There don't even seem to be any rumours anymore. What happens if nobody meets the Trew's asking price?

Everything seems to have gone quiet, there were buyers here there and everywhere when it was announced but now we haven't a clue, even Ray has came out and told us something was going to happen for it not to, your guess is as good as mine, I don't think we will be sold this season at all

Ray said via Twitter that there were two interested parties and both had met his asking price.  That was about two weeks ago, all gone very quiet since.

I'll throw some questions to bring in constructive discussion.

How serious is Mr Trew about selling? - at what point does he consider lower offers?

Amongst all the rumours about how the clubs been up for sale, why haven't we seen anything solid apart from Alan Hardy leaked into the media and why did the 'Hedge Fund' pull out publicly last minute?

There will always be rumours, just filtering the truth out is harder - right now it's gone all silent as it tends to do. If we (fans) mention it, someone, somewhere will make comments about it and it regains interest. The Nottingham Post have really lead the line with regards to covering it, yet most of what they publish I take with a pinch of salt. I tend to get asked a lot if they're making stories up but who knows? We can only go on habits, rumours and our own opinions.

I've said from day one I don't think the takeover is likely to happen, at least not without someone giving way.

Personally, considering there's rumours about the amount of money the club is losing - I would have felt this would make it important to try and move the sale along positively. So I'm not sure about that, yet I do hope the sale of the club was a serious thing and not just one of those moments we tend to see. Much like banning the Post for publishing the story of Branston v Ricardo.

one of which pulled out stating medium to low investment was not sustainable for notts.

the asian cooperation may just be like the danish, american etc. i believe interest was expressed but i am unsure about how genuine it was or if people decided to let their imaginations run a way with them. it must happen before the end of the season, i wont be able to take the club seriously if it does not. at least without a reasonable excuse.

Should have accepted Hardy's bid.

Ray comes across as passionate when he wants to be, he has done a lot for the club but rational thinking goes stray. He has a tendency to say what we want to hear or read I am afraid. Who knows what is going on with the takeover? It may not happen.

And if it doesn't, what then. Will debt just pile up?

Think it's time for an official statement from the owners , said it before , to much left to speculation and social media banter,  for want of a better term , from 'interested parties ' , who really are interested in owning the club , please stand up .

I've got 0 trust in 'The Phoenix'. What he says and what actually happens are usually two different things.

So when he says 2 buyers have met his asking price, do I believe him? No.

Well if Ray has put someone else to handle the takeover, could this person be the problem? We all know what Ray is like when selecting people to carry out tasks.

Just because 2 buyers have met the asking price it doesn't mean that they will  continue with their interest and actually put their money where their mouth is.One potential buyer has dropped out but I'm as bemused as any Notts fan as to what happens next.

I know I,m over in Ireland, but where is the story about one of the two bidders pulling out?.I know I asked on MAD was Sukhi the lead person for this group when he said big investment was needed & he could get more investors,so rightly or wrongly put 2+2 together & asked the question.RT sufaced on twitter after it first came out about Sukh,& by what he said thinking about it was to also dismiss him the same as AH.

Patience is a wonderful thing, yes I want to know what is going off the same as the next person, but what will be will be.We can speculate all we like, nobody but RT knows what is going off.

I don't know what to think anymore, just wish something positive would happen soon.

Something better happen Soon, Season ticket sales are a must. Being in Limbo won't help

Well if nobody deal comes forward, surely this will plan into Alan Hardy's hands? I don't think he should express any interest at this stage, also we don't know if he's referring to the 'future'. There's still no news on this final interested party from Asia but if he remains in the background, it may give him a chance when things are reflected upon. The longer the takeover continues, the more uncertainty there will be around the club.

It was a strange message from Alan H, as in he still thinks he will be the owner of Notts one day, but accepts that RT will not sell to him.

There doesn't appear to be any news on the takeover at all, The Post correspondent doesn't know anything and I doubt Uncle Col does. It may be that things are just taking a little longer, but it is very odd that nothing has been leaked out by either party.

It really needs to be sorted by the end of the season otherwise nobody will know what to do, the budget will probably be bare bones and that could really make us struggle.

I think season ticket sales will suddenly get a boost, if MC gets a contract for next season, not necessarily if there are new owners.

Well fancy that! ;)

Not much we can do but wait. Most Notts fans have experienced takeover sagas before, and experience tells us that these things always take longer than planned.

I don't feel confident about the new owners being unveiled in the coming days, but that's a gut feeling. The fact that Ray Trew has made a number of key appointments at the club during this process (first team manager, CEO) indicates to me that he's not confident either, but maybe I'm reading into things a bit too much.

His chairman notes would make interesting reading, if he had not of stopped writing them. If he is not confident about selling the club, he may need to lower is expectations a little.

Must say I tend to agree with you , don't know what to think , all this time which I guess you could say isn't that long in the grand scheme of things , I think someone somewhere would have let something out about being interested in the club , apart from AH I mean , without it breaching confidentiality,  the whole saga is a worry I feel .

well if you say its up for sale, its up for sale. just proving hard to complete.
