Some people say he's lazy, but he could play in the Championship if he tried harder. He sounds like the kind of player we used to sign under Trew. We hoped we'd find a hidden gem. It will be interesting to see if Notts is the right place for him and if he'll work hard here. I don't care about his past. Everyone makes mistakes, and if he doesn't do it again, I don't hold it against him.

A bit from Stuart Maynard addressing the controversy.

Notts County boss Stuart Maynard says Jevani Brown "is trying to become a better person" after admitting to assaulting a woman last year.

He explains the club's reasons for signing him, it's slightly more reassuring. I hope the statement about him getting help was genuine and not just a token gesture.

I was hopeful that he could be a valuable asset to the team. Despite his recent challenges, I saw potential in him. If we can maintain his motivation, it will undoubtedly benefit the team.

Regarding his past, I'm keen to examine the actual court documents. I'm concerned that the media coverage may be sensationalized, focusing on his profession rather than the incident itself. While physical altercations are unacceptable, it's important to consider both sides of the story.

He looked promising, I don't think Notts would have signed a bad egg when our squad is very positive. I know Portsmouth fans wondered if he tended to throw his toys out of the pram if he didn't get his own way, but I can see this loan being a fresh start for him.

What concerns me is if he does pick up in form, will he be recalled and would that leave us short in the attacking department?

It's why having a young striker on your books is usually a blessing for this option. At least then we can fall back onto them, but then there are other players who can play up top.

I think that comment might relate to him getting help with an alcohol problem. He's not the only Notts player to have had problems there. Hope he moves on and does well with us - if there are any issues, back he goes.

I mean, it doesn’t look good as to what happened. I won’t judge him for it. I think everyone can make a mistake, and I hope that’s what it is. I thought he looked good. His wiki page isn’t the most glamorous, but I guess it depends on where he has played mostly.

I hope the loan turns out to be useful. It’s hard to see where he’ll get regular game time, as cover is what Notts needed most. I hope he’s ready to fight for the team and his career, rather than wasting the opportunity.
