  1. Does anyone know what has happened to players like Daniels and Murray? Considering the lack some of the current first players are showing i would have thought we would see them at least make the bench.

    Anyone know??

  2. First star graduates to the pro game!

The NPL Football Academy's coaches and tutors are celebrating their first success story after Romulus star Yohan Rutty-Smith signed for Notts County.

After making history back in November as the first NPLFA student to play first team football for the First Division South's Roms, the 16-year-old has now become the first to progress to the professional game after signing for the League One club.

The left-back, pictured, signed a two year deal at Meadow Lane on Monday only five months after the NPLFA opened its doors to its first intake of students at five pilot clubs - Leek Town, Mickleover Sports, Newcastle Town, Radcliffe Borough and the Roms.

In doing so the EVO-STIK NPL became the first league in English football to launch a youth league and academy combining football with further education. Since then, four more clubs have signed on to join next season, First Division North Mossley AFC the latest recruit in January.

Hailing the production of their first graduate to the professional ranks so quickly after the NPLFA's foundation, a spokesman said: "We are delighted at this news and very proud. Never in our wildest dreams did we imagine we would get our first professional graduate five months into the programme which just shows how successful it has been in it's short time.

"Our aim first and foremost is to give our students the best educational package available to enable them to have a successful working career and we are also committed with our expertise to producing young footballers. Firstly for the first teams of the clubs involved but also to give those youngsters a second chance or even their first chance of becoming a professional footballer.

"Credit must go to Richard Evans and his staff at Romulus FC who are running a very successful programme there as shown in their educational and football results. It's another player to come through the system at The Roms and they are obviously delighted and proud of young Yohan."

He added: "Everyone at the NPL Football Academy wishes Yohan the best of luck in his professional career and hopes he can continue his studies that he has worked hard for so far this season."

A proud Romulus spokesman added: "The academy is gutted to lose such a great young talent, but, on the other hand and more importantly, we are all delighted that he has been given this fantastic opportunity with professional outfit Notts County."

Hopefully he can progress further with us.

  3. Which ex pies have you not liked in the past 10 seasons and why?

Mine, Karl Hawley having only seen highlights it is hard to explain but his talent often seemed wasted. Alan Sheehan for the way he departed last summer, Paul Moyo I just did not like.

  4. Ok put your ear plugs in, Tony is going to have a rant.

This makes makes me really angry, I got my house insurance renewal and just as a matter of interest I thought I'd get some quotes online from compare the market, my existing insurance company was one of the quotes and it was £40 cheaper for exactly the same cover that they had sent a renewal for.

So in other words new customers are treated better and get cheaper quotes than existing customers, how bleddy annoying.

    Burger King trials home delivery

Burger King is trialling a home delivery service in Yorkshire, Essex, Cornwall, Lincolnshire and London in a move that has seen those lucky enough to receive the service celebrating their good fortune.

Social media lit up at news of the three-month trial, despite it only taking place from eight restaurants in Northampton, Romford, Truro, Hornchurch, Gants Hill, Hull, Skegness and Hayes.

Those keen on having a Whopper and fries delivered direct to their front door can enter their postcode on the dedicated Burger King Delivery website to find out if they are eligible.

However the company said the trial was a test of the service ahead of a national roll-out later in the year.

Matthew Bresnahan, marketing director of Burger King for Northern Europe, Russia and Africa, said: "Burger King is firmly committed to delivering great-tasting food at affordable prices to all of our customers.

"We are extremely excited about this Home Delivery service trial so customers can continue to enjoy the perfect combination of taste, at great value prices, now delivered straight to their homes."

The news was met with reactions ranging from joy to despair on Twitter.

@GreyMCMLXXIX wrote: "Burger King now deliver. What a momentous day this is," while @hpd1998 added: "Burger King start to deliver in the UK, the beginning of a new era?"

But those not eligible shared their grief, with @NotFaulty writing: "Burger King doesn't deliver to my postcode. All life is pain."

  9. I'm not really a gardener we sort of inherited our garden when we moved in and I have noticed that the Spring flowers are starting to pop up. We've got snowdrops, crocuses and daffodils showing themselves, the days are getting longer and the birds are being more active so it looks like Spring is on it's way, roll on, I'll be glad to see the back of this winter.

Are you a gardener? What's happening in your garden?

  12. Despite them doing better than us, having probably a stronger unit and confidence to match. I think we can go there and win provided we play smooth passing forward which actually supports whoever is on the ball, this of course includes Bajner. I fail to see how he will score when he gets 3 defenders quickly on top of him.

I mean he does well but his chances will always be limited and we can't rely on set pieces.

Fleetwood do have many cracks within their play, as do we but the good signs are for us we are improving. The defence looked better against Sheffield United (Not good enough still) but we actually marked and put in challenges.

If we prevent Fleetwood from running at us (same can be said for any side) we could easily go back to drawing games.

I just wonder where the fire power comes from and for me, we need to be calling upon these players who have go A.W.O.L or unheard of. Either stick Bajner upfront with Murray or G Thompson.

I think the game will be a draw myself, I fear us losing but confidence is our play would prevent that. 1-1 from me...

    What are your thoughts?

In one short stretch of path I counted 8 dog poo bags hanging from trees like some grotesque ornament, a used nappy, a beer bottle wedged in a tree and a pile of beer cans. How delightful!

  16. Anyone seen the first few episodes of the new series yet? Just watched the first 3 and it wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. I loved the film and wasn't sure how they could turn it into a series and extend the storyline, especially without Pitt and Willis, but so far so good.

  17. Match Report 17/2/15

Rotherham United 3 Derby County 3

Great game, for a hour we were incredible, went 3-1 up & but for a great Lee Grant save from Matt Derbyshire, it'd have been 4, but County came back well & deservedly in the end claimed a point!!

  18. I was talking to @Dripsey3 in another thread about porridge but I can't find it now. Anyhow, probably worth a separate thread, I tried his suggestion of banana in my porridge and it was very good, thanks Dripsey, Mrs. H. gave it 10 out of 10.

This got me thinking does anyone else have porridge on the forum, we usually have golden syrup and we make it with two thirds milk and one third water, it's comes out lovely and creamy, on our recent cruise I had porridge and it had been made with water it was horrible I didn't like it at all but I know that is probably the proper way to have it.

When I was a youngster mam and dad took us for a holiday to Scotland and at breakfast we were served porridge the landlady of the B&B put a pot of salt on the table. My dad asked for sugar and she looked at him as if he had just crawled out from under a stone. Muttering "sacrilege" under her breath she went to fetch the sugar bowl and almost threw it at him. It seems the Scottish people have salt on their porridge as a tradition and woe betide you if you ask for anything else.

So do you have porridge? If so how do you like it? Any Scottish people on here care to comment?

  19. Does anyone think Derry will drop Adams tonight, replacing him with Newton? I am hopeful to see him.

  20. I keep seeing adverts and trailers for it, never watched the actual show but I plan to do so.

Anyone watch it? What's it like?

  21. Hi,

I'm the pre-match reporter for the Port Vale Fans Forum One Vale Fan.

Part of my role is to contact fans of our forthcoming opponents to ask them a few questions and gain their views on the upcoming fixture between our sides in order to produce a report which we release on the site a couple of days prior to the game.

    I wondered if up to three of you have a few minutes and would be prepared to share a few views if you would kindly offer your feelings on the game by answering the following few questions;

    1. Tell us a bit about yourself & history as a fan?

    2. How are your team doing (current form and in relation to the expectation of fans at the start of the season)?

    3. Where you think you will finish in terms of league position?

    4. Who should we watch out for (one or more danger player/s)?

    5. What are your thoughts on your manager?

    6. What are your thoughts on your board & off field club activities?

    7. Any views on the current Port Vale team & specific players?

    8. Did you attend the reverse fixture earlier this season? If so what were your thoughts on the game?

    9. Any views & memories of players / managers that have been involved with both teams?

    10. A score prediction (and potential scorers for both sides)?

    Please also feel free to include any other information you feel worthy and I will knock it into a report as per the example below regarding contribution from Plymouth fans from our game with them;

    http://www.onevalefan.co.uk/site/opposing-views-plymouth/

To enable me to produce this in good time I need a reply by Wednesday and the report should appear on the website a day or two before our fixture.

Please also let me know if you would like me to include your name on the article.

Many thanks for your potential support in this matter.

    Best Regards,

    REP
