How does Notts improve defensively?

Would the solution be signing an experienced keeper on loan? Someone to take the reigns from Fitzsimons and to push him to be more improved. Is it a simple issue that can corrected in training?

Or does the defence need strengthening itself.

If so, what position is required?

I think training would help, discipline and maintaining focus also.

Unfortunately, I have lost faith after seeing Ross Fitzsimons today. We need a stronger keeper, someone with more experience.

I feel that there is a strong case towards loaning a keeper, Fitzsimons doesn't look ready to take the responsibility and I would argue that it was the form the club was in previously that helped him last season.

Defensively I think we will be okay if the players focus on staying switched on.

Brisley was unlike himself today, very poor and always looked out of it.

take the armband from duffy, sign a keeper on loan to replace fitzsimons and make the defence train for longer sessions.

Can't we strap a football detector to the heads of the defenders to keep them focused?

I don't know, we all knew every area needed strengthening in the summer but Kevin Nolan insisted that the current players are good enough together. ????‍♂️

I know Joe Worrall from Forest is available for loan. we need to shake things up at the back and I think Brisely is the problem, also need a keeper as I don't have faith in Fitz at all im afraid just my opinion, Jordan Smith across the trent also look available for loan so might be worth trying to sweet talk the Reds up to give us a helping hand.

Shaun Brisley is fine, he had an off day and I would give them more defensive drills in training.

Get a CB and GK in on loan. Play Hall or Bird then play Duffy alongside. Had enough of Brisley after what I've just seen. Giraffe.

Work on discipline and defensive shape in training. Don't know why we didn't get Johnny Mullins

I don't blame Shaun Brisley for having a bad game.

I think he and Richard Duffy need to work stronger on their partnership, I do feel an experienced keeper would make the difference. Hopefully training and this will fix some of the shocking mistakes that are occurring.

I don't think Brisley is the issue.

He has been solid for the most part of last season, I think it's a lack of application and the fitness doesn't seem to be as good. I think the squad misses Mike Edwards.

I think we do need a new keeper if just to give fitzy a runnfor the number one spot.

If a keeper can come in on loan it might help Ross Fitzsimons.

If it doesn't, at least Notts should be stronger at the back. How many loans does the club currently have? Until Kevin Nolan makes his move lets try to encourage the players.

They need to keep the line which Kevin Nolan has spoken about several times last season, pull in closely and markup to the players near them. If only we knew how to park the bus, this would be the ultimate in strengthening the defence.

Tonight shows that the defence still needs further work and it won't do Fitzsimons any good to have had another 3 goals knocked past him, but I feel the rest can be improved on if they think of tonight's game as a positive.

Earlier I would have said something completely different.
