sit or stand? away games 🤦🏻‍♂️

some of the comments from fans is quite embarrassing, i have been to every away game this season and countless times i have had my view blocked. not everyone can stand for 90 minutes, i can but choose to sit because i dont want to block other fans views. i do this out of respect, which some fans seem to forget that our fanbase needs to get along with each other. yet there are some calling those who sit, which is just silly.

those who want to stand just go to the back of the stands, allow the front to see.

notts fans cant help but being embarrassing at times.

I certainly wouldn’t be able to stand for a whole match and would be very annoyed if fans block my view, good job I don’t go to away matches.

It’s disheartening to see some Notts fans taking offence when asked to show respect. There’s a hint of selfishness in this behaviour, which I find unpleasant. I have no issue with people standing, as long as they don’t obstruct my view of the match. While it doesn’t often happen to me, fans should be considerate of others. The fact that the police need to issue a statement to remind people to think of other fans speaks volumes. So much for unity.

I'm in full agreement liampie, there are lots of not only Notts fans that can't stand for the full 90, due to age or disabilities and these Fans shouldn't have their view impeded nor suffer ridicule from more able bodied Fans. Come on Guys remember you to will be Old  too one day. And think on this would you like some grotty Herbert giving your old Dad/Mum or Grandad/Nan a hard time because he/she can't stand ?

It’s not just Notts fans or football fans in general, I think society as a whole has developed a selfish mindset over the years, there isn’t much empathy around these days sadly.

I was sad to see terracing go at Notts, I loved the new ground when it replaced the old, and now I prefer to sit down, but for me to take away the choice from fans to either sit or stand didn't fit right with me.

Of course fans have to be safe however, safe standing areas could have been made available years ago, and of course, limiting the number standing in an area to ensure their safety.

The way the stands are designed at meadow lane I'm wandering where they would put the safe standing areas now to ensure everyone gets a good view. It may need a lot of expense. We will have to see what happens with this.

If I can, I'll just move because it saves the hassle of repeatedly asking someone to sit down or try to view the game from over their position. I tend to try to sit at the back, so I can choose to stand or sit but within an area you can still see games.

For me, it's not the hardest situation to resolve: allow people to stand at the back but if they do so where a seat isn't or down the front - simply tell them to sit or stand by the rules by removing them from the ground. If you give someone the chance to make the right decision, then it's their fault if they end up being unable to watch the game. Obviously, fans should be given a chance to relocate to a more suitable area if they choose to stand.

At Wembley, it really pis**d me off how the first three rows would stand throughout moments of the game when there was no reason to do it.

It caused tension for me, as I would arch to view over them or occasionally stand, and I had a couple of aggressive comments telling me to sit down. To my credit, I never blocked anyone's view for a long spell and very rarely stood up completely. If I did, I would always check to see if people behind me were standing. The issue in this case is it's the wrong people who get verbally abused for trying to see the game.

I stand at away games, but I never obstruct anyone’s view. I always make sure to check before I stand, and I never sit near the bottom. Typically, I’m with other fans who are standing. I think it’s common sense not to sit lower and block the view. I’ve seen many fans standing in areas where there are no seats, which is more about our time in the non-league where clubs are more relaxed. I don’t think anyone should do this in league games now. The front is usually where the inebriated fans hang out.

The club has grown so much that things like this seemed inevitable. But remember how united we were last season, enjoying a successful promotion campaign. Fans just need to use some common sense. Those who are selfish and choose to stand without consideration are likely not true fans. If you want to stand, do so at the back, but don’t start arguments with those who choose to sit, and vice versa.

I get why fans might be annoyed, and it's easy to assume which section of our fans is causing the issue. But as a fan base, Notts has to get a grip, and everyone should try their best to be considerate. I wouldn't want to pay for a game, especially with the away travel, and have my view obstructed. It's not rocket science to stand where others are, so I'm a bit lost for words now.

Occurrences like this make me despair about people's thoughts. I believe our time in the non-league has influenced some fans negatively, but we should strive to treat others well. If they can't, stewards should intervene.

Notts County supporters have turned away games into a special occasion, something to anticipate even when the team is in poor form. While winning and good performances enhance the experience, I often find myself obstructed by taller individuals, typically in their mid-20s to early 30s, who seem more interested in socialising than supporting Notts. Some of our fans are embarrassing and lack a connection with fellow supporters.
