New figures released by the FA show that Notts County are paid the fourth-highest amount of money in agent fees over the last year, the total standing at £76,426.
Indeed, four Midlands clubs make up the top four - Coventry City top (£113,620), Mansfield Town second (£85,940), Chesterfield third (£80,477) and then Notts.
What do you make of this news?
With the season coming to an end, the EFL have announced most of their yearly award nominations, as well as naming their teams of the season.
Unfortunately, Notts County haven't got one player in the League Two team of the season, nor have any players been nominated for the player of the season award.
Here is the League Two POTS shortlist:
Adebayo Akinfenwa (Wycombe), Mohamed Eisa (Cheltenham), Billy Kee (Accrington Stanley)
And this is the team of the season:
Do you buy/receive Easter eggs? We only buy for our grandchildren one large one each and some small ones for an Easter egg hunt. We don’t buy our grown up son one and we don’t receive any.
Our daughter in laws family always buy the adults Easter eggs too, she buys one for her mother and her grown up brother and receives one from each of them.
What’s the tradition in your family?

What line-up should Kevin Nolan opt for? What will be the key areas for the Magpies to get a victory? What do you think the final score will be?

I think our man ARLukomski says it best... compare their front line with our front line and it highlights the difference between Accy - a bona fide promotion chaser - and Notts, who will be lucky to make the playoffs.
Likewise, I think it'll probably see them running out comprehensive winners over us - 3-1 is my bet.
Yeah, but they've done well for us - I don't get this Shola Ameobi witch hunt.
The issue is the fact the club hasn't signed a replacement and refuses to use a very capable forward in Forte, Nolan has some major stubborn issues which I have been pointing out all season. I think we can do well against Accrington but it's all related to how we play, we can't blame the forward and I know @ARLukomski isn't suggesting this but quite a few seem to be.
Just remember that without the options we have, we'd be doing much poorer.
I'm going for a 2-1 away win.

The Shola witch hunt I agree is ridiculous, Forte is never going to be good enough imo, best as a last 25 min sub.
Looking forward to Husin & Walker this afternoon, but wtf is Virtue doing anywhere near a shirt?
Ross Fitzsimons!

I know some people are fed up with hearing KN say this but to be honest I agree with him. I’ve been a supporter for over 50 years so I’ve just about seen everything. We’ve had a fantastic season when we went into the top three expectations were raised and now some people are showing their disappointment and frustration that we’ve dipped in form but I can’t understand the constant criticism on twitter and Facebook.
For me I’d be elated if we finish in the top three and go up automatic, if we went up via playoffs would be fantastic but if we slip out of the play offs and don’t go up I will still be thinking what a great season we’ve had.
The run in will be difficult we need everyone onboard including the fans to help get us over the line, so let’s all get behind AH, KN and the team and make that final push but if for whatever reason we don’t make it lets applaud them for a great season and be grateful for how far we’ve come.

Our goalkeeper gets a lot of stick on social media so I thought it would be nice to give him credit for the great one handed save he made yesterday against Wycombe to keep us in the game.
I know goalkeepers are paid to make saves and I know he has made mistakes in the past, he may not be your first choice keeper but at the moment he’s Nolan’s so as I say credit where it’s due it was a great save. Agreed?

As the title suggests anyone know what kids activities there are in the family stand tomorrow or have they been cancelled / stopped now?
I ask as it's not published on the website like they have done in the past

On this day in 2005, Stefan Oakes hit an absolute screamer from 40 yards for Notts County in a 3-1 win at League Two leaders Yeovil Town, which was rounded off by goals from Glynn Hurst and Mark Stallard.
Here is the strike in all its glory!

Depends what Notts side turns up really. Having Hall back will be a boost but morale has surely taken a battering given County's inconsistent form - looking over the last couple weeks, we're not doing "badly", just not doing well enough for promotion to be realistic. Obviously a win will put us right back in contention for the top three but I feel it'll end as a draw at best. Hope I am proven wrong!
Make or break game. All 3 results are equally likely IMO.

Lets have Ross back in goal please
Win or bust. If we don't win, for me our automatic promotion hopes are over. Nolan HAS GOT to start taking some responsibility. Just because he's played in the Prem and has done well so far doesn't mean he is untouchable. Drop the underperformers. Collin out, Duffy out, Dickinson out, Hawkridge out. You know what, Noble out as well since I don't actually remember him doing anything whatsoever against Chesterfield. Ameobi out as he looks so uninterested it's actually quite scary.
Bring in Fitzsimons, Hall, Jones, Alessandra, Husin and Forte

Plus you know you're sh1te when the only option you have is Matty Virtue.
When Hewitt sees his missus he's probably in 2 minds to hoof her up the pitch aswell because that's all he does. Grant and Hawkridge were ineffective, again. Infact I don't know what's happened to Grant since Christmas because he's not turned up in 2018. We're toothless in attack and we have no plan B.
We're never going to have a plan B as long as Nolan continues this obsession of substituting a player for one in exactly the same position. The first player didn't work, so what on earth makes him think that another will, doing exactly the same thing is so maddening!
Take a chance in games, we could have had a lot more points by being a bit more adventurous at times, especially against lower table opposition.
Notts County have published their season ticket prices for 2018-19 "with adult prices frozen, huge savings for young adults and an exciting offer for juniors".

Sky Sports twice tipped Notts County for the League Two title over the course of the season, which we have discussed on the forum.
With just eight games left, they've downgraded their prediction in what I would assume is the last predictor of the season, and the Magpies are now tipped to finish fifth.
This is what they say:
The stats-based Sky Sports Predictor is tipping Accrington to go on to win Sky Bet League Two this season.
Accrington's incredible rise has seen them jump above long-time leaders Luton at the top of the table, and the predictor is backing them to go on to win the title and promotion.
The Hatters and Wycombe, who currently sit second and third, have been tipped to hold onto those spots, while the play-off places look set to be filled by the current incumbents of Mansfield, Notts County, Exeter and Coventry.
And here is their final look table.
Thoughts on this latest prediction?

I think we will go up in the automatic but it will depend on if Wycombe win their game in hand. If they loose that I think we will get that last automatic spot. But I think County have turned a corner and have got momentum back that they had at the beginning of the season. Hope fully not the playoff route that won’t do us any favours the automatic I think is our route up.

Today, 15 March, is the anniversary of Jackie Sewell's world-record transfer to Sheffield Wednesday from Notts County.
Sewell, one of the finest forwards of his generation, went to Hillsborough in 1951 for £35,000 (many sources have it as £34,500 but this is not accurate - the cheque which the Owls gave to Notts has the first figure on).
Football site SoccerAttic dug out this piece from Charles Buchan’s Football Monthly no. 199 March 1968 discussing the transfer.
Here is the link to the online piece and below is the original article! Enjoy!

Football quarterly "The Blizzard" has published a comprehensive account of the Notts County Munto Era - it's a long read but a worthwhile one definitely.
Meadow Lane is a happy place to be at the moment. Notts County are in the running for promotion back to League One and everyone is pulling in the same direction. Under Kevin Nolan their progress on the pitch has been relatively serene and, with the backing of the local businessman Alan Hardy, the club’s future seems secure. Hardy completed his takeover last January, saving Notts from potential liquidation, and has been a visible presence throughout his year in charge.
Things were rather different in 2009-10, the last time they had hopes of promotion. In the space of seven turbulent months, Notts went from believing they were one of the richest clubs in England to teetering on the brink of bankruptcy when the unpalatable truth about their shadowy billionaire owners was finally revealed. They stared out over the precipice but were pulled back at the last.
Victims of an elaborate and fantastical ruse, Notts nevertheless had an unforgettable season, which culminated in them winning the League Two title. It was a constantly evolving story of contradictions and extreme contrasts, from a fake Bahraini prince with apparently limitless wealth and a trip to North Korea to discuss trillions of dollars of mineral assets to unpaid milk bills and £1 takeovers. The Football League’s oldest club has flirted with disaster on several occasions and lived to tell the tale. This one was the most remarkable of all.
