Would we be better off with new owners?

I have no confidence anymore in the Trew's handling of ON field matters. Off the field they have been fantastic for the club IMO.

However, it could be out of the frying pan into the fire if there was a change (Charlton are the latest example of this).

What do you think?

It seems Blair Adams was surprised by the booing which came from supporters, I don't know about anyone else but the game had an horrible feel well before Orient had scored. I would say it crept in around the 35th minute mark, that's when I started to hear discontent from our own support.

Quote

"I think the boos did surprise me, yeah. I think we did pretty well."

At half time no end of people told me we was playing well (I don't knock this), it's just that in my opinion the more the game progressed the further we went out of it.

I don't remotely think they played well at all.

The players seemed disjointed all over, whilst I acknowledge the defence did well - I only believe this is more so because Orient didn't put their foot on the accelerator. I stand by my thoughts that they seemed nervous about us countering but myself, I was more nervous about conceding.

What are your thoughts on this? Would Blair say the same if he had sat in the stands??

Let's assume that a lot of us Notts fans would like to protest at the way the club is being run, on and off the field. How though?

1.ย  Boycott the matches?

2.ย  Leave 10 minutes early en masse?

3.ย  Get into the ground but stay below the stands until the 5th minute?

4.ย  Face away from the pitch?

5.ย  Boo?

6.ย  Chant and sing at the board/manager etc.?

7.ย  Give out leaflets outside the ground?

8.ย  Bring in large banners and display them - is this allowed in England?

9.ย  Get enough signatures together to call an EGM and then pass a motion sacking the board - oops - can't go that in England?

I'd be genuinely interested to hear people's views in terms of:

Which ones would fans support?

Which ones would do any good in the short and/or long term?

Which would be a waste of time?

Which might do more harm than good?

Welcome to PoN @Furious Greg.Good to see you're already posting.

Title speaks for itself, I'm interested in who is your favorite notts player of all time and why!

As many will know I haven't supported notts for 60 odd years so I have very few players to choose from so my player will be much more recent.

If you hadn't already guessed its good old Stanley Aborah! He almost always gets out of trouble even after receiving the ball with men around him, he is always so calm and composed and after his first goal (I can't quite remember the team) but you could see his passion and joy to score for us!

Firstly where credit is due, the set up away from home has all in all been a success.

However the set up at home is poles apart from Ricardo's. Jamie made great play that he has seen Notts prior to his appointment and also commented in his first days of the job, that the most difficult thing is scoring goals and from what he had seen, that didn't needed fixing.

I still cannot reconcile his thought process which allows the return of the immobile Smith at the expense of the central midfield berth forย Noble?

The whole balance of the side founders on this when we play at home. There is no momentum in taking the game to the opposition.

Frustrating thoughts for a Monday

is anyone else watched it yet saw all the episodes so far gota say it's very diffrent from the old series.

This may be down to mulder and scully gettin on but still good but it's still early days hopefully Itl get better as it goes on still tho the music is amazing love that tuneย

Notts lost 3-1 at Orient back in September. It was a bizarre game to say the least. RM made 9 changes to the starting lineup and Notts went in 1-0 down at half time. He made a couple of changes at half time and Notts levelled within a minute of the restart. Notts looked the more likely to win the game but Orient snatched victory with 2 late goals.ย

Orient are 9th in the table. They have 46 points (7 more than Notts). They have scored 46 goals (2 more than Notts) and conceded 45 goals (5 less than Notts). In their last five games, they have beaten Portsmouth, Newport & Wycombe and lost to Northampton and Cambridge. They were humiliated 4-0 at home last Saturday by Northampton, which surprised many people as they had been playing well up to that game.ย

Orient are using a 4-5-1 formation. Cisak in goal is a decent keeper at this level but he is prone to the odd error. Their defence is suspect. Baudry is the leader in the back 4, but you always feel you can get at him at CB. Hunt is settling in at RB after his move from Mansfield. Brisley at CB has started only 2 games this season. Shaw at LB is decent. They may make changes after Saturday's thumping, most likely Clohessy coming into the defence. He's a no nonsense defender and will actully make their stronger IMO.ย

Orient's midfield has 2 familiar names. Jobi Mcanuff might be 34 now but he's still a threat. Of course they also have player/manager Kevin Nolan to call on. He will start, even though Northampton over ran them in midfield.ย

Up front they have 22 goal man Jay Simpson. He's a real handful and scored against Notts back in September.ย

Orient will come to play next Saturday. It has all the makings of a thrilling game. I doubt it will finish 0-0. I'll go for a 2-2 draw.ย

From a few years ago at F.C. Magdeburg who hadn't scored in ages.

OK, genuine question.....on the advice of LethalSaveloy, I have perused the Blog section to see if Tarkers Tall Tales should find a more suitable home?

Here is my answer from the "other post"

I think there were a few reasons for me babbling along on the main forum, instead of a blog.

Firstly, it seemed a bit pretentious of me starting a blog..."look at me etc....my life is important".......I am more of a pub guy "You'll never guess what happened to me yesterday....get your pint, and listen to this".....some people move to the opposite side of the bar obviously, hahahaha

Secondly, at my age it's difficult to remember where I've left the bottle-opener, let alone trying to make some kind of order out of my personal blog-space!

Thirdly, as an exile from another site, I was used to everything being on one page, the O/T stuff mixed in with Footie items. It somehow looked "busier", some stuff stayed on the main page for days, some stuff disappeared pretty quickly. I like my desk being messy...it is somehow comforting?

When I joined this site, I thought I might contribute more, as PON does get a bit quiet at times. Being in Mexico, I don't get to ML.....so I try to find interesting things to post....plus it keeps me sane!! I understand that I might irritate a few of the Footie Purists....but I guess they could just ignore my posts?

Lastly, I have given up trying to count the number of times that I have woken up from an inebriated condition, wishing my post from the night before WOULD disappear!!..........."Oh no Tarkers, not the dodgy story about the strip-bar in Kowloon....you idiot"

Having read through a few of the Blogs, particularly @notts-joe........my immediate thoughts are some of the stuff there is actually quite personal and I understand why they are in a "separate personal area". They are available to people who want to deliberately seek them out, but not "general" enough to go in the MLSB pub-chat area. I am not sure if I am making much sense?

All the footie stuff ie "my trip to York".....surely all that stuff should be in the main forum?

My last point is.....how many people on here actually visit the Blog Section?.....I've been here a month and only looked there because of @DangerousSausage comments?

So I put it to a vote......should I start posting in the Blog section....or continue my ramblings in the MLSB?.......be careful, I know where you live!

ย

The whole idea of a Community is to make it BUSY.....get this place buzzing....I used to run/own bars around Nottingham and there is nothing worse than a lonely boozer. Give me 30 people in a bar talking any old rubbish any time....even the odd bar-fight brightens up the evening after a boring day in the office!!

Not sure if this the right forum, looking for a copyย  of the Notts v forest 93/4 2-1 win which the club sold a match video ofย , with that goal by Charlie palmer, had a copy, but lost it when I moved. Anybody who can let me have a good quality copy (transferred to dvd if possible) please mail me.ย I'll payย ย a ย ยฃ10 for copy. Many thanks

Recently a few clubs have been struggling, Bolton, Northampton and Charlton. Bolton have been spending like a premier league club and carelessly ran into massive debt, Northampton had a crook of an owner.

But what happened to Charlton? I was hoping someone could clue me in as to why their fans have been protesting?

From a business English desk calendar (don't blame me for this):

What's orange and sounds like a parrot?

A carrot!

I accompanied @GrannyPie to the doctorsย  this morning for another of her blood tests. It was raining and cold so on the way home I left her to continue by herself while I rushed ahead(only 20/30 yards)ย  into the chemists to leave some prescriptions to collect later. She said she'd wait for me coming out.I was only in the chemists a couple of minutes but as I came out I saw grannyย  at the kerbside talking to the occupants of a car that had pulled up. I immediately recognised theย  smiling face in the passenger seat who was chatting away.It was non other than our very own @magpiejue. She was on her way with her husband to @nottsjoe's houseย  and recognised granny from PoN photos. Can you imagine the scene-Granny on the pavement in her wheelchair waiting for me,ย  a car pulls up and a stranger asks her if she's nottjoe's mum.We had a brief chat and pointed them in the right direction. Granny was so pleased to put a face to a name.It made our day.

As we still wait for the monorail...well perhaps the tram can get routed to Meadow Lane in the future
