  1. I just heard that despite playing pretty well, they was forced back by aston villa at home resulting in a 3 - 1 thrashing.

    This is good to see!

Aston Villa in recent times have done some great stuff, they're a side full of players which "are labeled" good but have never really gelled with previous teams and Mr O'Neil is showing the reason why he's a top manager. Hey steve, good news huh? I think this will be helping you guys no end.

Sorry Vicky! Torres couldn't fight it.. haha :P

  2. Another young player on loan to us as a promising addition.

The 22-year-old left-sided player has had previous loan spells at Oldham Athletic and Northampton Town.

Manager Ian McParland told BBC East Midlands Today: "He's got lots of energy, he can head it and is a good addition to the squad."

  3. I'm shocked! I know many fans was slating him and some just thought he wasn't up to the job. (it's fair) though I do feel he didn't deserve to go based on what results we have managed to get. Having seeing the game yesterday I said to cheeky "I can see why people are on his back" it was poor tactics after they scored.

Hawley wasn't a good option, for me hamshaw was his best decision but I guess he didn't have much time really.

Goodluck Charlie, I wish you luck!

  4. J/W when you was going to post this joe.

Notts County captain Graeme Lee left it late to salvage a point at home against Shrewsbury in Hans Backe's first match as manager of the Meadow Lane club.

The Shrews had gone in front on the half-hour mark; on-loan Jamie Devitt slotting past Kasper Schmeichel after being teed up by Dean Holden.

Shrews keeper Steve Phillips then saved a Luke Rodgers shot, Lee Hughes' strike and Ade Akinbiyi's turn and shot.

But Lee headed in Rodgers' cross to get County a point and keep them in fourth.

  5. Notts County extended their unbeaten home run to seven league matches with victory over struggling Crewe.

County had already hit the crossbar before Johnnie Jackson released Luke Rodgers to stride forward and slot home the opening goal for the Magpies.

Craig Westcarr added the second, firing in to the bottom corner from distance.

Kasper Schmeichel's penalty save from Steven Schumacher added insult to injury for a Crewe side who have now lost seven of their last eight games.

We seemed on top pretty much most of what I've seen, sadly it's only what's been shown on tv via various media. I'm not sure on the penalty as it looked quite soft, what was it for pushing? Either way kasper seemed to be on top form and everyone else pushed for the result.

  6. While at the doctors today while watching the news I was aware that the england match at the weekend is only being shown online. What really annoys me is that they expect you to pay nearly £5 to watch it online. And what are the problems with being online.....

    1) what if the internet crashes?

    2) what about low bandwidth?

    3) what if the computer crashes?

4 ) plus lower definition on a computer!

All in all its a mega stupid idea in my opinion, which has highly annoyed me!

  7. Heres some news about the takeover, anyone have any views on this?.......

The Football League issued a statement on Monday saying that discussions with the League Two side regarding their ownership structure were ongoing.

But County say they expect a statement of satisfaction with the takeover to by released by the League on Tuesday.

A Football League spokesman said: "We have received Fit and Proper Persons documentation. Discussions are ongoing with regard to the club's ownership structure."

"We're putting significant funding into a League Two club, which has not happened before and because of that we have to go through perhaps more hoops than any other football club would do."

The Magpies have barely been out of the news since Middle East consortium Munto Finance bought the club during the summer and installed former England manager Sven-Goran Eriksson as director of football.

  8. I have a thing for football logos, when I was a kid I pretty much followed teams based on these. (not support but shown an interest in how they was doing) I also grown a liking to arsenal because they had stripey socks but which would you say is your top five?

  9. I'm happy to say I've finally managed to attend a game and work couldn't get in my way. :D

First half we was really good right up to the goal they scored, we just didn't defend!!! It was annoying to watch the players drop and allow Torquay and poor old hughes having to have a bash at defending, it was just so disappointing that I'm unable to say how bad it was.

It was like watching forest!! ;)

Struggling Torquay mounted a courageous fight-back to ****** a point at big-spending Notts County.

A composed 16-yard strike from Craig Westcarr and a brilliant Ben Davies free-kick had put the home team 2-0 ahead and seemingly destined for their fifth home win of the League Two season.

  10. Notts was beaten by Bradford in penalties 3 goals to 2. I can't say that overly bothered, as I'm glad some of our bigger names didn't get wasted playing. (injuries which could be saved for league) but a good outing no doubt for those who went, facey and westcarr our scorers.

  11. Elvis Hammond's late equaliser denied Notts County victory at Cheltenham.

Luke Rodgers fired the Magpies in front with a clinical finish after latching on to a long ball from Brendan Moloney.

Cheltenham responded well and grazed the top of County's bar through Michael Townsend's volley before Barry Hayles rattled a post with a fierce strike.

Hammond levelled the scores with 15 minutes left, the striker spinning to fire in from close range after Julian Alsop flicked on Lee Ridley's throw.

    News Report

Sadly the football league show only shown the goal (well taken) and the equalizer which appeared to be offside to me. Hammond looked to be past our last defender, swing back as the ball came across and he managed to latch on. If he was or not I cannot say and until we get more fans on here, I doubt I'll ever know.

  12. Luke Rodgers bagged himself his first goal in tonight game and also his first hattrick for county. :D

I was impressed with luke during the pre-season friendlies and I'm also a strong believer that if a player gives 100% sooner or later there day will come and tonight it was lukes.

  13. Two goals by Lee Hughes helped Notts County end a week of upsets on a positive note.

Hughes's first, his eighth of the season, was a header from a Johnnie Jackson cross, before Marc Richards levelled with a penalty.

County went back in front when Hughes netted another spot kick, after John McCombe brought down Luke Rodgers.

Hughes was also involved in the third when, under pressure from him, Lee Collins put the ball into his own net.

I was so chuffed when I received the final score in text by cheeky, I was hoping that we'd come back and surprise, surprise we shown excellent quality and no need for sol.

Also I loved Micky Adams comment about "lying over and being tickled" + putting his players on the transfer market. :P

  15. The former England centre-back joined the Midlands club after holding talks during the day, and is due to be presented to the media at Meadow Lane on Tuesday.

Campbell has become the club’s highest profile signing since Sven-Goran Eriksson was appointed as director of football this summer.

When county actually announce this it will be very big for the club, couple more might follow before the deadline and lets hope he comes with his passion and not just his wallet.

  16. Title says it all, name you favourite one.

    The one I own.. England%20shirt%202000.jpg

My favourite of all time, is the 1966 red one. I have one from 2000's which looks almost like it with modern fittings etc.

    Yours?

  17. Sol Campbell's first game for Notts County ended in defeat as Morecambe secured their first win of the season in thrilling fashion.

Morecambe dominated the first half and took the lead when Jim Bentley headed home Ian Craney's left-wing corner.

Craney was again the creator for the second goal, his free-kick converted by Paul Mullin at the near post.

Ben Davies' drive gave County hope but the same player and Craig Westcarr were both denied by the post late on.

I managed to watch the live text on the magpie player, couldn't help but feel it was a one sided game as they appeared to be having a lot of shots and most of the possession. It's a shame the highlights wasn't up to much cop on the "football league show" would of been nice to see if we did give them any sort of game.

  18. Lee Hughes hit his second hat-trick of the season as Notts County hammered 10-man Northampton at Meadow Lane.

Alex Dyer put the Cobblers in front from close range before a header from debutant Matt Ritchie and a smart strike from Hughes turned things round.

Hughes added another header and Ritchie hit his second before Chris McCready saw red for a foul on Karl Hawley, with Hughes scoring the resulting penalty.

Andrew Holt hit a late consolation for the managerless Cobblers.

Good result to sum the game up but I can't help but feel we should be doing better in other games. I'm not expecting us to walk the league or win every game for that matter. We just appear to storm games, scrape a win or a draw and not bother turning up at all. We should be more stronger as a team and for whatever reason I hope we try to get a bit more consistent.

    ~Joe

  19. An 85th-minute strike from substitute Richard Walker earned Burton a deserved point and ended Notts County's 100% home record.

The Magpies edged in front with their first effort on target when Karl Hawley raced on to a clever pass by Jamie Clapham and chipped over Artur Krysiak.

Burton equalised when Walker controlled the ball neatly in the box and turned to fire past Kasper Schmeichel.

And Burton's Jacques Maghoma almost won it but his late effort hit the post.

Close ending, it's always hard playing local derby matches and burton are equal to the points. It's a shame we didn't manage to secure the points, yet a draw isn't all that bad.

  21. Barnet 1 v 0 Notts County

Very unlucky that the only goal went in within the 90th minute, I haven't yet seen the highlights but I've heard we played okay and kasper went mental with conceding the goal. LOL

  22. What do you guys think?

will Ronaldo become a better player at Madrid or is at all down hill when you leave the best team in the world?

  23. hi, super ram here may i introduce myself as a lifelong ramsfan.perhaps not the place you'd expect to find me but i'd like to wish Notts well with the exciting times that appear to be ahead.older fans will remember that Notts & Rams had good times at a similar time under cloughie & sirrel.Unfortunately we also shared a decline.lets hope the good times are on the way back.i'm sure most maggie fans will want us to win on sat?

  24. Hey guys my name is Bob and I am a fun of Manchester United and ofcourse my national soccer team (Netherlands :P). I am 15 years, live in the US but was born and lived 10 years in The Netherlands. I found this nice forum via a friend so I will give it a try ;).

  25. Interesting outcome as I hear boro fans was chanting "sven" during the cup game. I don't think it quite worked though, since forest managed to win for the first time since the new season began.

My friends will be hoping a league win will come soon..

    Forest 2 - Boro 1

Poor result for them, good for our arch rivals.
