this has to happen fast a new owner something to lift the fans lift the players or someone has to sack Jamie Fullarton.

Someone has to sack him soon I read that his win rate is now worse then chris kiwoyma and I belive if we have another game without scoring it equals Paul ince record.

But he is breaking all the wrong records he has to go simple as that the longer he stays the more we are praying on York and Dagenham every week next year if he's still in charge we may not be so lucky it's just my opinion don't know what others think.

But I think we should all sing Fullarton out that's how I feel about itย

If you summed up the best and worst decisions by Ray what would you choose?

Best

1. Avoid admin after Munto takeover
2. Invest monies off the field
3. Attempt to rally the fans by kind acts of gestures

Worst

1. Blame the fans for his/the clubs failings
2. Use social media and the other site
3. Itchy finger syndrome

Now you?

As I will not be online for a few days after tomorrow (my 6 monthly trip to a Mexican border is now due), I wanted to get in early and post my score prediction.

Yeovil are on a roll.

The recently twice-relegated Championship side, have just beaten Mansfield at Field Mill, before that Accrington, before that Daggers.....and before that drew with Plymouth and Portsmouth!!

Notts meanwhile, haven't beaten anyone since.....errrr.....my memory has gone blank.

In fact, the last time we had more than 3 shots on target was...... errrrr...ok, never mind.

So.......on the basis that we have to get lucky once in a while,.... and actually score!.....................3-1 to Yeovil

Today I stumbled on a Bristol Rovers fan article deep in the bowels of the Bristol Post, and my god does it put the boot into poor old Notts... just read some of it for yourself.

That poor sequence may still come back to haunt us, but at least Darrell Clarke stopped the rot, as he always seems to manage, with three comfortable wins, eight goals, and teams like Notts County suggesting there are some dire bottom feeders left to play.

Notts County could well be one of the rabble, shamelessly trading on their status as a founder member of the Football League in 1888, as if their history won't let them go down. Well, we certainly know all about that sort of attitude don't we? Excuse me if I have little sympathy for their puffed up club after the dirty battles of the late 80's / early 90's and the legendary 'ungentlemanly conduct' episode in September 2000, which although early in the season, could be seen as the stolen brace of points that eight months later saw us relegated, by a solitary point, to the Fourth Division for the first time in our history.

Karma has helped us to four wins out of five at Meadow Lane since that unsavoury episode, and last Saturday's win sounded like a pretty comfortable experience, which can hardly be said about Jamie Fullerton's managerial chair at the moment. There are times in life when unchecked 'ambition' fosters bad decision making, and given that Fullerton has had five football jobs in less than five years since joining Rovers in the summer of 2011 as Youth Team Coach (and leaving a year after), and has made some rather vocal critics in his playing and coaching career, this could well be one of those times.

Football fans apportion great credence to loyalty, and neither jumping from club to club, nor crossing the Trent from Forest to County, is much of a vote winner. Every manager in Britain knows there are certain poisonous jobs and boardroom dungeons that probably aren't worth striving for, at any salary, and the County hot seat must surely be up there alongside the rotten ducking stools at Villa Park, and that other tiding of self-important magpies in the North East.

It seems like the old superstition that a magpie is bad luck could be true, so instead of meeting a pica pica with the traditional greeting, "Good morning Mr. Magpie. How is your lady wife today?", healthier advice may be to run a country mile if 'Mike Ashley' or 'Ray Trew' ever pops up on a list of missed callers.

Bloody hell. Chip on their shoulder much?

Here's the full article (about half of it is devoted to ripping into Notts, the rest is Bristol Rovers stuff that doesn't concern us)

http://www.bristolpost.co.uk/Bristol-Rovers-BLOG-Good-morning-Mr-Magpie-play/story-28906058-detail/story.html

Saturday's Fixtures:
Bolton Wanderers v Preston North End
Queens Park Rangers v Brentford
Barnsley v Southend United
Bradford City v Doncaster Rovers
Accrington Stanley v Plymouth Argyle
Hartlepool United v Dagenham & Redbridge

Three lists of top ten for you. But what are they lists of? All refer to the FA Cup since it started, but not including the qualifiying rounds.

List 1:ย ย  1st Notts County 2nd Nottingham Forest 3rd Derby County 4th Birmingham City 5th Stoke City 6th Aston Villa 7th Blackburn 8th Sheffield Wednesday 9th Preston 10th Sunderland

List 2:ย ย  1st Aston Villa 2nd Tottenham 3rd Manchester United 4th Everton 5th Arsenal 6th Blackburn Rovers 7th Sheffield Wednesday 8th Chelsea 9th Liverpool 10th West Brom

List 3:ย ย  1st Arsenal 2nd Tottenham 3rd Manchester United 4th Forest 5th Liverpool 6th Sheffield Wednesday 7th Bolton 8th Chelsea 9th Sheffield United 10th Reading

Sounds like Hardys pulling out of the takeover by the sounds of his tweets etc.

Such as his offer either isn't good enough or the American group have made a better offer and are in a better financial place in not sure.

Or the last rumour that's been going around repeat RUMOUR for people who don't understand that word is that Ray trew actually doesn't want to sell.

As he is now giving Fullarton backing to apparently bring in another forward to address the lack of ย goals issue how about addressing Liam noble in the middle to create goals ย or even score them after all he does have 8.

But yea just thought I'd give everyone a heads upย

Hello @Richard Hargreaves and @ricejon3,

Welcome to the Pride of Nottingham, how are you both? Care to tell us a little bit about yourselves?

It's great to have you both here and I hope you enjoy being apart of our growing community, there's plenty of content and things to do - if you have any questions, feel free to message any team member and we will gladly help out where possible. For now, enjoy the site and I look forward to reading your input. COYP!

It's being reported Notts are keen to take on Scunthorpe United defender Andrew Boyce on loan.

He's a physical, well built defender whom could be the solution to our problems at the back (provided he signs and Fullarton plays him - the latter you never know) but Plymouth Argyle are also sniffing around him. This would be more interesting than the Doncaster defender and not 'one of the usual' suspects.

What do you think? Should Notts take Andrew Boyce on?? Discuss...

Interesting commentary from the other forum, which I am still a refugee from. PON has some really sensible discussions without the keyboard warriors who have their own agendas.

To be fair to Dougie, and anybody here who didn't hear the programme, he didn't say anything to defend the owners and didn't say much in defence of Fullarton either, other than that we should give him a chance, that he should have an assistant and that he is giving instructions to players during the game rather than just standing there doing nothing for 90 minutes. He's obviously a longtime fan and I don't think he deserves a pillorying on here. Of this of all weeks, you might have expected Radio Nottingham to have had a guest who wasn't representing the club in an official capacity, but having said that, I don't think any of the callers who phoned in could be described as apologists or nodders, so maybe he was chosen for balance.

Very fair. Just a note, though, he was representing the officially recognised Supporters Association, he was not put forward by the club at all.

Great. While you're on here, do you fancy answering any of the legitimate questions/concerns that have been posted on a daily basis?

Well, I haven't been reading on a daily basis, but when I have read, there's been very few legitimate questions asked on here. (that's not to say, of course, that there aren't any.) What I have seen is a lot of understandable criticism, some put well, some not, and plenty of discussion about rumours revolving around what someone has apparently heard. It's not really the place to come and answer queries, as quite a few already seem to have their own answers and don't want to hear the truth. Also, many here feel that my answers would be untrustworthy. It's a shame there was little response to our proposed meet the manager event, as those who have attended in the past would know that its about asking questions of any of us. There certainly is a need for the opportunity for supporters to be able to air their views and have questions answered, with the ability for people who can't attend to be able to comment live via other means. I understand the club are looking to do this soon. I will say for now, though, that RT is considering proposals from more than one source for the club, including overseas. Thank you.

Thanks for the response. FWIW I'd quite like to hear 'the truth'. Would any of the following meet the 'legitimate' question criteria?

Is it accepted at boardroom level that Jamie Fullarton has made a poor start as manager?

Is there a reason Fullarton still has no permanent assistant?

Was style of play discussed at Fullarton's job interview?

Did Fullarton formally apply for the role or was he invited to interview?

What are the aims between now and the end of the season from a playing perspective?

Is the decision to ostracise Stanley Aborah solely a football one - as was originally indicated?

Why did the club sanction Aborah's interview last week only to immediately dispute his version of events?

As Aborah has always been available for selection (as the club has admitted), do you personally find it strange that someone who had previously been our best player is no longer considered good enough for the bench?

Is it coincidental that all of the Moniz led signings are no longer in the first team and has nationality played a factor in this?

If the reason for no flags/banners of a certain size in ML are due to health and safety regulations, why were Bristol Rovers fans - and the vast majority of away supporters this season - allowed to flout these?

If the meet the manager event carried such importance and was seen as a vital way for supporters to get their views heard, why did you charge for entry to this and ask to vet the questions in advance?

Did you and/or your husband plan to attend this as it was only JW from who'd been mentioned on promotional material for the event?

Have there been any inital plans/discussions about who will step in as CE when Julian Winter leaves, assuming new owners aren't forthcoming at this point?

Thanks in advance - I look forward to your reply.

1 yes, some of these meet 'legitimate question" criteria
2.It's accepted that results and some performances have been inconsistent, but that also he's working well with the team and staff to make improvements. He's not been long in post
3.The process is ongoing for a suitable assistant. There are no particular issues in this regard and it's recognised it should be sooner rather than later.
4.Style of play was of course discussed. As was the need to rectify weaker areas
5.He applied
6.to win as many games as possible while being more consistent in performances, being more pleasing watch. Nothing new.
7.SA was never ostracised
8.The interview would have happened whether we sanctioned it or not. Already on twitter.
9.it's never been a case of whether the player was good enough for the squad.
10Some of what were seen to be Moniz signings were not regularly selected by the previous manager. Insinuations of racism (by some) are totally unfounded.
11.I'm still to discuss the removal of that particular banner with the relevant dept. I was surprised to see it being removed. The wording did not contravene any regulations that I'm aware of, but like I said, I don't yet know the reason it was removed. Re visiting banners: clubs bringing banners/drums/trumpets etc generally ask permission first. Large banners require fire safety certs.
12.meet the manager event: there's always been a small charge(a bit more if drink/food is included) As in the past, some questions are invited by email, for those unable to attend, also via twitter and live on the night. The only vetting that takes place is on multiple questions (the same) and on obscenity. (not good for a family club, and uneccessary)
13.yes, as always, we'd be there, along with other staff. (unless RT's working away)
14.yes, talks are current for a replacement CEO.
Hope that helps. Obviously, I must exercise discretion when it comes to discussing
employees.

Which clubs have conceded the most goals away from home in league matches since 1888? I want the top ten please, 1 point for each.

Interestingly it contains 4 clubs who are not current members of the 92.

I saw a link to this on the Notts website. Thought I'd share it as it looks like it will be an interesting read http://www.lordofmilan.com/

Welcome to Pride of Nottingham, @AlanPanther and @Aidy162.

Would you care to tell the community a little bit about yourself, such as how long you have supported Notts? Well I hope you both enjoy being apart of the site. We'll see you around I am sure, You Pies!!

I'm interested to see what people would have done if you can put yourselves into Ray Trews shoes this season.

Let's rewind to just before the end of December 2015. We were 15th in the league and 7 points of the play-offs. Do you sack Moniz? If so, who do you bring in?

You can time-travel and read our views at the time here:ย

The season wasn't really going as planned. Although we had some very good, attacking home performances, our performances away were lacklustre at best. Add to that the national embarrassment ย that happened at Salford, a lot of things needed addressing. However, I was hoping that the owners would finally stick by an appointment and give him at least a full season in charge. I was sick to the back teeth of hiring and firing managers and the club changing direction so often.ย

From my point of view, I would have kept Moniz until the end of the season, which would have been a better time to analyse and re-evaluate everything. After relegation, a re-structuring of the club (such as transfer panel and non-playing personnel), and on top of that so many new faces, I felt a full season would have been a good time scale to assess the positives and negatives of both the managerial and playing staff.ย

Which club has conceded the most goals at home since 1888?

My last night here in Mexico for about a week......catching the 8am coach tomorrow to the airport.

The "caretaker" has been and gone with his instructions......but it has suddenly got extremely dark and windy......I am getting excited.

We only get about 18 inches a year up on the Altiplano.......but the radar says we might get rain tonight.....please, please, please, give me just give one hour of rain.

One of my goats, a beautiful animal that I named Red, is pregnant....and she would love some fresh grass.

I spent about 30 minutes with her this afternoon feeling the baby (or babies) kicking......I think she might give birth tonight.

I know this sounds crazy to those in the UK who see rain every day (I spent 50+ years there)....but here it is literally life or death.

Something like my last rain might be nice

Joe Jones: "I want Notts County's abomination of a season to be over"

Being a Notts County fan is never an easy role. Weโ€™ve had more ups and downs at Meadow Lane than a rollercoaster for the majority of our history. But itโ€™s safe to say that, like many fellow supporters, Iโ€™ve reached the end of my tether here.

Just this week, a Facebook โ€œmemoryโ€ from four years ago appeared in my feed where Iโ€™m proudly declaring that the Magpies had โ€œplayed four, won four, scored five goals, conceded zero, and will take on Charlton Athletic (top of League One), Sheffield Wednesday (third) and Sheffield United (second) in the next 11 days.โ€ The post ends with โ€œchallenge acceptedโ€.

Fast-forward four years and weโ€™re in League Two, losing against the likes of Oxford United, Morecambe, Accrington Stanley, and Cambridge United, failing to beat Dagenham & Redbridge, and perhaps worst of all, being brought down by SALFORD CITY in front of a national audience.

Oasis once sang โ€œDonโ€™t Look Back In Angerโ€, but how can we not see where we were just a few years ago and not feel anger, resentment and bitterness at where we are now?ย

It should have never come to this. At the end of the 2011-12 season, we finished seventh in League One, missing out on the playoffs by goal difference.

Then it all went pear-shaped. Despite having a squad well equipped to push for the playoffs, Ray Trew abruptly decided to decrease funding, and was quoted by BBC Sport on 9 January 2013 as saying: "I am not prepared to increase that sum (said to be ยฃ12m since taking over in 2010)."

He added: โ€œThe only way I will inject further monies is in the form of loans. If I am being totally honest I am not motivated to even do that currently because I am not being supported by you, the fan base."

Keith Curle left and was replaced by Chris Kiwomya, the first of four consecutive managerial appointments with no English league experience. The likes of Lee Hughes, Alan Judge, Neal Bishop and Jeff Hughes would all be out of the door by the summer, and most of the replacements โ€“ save for loanees Jack Grealish and Callum McGregor โ€“ were simply not up to the same standard.

We went from fighting for promotion to fighting against relegation, and even though we survived at the end of the 2013-14 season on the final day, the following season was just as much of a slog, though lightning did not strike twice as relegation to the bottom tier was finally confirmed โ€“ the marvellous achievements of the 2009-10 season and subsequent hard work were all undone in the space of two seasons.

Although Ricardo Moniz was a decent enough proposition on paper, he simply was not cut for the slog of the English fourth division. The start of the season was difficult enough, and Moniz was rightly, in my opinion, dismissed.ย

Now comes the point in this sorry tale which just defies all logic. A team scrapping in the bottom tier of English professional football, and not having a particularly good time of things at that, should be looking to hire a manager with knowledge of the English lower leagues โ€“ itโ€™s not like there arenโ€™t many knocking about โ€“ to drag this club back up the pyramid, in the words of former Manchester City defender Andy Morrison, โ€œkicking and screamingโ€.

Instead, what do we get? An Under-21 manager with no experience of the English leagues.

Like many other fans, that was the final straw for me. No amount of PR could sell Jamie Fullarton as a good choice of manager to a group of fans that have seen their club endure a deterioration of health since 2013 to the point that itโ€™s now on its last legs,ย with three equally unqualified and inexperienced managerial choices preceding it.

Much talk is made of โ€œfair-weatherโ€ fans that only turn up for the good times and stay away during the bad times. This is a discussion that takes place among fans every matchday at the pubs and bars in and around Meadow Lane, in the stands, on forums and on social media.

โ€œIf you were a proper fan, youโ€™d carry on supporting your club,โ€ an ever-decreasing amount of people will say.

However, it has now reached the point where many fans have just had enough. The decline from League One playoff contenders to League Two relegation threats. The illogical managerial appointments. The public fallouts between fans and boardroom, fans and manager, manager and boardroom, and player and club. The revolving door of players through the Meadow Lane doors. Boardroom members resigning. And of course, the culmination of all this turmoil on the pitch โ€“ football that the likes of Mark Stallard have described as โ€˜not suitable for League Twoโ€™ live on air.

I admit I cannot wait for this season to be over and put Notts to the back of my mind for a few months. The club is in a perilous state of affairs, and no amount of emotional blackmailing from anybody over โ€œsupporting the clubโ€ will convince me otherwise.

Like many other fans, I will support my club in the lower reaches of the Conference if need be, playing derbies against Carlton Town and Alfreton Town. But all I ask for is a team with passion, a manager who knows what heโ€™s doing, and a little bit of harmony behind the scenes. Not utopian perfection, but enough to give the fans reassurance that everyone is singing from the same hymn sheet.

And at the moment, none of this seems to be the case at Meadow Lane.ย

ย

Full of crap get out of my clubย

...is Karlsruher SC's new coach. Sounds like a stage name to me...

Hi Folks,

I'm going to start setting questions based on the whole history of the football league (including the so-called 'premier'), so everty game we'd all call a 'league' game.

Starting easy:

1. Which club has played the most league games since 1888?

Two more members have joined us to talk about the (mostly) downs and (rare) ups in the world of Notts County FC. Welcomeย to the community, @Northern Ireland Magpieย and @Who r ya?? You Pies!!!

Care to tell us a bit about yourselves? Who r ya? :)

So Saturday came and it was time to board the flight to East Midlands, head to Meadow Lane and see what all the fuss was about

So here is my impression of the place, the pitch, the fans and the team.

Our hotel was near the ground and had plenty time to wander around before the game started and it was a nice , but cold, day

Trent Bridge, the City Ground and the city centre all got a visit en route to Meadow Lane.

We had a few beers in the wheelers suite before kick off which was nice , if a little tired in places. Colin Slater interviewed Tommy Johnson pre-match so it was good to see CS in the flesh having listened to him onย a few occassions.

The stadium itself is great and clearly fit for a higher standard than the club is currrently playing although the playing surface didn't look quite as good as I would have expected

The team? Scott Loach - Good solid keeper and the club are lucky to have two quailty keepers on the books

Wes Atkinson - Judging on yesterdays performance? not good enough for Notts. Looked nervous in defence and didnt track his runner for the first goal

Audel - Shaky start but all in all was there or there abouts

Hewitt - Not big enough to be a commanding CB and would have preferred to see him at RB

Adams - Generally decent on the ball

Banton - Luxury, however, did look as if he could go by the full back any time he wanted to. The issue with him is that , when you are fighting , he's the type of player who almost leaves you a man short

Thompson - Hard working but at times lacks a little bit of quality, could do well with the right partner in midfield

Milsom - Is a decent midfielder but doesnt really effect the game enough

Campbell - Again, only on yesterdays performance? Not good enough for Notts in my opinion.Struggled to provide any width to the team

Steadย  - Struggled to win any aerial challenge for about 65 mins. Did some neat and tidy work and showed his quailty but unfortunately a lot of it was done in his own half.

McLeod - largely anonymous and didnt look at threat to me

The team generally suffered as the game went on as the middle 4 seemed to drop back too tight to the defence which meant that, when the ball was played forward then the gap between midfield and the front two was apparent. This meant that it was hard for Notts to push up against BR.

Two very poor, avoidable, goals against a team who did create chances but were much the same type of side as Notts. It shows me that anyone in this league can beat anyone..but unfortunately letting goals like that in doesnt help.

Bristol Rovers were just a bit slicker with the ball and that midfiled 4 of theirs was quicker in support of the front men which made them more dangerous.

I cant comment on anything other than Saturday but as team Notts need players in quite a few positions. Aborah? that type of player, in my opinion , wouldn't work in a , or that midfield 4. Like Banton he would be a luxury and may be better in a 5 but the midfield generally need to be a bit more dynamic.

Spoke to some of the staff who seem very complimentary of JF and his work ethic, standards etc but on Saturdays' performance, if the players arent executing what he wants them to do then maybe its time for back to basics.

The fans? I thought the atmosphere was pretty good !ย  a few near the dugout were getting very personal and Roy Carroll had a bite back at them but other than that they were fine. A bit of singing near the end against JF ( which the BR fans assisted with) and a very brief hint of a banner in the KOP but generally speaking not the cauldron I was expecting.

All in all a pretty disappointing resultย  and I do worry where the goals will come from based on Saturdays performance.

This post is purely my opinion based on Saturday but hopefully be back down soon to see them again!
