Interesting decision to sack Ferguson and appoint a female manager, at least they haven’t pinched our manager this time.

They're out of their minds, FGR will go downhill rapidly. All because their chairman is starting to want to feel like Elon Musk. 😂

As Jimmy Greaves used to say "It's a funny old game" I bet FGR fans aren't laughing though.Very strange.

Brave man to be sacking Big Dunc this early on into his contract 😬

If anyone was gonna appoint a female into the Men's game, FGR would have definitely been at the top of everyone's list. They're that sort of club to be "unique" 😅

@Fan of Big Tone I'm surprised they haven't tried poaching LW, they certainly have a habit of trying to do that 😅

Hannah Dingley worked in the Notts Academy earlier in her career. She has all the credentials and I hope she succeeds. There will be plenty of neanderthals hoping that she fails.

@Dripsey3,I have no problem with Hannah Dingley being appointed , just the timing of Duncan  Ferguson's departure.

The owner is a bit strange. He reminds me of Elon Musk. This is one of his better decisions. He has to back the manager now with a decent budget.

So if  this decision doesn't work out to the owners satisfaction  @Dripsey3 we all know who to blame..I hope Ms Dingley is given money and time and wish her success.

Forest Green Rovers are more of a gimmick club than Salford City. Their decision to sack a long-term contracted manager is poor, despite my praise for appointing a female head coach. Hannah Dingley is the caretaker manager, but this may not be a long-term plan. It seems to be for press coverage and makes no sense. I don't see how Dingley will be the right person to lead them into a new season, and this could end up worse than Ian Burchnall.

This is bizarre; I can’t understand why they would hire a manager on a 5-year-deal then sack them. I bet it’s a good payday for Ferguson.

the club seems to be going backwards, rather than forwards from their promotion to the football league.

i think their owner is more like alan hardy, full of himself and makes decisions for his own gains and not the fans or club. both dont like "meat" in the public eye. 🤮

You couldn’t make this up. Something has happened, and it reflects poorly on the club. They will struggle if they don’t replace Ferguson.

The decision made by the FGR chairman is strange and one that he will be paying for. The club has become somewhat of a joke. Hiring Ian Burchnall, with Michael Doyle in League One, they needed someone with more experience and stronger leadership skills. I hate to say it, but they will be relegated if they don’t appoint a proper manager. I’m not being sexist, but if you’ve never managed before, you need to have something special about you. I don’t think this quality is found within but rather appointed.

I am surprised that they haven’t already appointed a new manager at this stage; it makes you wonder what’s going on. If they struggle, it will be one less team to worry about this season.
