Hello and welcome to @Kingmasson.You should get on with the last member who joined !

@super_ram...

Happy Birthday Dad! Now let's have some more PONcake!! (Days will be good when this happens every day). Any excuse for cake mind ;)

A Derby win was difficult to purchase for a present, you will have to do with a draw. :P

Just to make you aware in case you want to pop in for a chat, to find out more about our community work or attend one of our upcoming events, Football in the Community will have an information table in the Meadow Lane Bar before tomorrow night's game. ย We'd love to speak to any fans who would like to chat!ย

A quick reminder of events;

Wine tasting evening, Sponsored walk to Mansfield & A night with the Wembley Winners. ย In addition to this we have places in the Asda 10K and Nottingham Triathlon.

We suggest you stick around for the half time entertainment we are showcasingย on the pitch tomorrow evening too! ย #bubblefootballย

With the news of Ray Trew's "optimistic" valuation of 10 million pounds might scupper a potential takeover, it's time for us fans to step into the breach. The users of this board have many talents that can really bring the club forwards.

First, though, we have to find the money. That's easy enough, @notts-joeย can empty the donation fund, I'll empty my tin of loose change that's been filling up for years and we'll just do a whiparound for the remaining 9,999,960 quid. Piece of cake.

So now that the takeover is a mere formality, we have some posts to fill.ย First of all I'd put @tarquinbeechย in charge of catering on the condition that he supplies us with opossum pies. No other league club offers these, and the main point of football is pies after all. I also have an inkling that @Modern Fan 1862 ????ย will be interested in the manager's job. What other jobs would people like?

Game 33 - The Pilgrims (A)

Team: Plymouth Argyle

Date: 27/02/16

Where: Home Park

What line-up should Jamie Fullarton opt for? What will be the key areas for the Magpies to get a victory? What do you think the final score will be?

  • @weymouthPIE ย A very balanced and well put review of the game...progress, but still really disappointed about the result , however, feeling positive about Tuesday and , especially Saturday, as I will be flying down to Nottingham to see the Bristol Rovers game with my friend...be happy to catch up with some of you and buy you a pint

I didn't expect anything from this but I'm encouraged from what I've heard, particularly that the players picked themselves up after a couple of really poor matches. Hopefully we can carry on the improvement.

Obviously I can't comment on Saturday's match, but I was very impressed with Plymouth earlier in the season. They don't look flashy, amazing or even particularly special, but they're well-organised, solid at the back and a complete menace on the break - exactly the kind of team that ends up celebrating at the end of the season.

Hopefully the fans get behind them from the start on Tuesday as oppose to sitting back waiting for an excuse to get on their backs

I for one will try to join in any positive singing, problem is few are prepared to get involved after being disappointed. I know what you're saying, it seems some are keen to do as you say but only a minority. Likewise, it's only a minority whom really want to make a difference. I know of fans who try to be positive, yet sometimes the support to lift the moment is there.

It's like fans attacking fans for expressing opinions, currently with how people feel - it's just one of those things we need to move on from.

I'd rather focus on the football myself, as most say - if they got down and did their bits people would back them. We need to see them go into the game and be positive, support will come because it's what fans do.

Let's hope we don't allow the opposition in.

Happy Birthday from PoN!

What are your memories of Notts? Name 3 of each...

Highs
1.
2.
3.

Lows
1.
2.
3.

If you can't name 3 of each, just add what you can and a little bit about that time.

Whilst I have been critical of some of their decisions, now is the time to say a big thank you for all the money they have poured into the club's infrastructure.

Notts are already 2-0 up, goals coming from Graham Burke and Filip Valencic. Anyone still attending these games? @Elite_pie?

Saturday's Fixtures:
Fulham v Middlesbrough
Queens Park Rangers v Birmingham City
Burton Albion v Walsall
Colchester United v Shrewsbury Town
Dagenham & Redbridge v Yeovil Town
Wycombe Wanderers v Bristol Rovers

Is there more to Ray Trew resigning than meets the eye? ITV are already reporting that there is a potential buyer. Wonder who it is?

http://www.itv.com/news/central/story/2016-02-25/notts-county-up-for-sale-after-chairman-resigns/

It's been pretty quiet from the ladies team, both their first and second season saw some very good players come into the club but as they prepare for a new campaign - sadly more quality has left than what's arrived. Some fans messaged me around the time asking if I knew anything, of course I didn't then and I don't now.

Yet thinking about it, along with this reported sale being discussed for some time.

I really wonder if all things are connected, and how far it goes back? The Fullarton appointment was very bizarre and out of the blue. I had been told Cooper would want certain people as his backroom staff and JF hasn't been able to find an assistant, no staff have come in to help him but we allowed staff to go upon sacking Ricardo Moniz.

This whole situation doesn't make sense to me.

I am curious to know where PON members have lived.

Just reading it sounds like there are far more who are based in Germany than I had realised. So lets discuss where you have lived. I've lived in Nottingham, I moved to London and then over to the states. I currently reside in a small town not far from Kansas City.

This question has been raised on the Match Forum............so I did a bit of research on the internet............. and to my total astonishment.........................no he's not!!

On the Binet Scale - moron has an IQ of 51 to 70.....not exactly in triple digits............................................. but not to be sniffed at either.

Imbecile is measured at 26 to 50......(some of my ex-girlfriends fell neatly into this category)

.................and the winner is.................drum-roll....................trrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr.....

...............................Idiot at 0 to 25 (which is what i call my kids regularly)

So from now on.....no more Mr Moron please...................call him by his proper title

During a holiday, I sat talking to my dad (@super_ram) and I can't remember why but the conversation lead to my trouble with knee dislocations. At 28-years-old, it seems I'm falling apart in more ways than one but we kept talking and eventually he shared this song.

There's songs which will make us think - whilst others bring back memories (most will). Yet, this song really made me think - I'm lucky despite my trouble and if anyone who reads this experience pain on a daily basis you will understand to some degree also. Certainly if you listen to the lyrics it makes you appreciate not just life, the ability to walk but a darker time.

I don't expect many replies, yet it would be nice to see some - share something which makes you think, then explain why.

ย

Welcome to pon @Don Masson

Fancy telling us about yourself?

I had a good think about not supporting Notts until the current owners are gone. What I came to realize is that Notts County belongs to the supporters, not to what ever owner is charge at at given moment in time. We will be still here long after the current owners are but a distant memory. So I will continue to support the club and give praise and criticism where appropriate.ย

What do you make of this?

Worthy of a share, as posted elsewhere

Hopefully you may have already seen some of the Notts County Football in the Community events that have been mentioned so far (more to come), we'd like to thank those who have signed up for the Asda 10K run and agreed to walk 15 miles to the Mansfield Town game to raise money for our community mental-health projects for adults and young people. We still have places available for both of these events.

Our next fundraiser is slightly different! A wine-tasting night in a fantastic local venue. Please find details below, we would love to have some fans attend the event, enjoy some fine wine and help support our charity.

Location: The Caves underneath the Malt Cross, 16 St James's St, Nottingham NG1 6FG
Date/Time: Thursday 17th March - 7pm start (approx 2 hours)

A number of posters have indicated that they like german football. I'm happy to organise a trip for PON members next season to a Gladbach home game once their and Notts' fixtures come out in June/July.

Who would be interested, and what sort of budget would you be prepared/able to pay to cover transport, match ticket and accomodation?

Firstly, I will declare as a pro-Trew-ite. We have good honest owners but I must say that the decision making process leaves a lot to be desired.ย

I feel so disenfranchised from the club at the moment. In the deepest of hearts, I knew Chris Kiwomya caretaker to manager was a mistake ( and Chris came over whilst talking to him as a thoroughly nice person, perhaps too nice). A good footballing cv in terms of the clubs he played for, being what I describe as footballing clubs. However one needs more than that, the ability to "take" people with you on the journey to success. Jamie presumably came over well at interview, probably more to do with the analysis on what was going wrong ( I think we all could have given that to a lesserย extent). However what makes a good manager is the forward vision, how football is to be played and making the best of the resources available. Jon Coleman at Accrington is a master of making good teams out of scarce financial resources.

The appointment of Jamie was akin to saying to your customers, sorry but the Coca Cola football of Ricardo, plenty of fizz will be replaced by an own brand supermarket cola. We all know that all colas are basically the same but it's the "perception" of the customers which is important here. If I am in the Wheelers Suite. only Pepsi is available which i will decline to have. On that basis, the board have appointed a guy whose career has been at a high level, Premier League French league, similar to Derry's footballing cv...but the final product is hoofball? What is it with these people with such good footballing education, to serve us such a "dish" to us supporters.

Confidence to portray what they know they are doing? Jamie was given ample opportunity to fully explainย the Stanley situation and failed comprehensively. Supporters are not stupid... they can see that Noble should be central midfield, Smith shouldn't be near the starting 11, and Stanley should be in the squad at least. Jamie was talking pre Accrington about a team square pegs for square holes...perfect for Accrington so he then puts Noble round peg in a square hole. Unbelievable.

There was a lot of criticism when Aileen was made CEO...but never from me. Actually Iย think its an advantage having a non footballing CEO as a barometer of common sense, especially financially. I am yet to be convinced about the merits of the "invisible" Julian Winters. Where is the effort to significantly raise the profile of this club and to interact with supporters? Rodwell was bad, but this guy is an invisible man. With his footballing experience, perhaps the question was never raised as to how Jamie's teams had played in the past. Rumoured twitter posts from an ex Bolton loanee raised serious questions at the time.... and seemingly have been proved right.

So we are in a position where the "congregation" of the "church" of Notts County have questioned their own faith. Good people like Stanley on the verge of leaving, I too question where we are heading for? Unfortunately I appear to be staring down to the abyss and not looking up to the heavens. This saddens me deeply.

Here endeth Piethagoram's gospel of today

According to Uncle Colin. CS says he's going to ask JF directly after the game. I feel sick to the stomach

Steady diet of disappointment, that is Notts in 2016!

    Surely longer?

Notts should just add the word to their name. Poor defeat, its not about losing but the way in which we did.

On reflection, we all knew Accrington were a good passing side and any reasonable professional, would have set up a 4 5 1 formation to counter. Listening to Magpie Player, Smith's name was barely mentioned. Also having listened to Colin's talk with Jamie regarding Aborah, the lack of respect was so apparent. How can the supporters get behind this guy, who obviously lives in a self induced bubble?
