  4. @super_ram I'm tempted to try to see if I can get you to give it, @Fan of Big Tone. I do like the 'capped by PON' though.

  5. Well that's settled then and now tell us how you feel after being 'capped' by PoN @Fan of Big Tone

  6. They won’t have a new manager before playing us so that’s a positive. It’s not always the case that a new manager guarantees a better result, but I always think players will usually try that bit harder to impress a new boss. They’re aren’t very good at scoring and recently starting conceding, probably because they’re trying to rectify their goal troubles and have pushed a few more forward leaving them more vulnerable at the back – I hope that’s the case anyway! We always seem to react well after a big defeat, the team will want to get straight back on track. I seem to remember after the Dorking loss we played York (who were no pushovers) we ran like 1/3 more than usual (maybe I made that figure up) but we definitely ran more than normal! I think the conversation afterwards was about how out-working the opponent always gives you a better chance of getting a good result. Same sort of reaction would be fab. Yeah I’m really hoping Bostock is fit too, guess we'll know when the pre-match press conference is out. Cameron should be back, I’m sure Luke said they found out he was unavailable on the morning. Suggests to me he was ill, It would be really unlucky/freakish to pick up an injury at home!

  9. That’s very generous of you @Chris thank you , I was going to buy one from the shop but I’ll make a donation to PoN instead.

  10. I hope Bostock is OK. We lose a lot when he doesn't play, especially the calm and leadership that he brings to the side. Jones and Cameron are also important, and I feel our chances decrease if either or both of those are missing too. I think it will be a tough old game and I would be surprised if we come away with any more than a draw. I really hope that a defeat doesn't cause unrest and if it does, it really speaks more about the fans than the team. It's my local game and my partner brought the whole family (mainly West Ham fans) tickets for my birthday, so I can't wait.

  11. Their form has massively dropped off, yet ours hasn't been that perfect but unlike normally, we have still managed not to lose much ground near the top. Only moving to 2nd, which isn't something that happens for us often. When I look at the tables and recent scores, I have this feeling it will end up as a draw. Either team has the capability to win, I would favour us more, but it depends largely on how we play. If we don't defend well or if the midfield doesn't do their job, then Gillingham won't struggle to create chances. If Gillingham tries to make it hard to use the flanks, we need to be more creative with our passing around the centre of the park, moving and making space - see how it opens without relying on taking it all the way back to the keeper. I believe Aidan Stone will return, it seemed a tactical decision to start Sam Slocombe against Mansfield. A defeat I feel would lead to some unrest and really, I think we need to take whatever outcome happens on the chin. I do hope we see an improved performance, where those who attend feel the players gave everything.

  12. Hopefully Notts will be back to full strength with Cameron and Jones back, it’ll be interesting to see if he brings Stone back, Notts have lost every game Slocombe has played in, is that his fault? Do the defenders trust Stone more and are therefore more comfortable with him?

  17. There have been significant improvements to the PON themes. All three options have been updated and enhanced further to ease the navigation of our website. PON provides members and visitors with three theme options. On desktops, the navigation has been changed to include 'content feeds'. This change has been made to reflect on helping people to navigate the sites more. It also includes the option to create a steam of your own custom preference. Content Feeds > My Activity Streams > "Create New Stream". There's also Unread, content I started, Content I follow, members I follow and content I posted in. Our navigation menu may be tweaked further to improve the navigation layout. In addition to our floating menu at the bottom of our pages, the main navigation also flows down across all three theme versions to give you even better control. With the 'all activities' tab now appearing at the very top of the mobile navigation, it means the dashboard page comes into the footer menu for easy convenience. Whilst this might not be the most exciting news, it is a practical step forward and one which should make life easier when trying to navigate the Pride of Nottingham. As always, please report any issues that you may experience here. In addition to our reading up about the site's recent maintenance. Thank you, Pride of Nottingham team.

We'll pick up with round 14, with these matches kicking off at 3pm on Saturday. Good luck and remember your jokers! 21. Next up Notts travel to Gillingham. How many links between the two clubs can we find, players, coaches, managers, tea ladies etc. Heres one to start Vadain Oliver joined Notts on loan in 2016 and scored one goal in 18 matches he later ended up at Gillingham in 2020. Join in and find a link.

  22. Stuart Nelson, joined them after leaving us. Dropped back into League 2 but I think he got promoted with them.

  26. @Fan of Big Tone I bought a Notts cap for a prize ages ago, but I never used it. Would you like it? It's the one you can purchase from the club store. I just looked on the official online store, it's neither of those current ones. This is black, with the clubs actual badge on the front. I don't want anything for it, I would happily give it you because it needs a nice home.

  27. He should have stuck with Gateshead, with how MK Dons fans are right now they won't give him long to turn things around and the club needs a few signings to really give them the strength overall needed to push on. They've got a talented squad, but defensively and in midfield they could be a lot better. Good luck to him.

  31. It’s indeed beneficial to be aware of the menu and activity streams. I’ll certainly utilise them during my site visits. The ‘all content’ activity stream is a particularly nice feature.

  32. It's something I have mentioned but the inbuilt menu, well it looked horrible if you included the streams. You needed to press the tab! Absolutely! It made sense to make the changes.

  33. very nice sensible changes, which will hopefully make it easier for people. i have no issue but having a tab for all the different feeds does sound like a very useful thing to do. i never knew there was so many or the option to create my own!

  34. I’m thrilled about the match taking place at Meadow Lane. I’d be let down if it were elsewhere, but really, we should just be content with the first round. The league, particularly our current form, is of utmost concern, but a cup match could boost morale and help us get back on track.

  36. It’s always a pleasure to have a home draw. I don’t pay much heed to who our opponents are. I believe there’s no such thing as a bad match-up.

  37. James Belshaw is a fair goalkeeper, I’m uncertain if he’s quite up to the Football League standard but I always wish a former Notts player well. I hope he performs well with Forest Green.

  38. It doesn’t seem like Forest Green required a goalie, but best wishes to the former Notts lad.

  39. This is my lucky hat which has been to just about every match with me for the last 30 years. I remember the day I bought it in a charity shop on the Isle of Wight as soon as I saw it I knew I had to have it. Sadly it has now seen better days so it really does have to go. Goodbye old friend.
