Nottingham has lost some grand pubs over the years, big plots turned into small apartments and in the city turned into even more shops. It makes no sense at times.

Expected to see the White Hart in Arnold on the list to be honest. I used to go in there a fair bit back in the 90s. Now has a Lidl on the site. Same with the Porchester Arms on Woodborough Road, a place I often visited in my early 20s.

Been in many of them over the years, The Globe had a lot of potential but is hurt by the limited parking.

why do they have to become shops and other things that there's already a lot of. flats make sense because it houses people but the building should be Incorporated.

I have many happy memories of this pub as it wasΒ was our regular Friday after work haunt in the early 90s when my old company had an office on Highfield's Science Park. We used to finish at 5:30 and around 20 of us would descend on the place for a couple of hours.Β

I heard it used to be a regular for Notts fans in the 80s before home games, I forget where the other one is or was, but both are no longer 'pubs'.

Would that be the old Magpies pub on Daleside Road? I used to go in there before home games as it was just at the end of Meadow Lane. The site is now a KFC & Harley Davidson garage.

@Fozzy possible, i was shown it in a frame in a different pub by a few of our fans who was telling me about the 80s and so on.

No it wasn't this, although I swear it was shown in the Cross Keys pub.

Some good pubs lost over the years, The Globe was a waste of time trying to reopen and it shows how well The Embankment has done with riving theirs.
