League Two managers 2018-19

Featured Replies

Few new managers in League Two this year. Ryan Lowe, Joe Dunne and Dean Austin have all been appointed permanent managers after being in caretaker charge. Carlisle, Exeter, MK and Oldham have all appointed new managers. Macclesfield are the only team without a manager after John Askey left for Shrewsbury. 16 teams start the season with the manager they finished last season with. What are your thoughts? Which managers do you think will struggle? Who will be the first manager sacked?

Bury: Ryan Lowe

Cambridge United: Joe Dunne

Carlisle United: John Sheridan

Cheltenham Town: Gary Johnson

Colchester United: John McGreal

Crawley Town: Harry Kewell

Crewe Alexandra: David Artell

Exeter City: Matt Taylor

Forest Green Rovers: Mark Cooper

Grimsby Town: Michael Jolley

Lincoln City: Danny Cowley

Macclesfield Town: Vacant

Mansfield Town: David Flitcroft

Milton Keynes: Paul Tisdale

Morecambe: Jim Bentley

Newport County: Mike Flynn

Northampton Town: Dean Austin

Notts County: Kevin Nolan

Oldham Athletic: Frankie Bunn

Port Vale: Neil Aspin

Stevenage: Dino Maamria

Swindon Town: Phil Brown

Tranmere Rovers: Micky Mellon

Yeovil Town: Darren Way

This is my pick for the first managerial casualty of League Two during the 2018/19 season.

I think Carlisle United will be alright even with John Sheridan as their manager. There's less managers who shout 'promotion' within the list and this season seems fairly average in terms of that. I'm also curious how long Harry Kewell will last before he's sacked, I hope he does well but it just seems like one of them situations where an ex pro won't succeed with the team he's managing.

A field where dreams become reality.

I would put my savings on Flitcroft getting the sack before Christmas, think Tisdale will do well with a bit more budget and more status. Mark Cooper is doing fine work at FGR and I think Morecambe are doomed for relegation.

David Flitcroft's signings so far have me thinking he will go too.

I think Cowley will go, his side has peaked and I can't see them doing much better.

Oh oh oh ohhhhh, everywhere where we go, watching super County putting on a show!

I agree, the way their fans have reacted to signing Neal Bishop. It makes me cringe!!

Joe Dunne, I think he's useless.

TBF I think several times that did well this season may struggle next season, I fail to see how Mansfield are building a squad capable of promotion too.
