal the answer on Saturday night after the Notts game.

  19. Guys today is @hissingdwarf birthday would you join me in wishing him happy birthday.

  20. It seems to me the likes of David Vaughan and Kristian Dennis just need to be given time to get on the same wavelength as others in the squad, especially with the upturn of form. I fail to see how they benefit the club sitting on the bench or missing games completely.

These could be game changing players.

It sounds like others have improved given the chance, i have read comments about how Lewis Alessandra has taken his chance to cement a starting position. So why can't Vaughan or Dennis? There's depth in the squad and Harry Kewell has to get the most out of them.

What does other PON members think?

  21. I was listening to spotify today and it suggested a music mix I might like, this song came up, I thought to myself what a crazy song so I found the video and that's just as crazy, hope you enjoy.

  22. Notts County fan who won £10,000 top prize on Lifeline has donated half of it back to the club.

Incredibly generous, he must be well off, anyone on here?

    https://www.nottscountyfc.co.uk/news/2018/november/lifeline-jackpot-winner-donating-back-to-club/

  23. So the new call of duty is out for ps4 and Xbox. Are there any fans of cod on here are you going to be buying the game.?

  24. Well kind of! He obviously didn't practice volleys at Notts!

  25. So it’s been a hell of a week for Jamie Turley the red card last Tuesday against the MK Dons which resulted in a penalty us loosing 2-1.

But good news would finely come in the way that the red card to be recinded and Turley allowed to play against Swindon.

Turley would start and in the first half would sustain a cut above his right eye. which bleed to the point where he had to have the wound above his eye stapled on the side of the pitch of all places.

Jamie would need to be bandaged up and a clean shirt. But the cut continued to bleed over four shirts in total.

In the end it took eight stitches after the final whistle to halt the blood but as you can see the bruise has now come out.

But despite the cut Jamie still carryed on with heart of a warrior and I’m sure we can agree he is a #truemagpie
