According to bbc Alan Hardy has confirmed this afternoon that the sale of the club to the DanishΒ consortium Β is finalised and completed.

So it’s finally done the twoΒ Alan’s are heading out of meadow lane and we have our club back.Β

As a bit of relief from all the doom and gloom, I thought I'd murder your eardrums instead.

Here's a song about Lukas Podolski.

And here's Gazza. Top that.

From the official Notts County website:

Notts County owner and chairman Alan Hardy has provided a further update on his attempts to find a buyer for the club.

I am very pleased to say that, following hugely constructive talks today and over the weekend, I am extremely confident that a sale will be completed ahead of our upcoming court hearing on 10 July.

Conversations with a group who I am certain have Notts’ footballing fortunes at heart are now at an advanced stage and I am sure supporters will be delighted to hear their plans for the club.

Apologies, once again, that I am unable to reveal any identities. At the request of all parties, this remains private business until formalities are completed. I can, however, confirm that we have ceased talks with the group associated with Alex May.

Should our talks progress further as planned, I will be liaising with the prospective new owners to rectify the current situation regarding player and staff salaries at the earliest opportunity. I deeply regret being unable to fulfil this obligation to my employees and hope - and expect - there will be a speedy resolution.

I am also aware that a great deal of cynicism is likely to come my way in response to this update, which I can understand following an immensely frustrating and disappointing chapter in the club’s history.

However, I felt it was only right to bring supporters up to speed following the significant developments of the last few days.

Alan

β€œWe need to become a more physical team to be able to cope with the National League,” he said. β€œAt York we got beaten up and out-run and the same happened at Alfreton.

β€œIt was the reason we got relegated last season. We certainly need to man-up as a team.”

β€œThey’re all there for discussion,” he said. β€œIt’s not fair to single anyone out at the minute, but I think it’s clear we need to add some physical qualities to the squad.

β€œCan we find them in the next week? We’ll certainly work hard to. We’d like to get two or three in before Saturday to at least get us started on the right foot.

β€œWe have to give up every hour to do it.”

β€œTootle felt his glute muscle [against Alfreton] – it didn’t feel right, so he came off,” revealed Ardley. β€œWe’ll have to see how that looks next week.

β€œKristian’s got a grade-one strain at the bottom of his calf – he felt it in the Ilkeston game. It’s obviously not ideal because he and Toots haven’t had the minutes but hopefully they’ll be back soon.”

Gangmaster license? "Extremely concerning"... It's not a good advertisement for him is it??

Quote directly from the Nottingham Post:

Quote

GLAA's head of licensing Charlotte Woodliffe said: β€œWe found Mr Trew’s previous conduct extremely concerning and not the behaviour we would expect from the managing director of a GLAA licence holder.

It would see that Jim O'Brien has posted a picture of himself on Instagram in Notts training kit with an "old man" filter, with a remark about pre-season training. So he would appear to be back for pre-season training at least.

If/when the takeover saga is resolved, I hope we get him signed up again. News like that gives me a little bit of hope.

I know with the HMRC bill we can’t sign anyone but if the takeover does eventually get sorted some of these players may just be added to the squad. I’ve done a little digging and found out a bit about them. It would be interesting to hear if anyone has been to the pre-season friendlies and seen them in action.

Trialists featured so far:

Dion Kelly-Evans – 22, Full Back – A former Coventry City academy graduate who made 40 appearances for the first team over 3 seasons. Last season he regularly played in the Kettering Town Team that won promotion to the National League North. He won the Directors Player of the Year and by all accounts is looking to move back up the football pyramid.

Kyel Ried – 32, Winger – Played for numerous League 1 and 2 clubs, arguably his most successful time was spent at Bradford a good few seasons ago. Last season he played for Chesterfield, where he played 27 times but was released after a pretty unsuccessful spell there.

Nathan Tyson 37 – (although he still looks 27!) Striker – Remember him? He joined on loan and played 10 games during the run-in of the Shaun Derry Great Escape season. Last season he played for Wycombe in League 1, playing 19 times and only scoring once. Earlier this pre-season he trained at Northampton Town but was not offered a contract.

Remie Streete – 24, Centre Back – A former Newcastle United youngster who last played a competitive game for Port Vale in 2017! Whilst he has had a good season and played 37 times Vale were relegated back into League 2, he left by mutual consent wanting play at a higher level but injuries meant he didn’t sign for anyone. Last season he was on trial with Ardley at Wimbledon and although he impressed, was not offered a contract.

Chris Camwell – 20, Left Back – Another Coventry City academy player, a regular player for the under 23 side, described as having excellent technique when it comes to dead balls and crossing but failed to break into the Coventry team and left last season having made only 4 senior appearances in his time there.

Do you anymore about them? And do you think any of them would be good additions to the squad?

Since relegation from League Two to the National League, all the chaos and negativity (only natural) have sort of taken that buzz away. You can see it when you read peoples comments prior to the takeover, things really took a toll.

Now we have a fresh start, hopefully Alexander and Christoffer Reedtz can restore the positive aspects to supporting a club like Notts.

I for one, won'tΒ be expecting them to perform miracles and I just hope they can steadily lay out solid foundations which could make the club successful again. This really has to be a structured plan, with time being given to have a proper transition. When he who won'tΒ be named took over, things were merry - the Reedtz brothers will have the same issues to face. Albeit much worse with the environment the former owner bred by not being upfront or honest.

I have to say, I do like what I have heard from the new owners. They seem to understand football, they'reΒ both clearly professional people and I like that they seem calm in from of the media.

What will it take for them to make Notts County feel like our club again?

I realise it will take time, that the takeover eases things but for myself. I think it will take a while before things feel like we are moving in the right direction, that the club is community minded and the optimisticΒ sense of attending games returns to be fun rather than a task.

A delay with the Danish?

Is it the time for admin?

Is this the end?

As a bit of a distraction from all the financial fun going on, I hear we're playing one of those "football matches" today. We even have trailists! Has anyone gone?

Team: (1st half)

Fitzsimons
Kelly-Evans (T)
Bird
Oxlade-Chamberlain
Kennedy-Williams
Doyle
Dunn
Howes
Patching
Reid (T)
Hemmings

Subs: Culverwell, Kellett, Betts, Tootle, Osborne, Rose, Crawford, Boldewijn, Campbell, Dennis

About the trialists - Dion Kelly-Evans is a right-back who used to play for Coventry, playing 25 times in League One, and most recently played for Kettering. Kyel Reid is an experienced left winger who has played in all four divisions, making the most appearances (150) for Bradford.

Has anyone gone? Anything to report?

It sounded like a very solid performance and win against Walsall yesterday. Did any of you see it? What did you make of the players' performances?

Right now I and Mrs Sausage are car shopping as our current car (a Renault 308 SW) has now covered more than 200,000 km and is starting to look worse for wear. After a brief flirtation with a Renault Megane, an Opel (Vauxhall) Mokka is now our favourite.

Have any of you got any experience with Mokkas? What car do you all drive?

How many Notts fans have driven this way on Saturday or even over the years? I have always thought it was dangerous, yet here's the proof.

Revealed: This is the UK's most dangerous road

The A5004 from Buxton to Whaley Bridge in Derbyshire is Britain’s most dangerous road (Geograph)

The most dangerous roads in the country have been revealed - and they account for nearly two thirds of fatal crashes.

Despite Britain having some of the safest roads in the world, a study by the Road Safety Foundation (RSF) found that 60% of deaths on our roads between 2015 and 2017 happened on just 12.5% of the network.

Topping the list of Britain’s most dangerous road is the A5004 from Buxton to Whaley Bridge in Derbyshire - a 7.5-mile single carriageway A-road that saw 16 serious of fatal crashes between 2012 and 2017.

This might be deemed a bit of a boring topic, yet I would disagree because we can learn things from what we discuss.

Recently I have started listening to music stored on one of my Google Drive accounts, commonly before that I would listen to Amazon Music or YouTube but I have gotten bored of the limited playlists. When I was younger, back in the day when winAMPΒ and Windows Media Player was kings - I listened to music stored locally on my PC.

Over the years my MP3 collection made its way onto my phone(s), however, I barely stored any on previous Android smartphones. Mostly due to times changing and the fact at work I wasn'tΒ able to listen to my own stuff.

As I mentioned above, I have put my collection onto a Google Drive, which comes in handy when I use my iPhone (which is mostly for business/privateΒ calls). I downloaded 'CloudPlayer' on my Android device and this basically offers the same as my iPhone. I can store music locally, I just haven'tΒ yet.

I've got a wide selection from 60's classics, to most of the popular rock genres from the 90's and early 00's.

Today, I searched for a player on my PC that can be crossed over onto my laptop if I wished. I have a backup of my music stored on an external hard drive.Β

I've tried two apps, the second of which "MusicBee" I've fallen in love with.

For a free application, it's jam packed with features including crossfadingΒ tracks and the ability to cut out the loss of sound at the end of tracks.

How are you listening to music these days?

What's everyone been up to recently?

Has anyone done anything special with Father's Day just passing? Anyone been on holiday or away? Share what you have been up to.

i was wondering if any pon members had a bike? what colour is it? how long have you owned it?

i am getting a new bike soon, my current one is red and orange, i have had it since the early 2000s but now is the time to get a better bigger one. does anyone have any suggestions? trusted brands?

After my unfounded optimism from yesterday, here's a dose of doom and gloom. With no takeover in sight, no money, players rumoured to be on the verge of walking out, a transfer embargo and our debut in a very competitive league just around the corner, we've never had a summer as difficult as this one. Our last spell in administration seemed to drag on forever, but it wasn't like this. There's a real chance that we won't kick off this season at all.

I've got no appetite to write this but it's been in my head half the day so I'm going to ask it. What happens if Notts fold next week? What do we do?

The council has promised to hold on to the ground for us. We need to hold them to that, publicly. If Notts can stay at Meadow Lane come what may, it'll be a massive advantage.

Then there's the need to get organised. Public meetings would have to be held, funding secured and a way ahead agreed. I think this is how Chester went about it. Wimbledon is a worse analogy as their fans already had plenty of experience in this when WFC moved to MK. In our case we don't have an active supporters' trust and many people are still (understandably) suspicious of them after the last experience. The risk here is that any dubious businessman could set up a club and declare it the new Notts County. In the worst case we could end up with a split a la Scarborough or Enfield, which would put us back years.

I'm just going to make some living sacrifices and do a bit of black magic to make sure that none of this actually happens...

As reported in the NEP:Β https://www.nottinghampost.com/sport/football/football-news/notts-county-owner-alan-hardy-3122094

It would appear that a hitch relating to the lease has been resolved and Wednesday (tomorrow) has been targeted for completion. Please let this be true!

I spoke to friend and he’s been told by someone reliable that the deal should be completed this weekΒ Β there just in the stages of finalising the deal.

i know it’s no comfort but hopefully he is correct and we have the sale confirmed this week.

I don’t pay much attention to rumours on twitter but this guy has been right about lots of transfers before including our signings of Dennis, Hemmings and Enzio last season. He’s posted some news about Notts.

Potential incoming?

I don’t know anything about Bennett, as for Oliver well his hold play was 6/10, his goal threat 1/10. I guess this is the only kind of calibre we’ll be able to attract now though…

Potential outgoing?

I’d hazard a guess Enzio will be on a good wage and if we can recoup some of the money we spent on him last season I’m sure the club would be willing to do a deal…
