Well done Notts on winning the Best Club Marketing Campaig for their "The Bench" initiative.

I was offered a freebie to go with a mate to see the Red dogs this am. Turned it down, but just wondering who will admit to having taken it or having visited over there recently?

With no match this pm people might be at a loose end!

:)

Anybody in PON world bought the latest Call of Duty today?

Thoughts and opinions if you please...

For me it plays quite well so far. Much better than Ghosts, which never really held interest. AW seems to be more fluid and the jumping etc adds a new dimension, but it really is a rip off of Titanfall. Hopefully AW will be easier as well. I have a bi-annual issue with COD.

Play well normally in Treyarch games and poorly in Infinity Ward. I'm due a good year from now until next Nov even though it is a Sledgehammer game.

Welcome @barnet11uk

Seems like our Opposition fans are growing as well.

Why can't you just keep hold of Mad Dog ha ha ha, seems you'll be back in the league in no time.

Good luck against Wycombe this weekend

Did any1 go? And transfer hints? or funny stories to tell?

As some will know or may have heard Stephen McLaughlin is set to return to Nottingham Forest, he's reached the duration of his original loan and unless Notts can extend the deal - it would leave us missing a creative player.

Against Scunthorpe United yesterday, it sounded like he had a fairly poor game. Uncle Colin and Dean Yates both highlighted this.

Would you keep him? Should he stay or should he go?

Personally I would extend if we can, he's done well for us.

Discuss....

As you will see in the table. Our position is quite sufficient for the top half of our league.

We are 7 points clear of 12th & a goal difference of 9

Quite happy to begin the winter months here. [emoji1]

Shaun has be nominated for Octobers manager of the month after winning 4 games.

Good luck to Shaun it would be a well deserved award.

Happy Birthday Les Bradd!

Shall we now have some PoN cake??

10686832_10152526926217983_4591295655481

I've always thought he looks like he's "flying here", he was one of many which my Grandfather liked. He would often tell me stories about goals Les had scored and this moment is one of them.

I really hope you will join me in wishing our legend many happy returns!

Especially our resident Rotherham fan @BradtheMiller..

"Notts County will be without three key players for Coventry City clash".

So, Roy Carroll, Michael Petrasso and Mustapha Dumbuya will be on international duty. Coventry is a pretty big game, so there's a chance for some fringe players to shine here.

Personally I don't really understand why Petrasso doesn't count, however I am fine to see us play. However I would have preferred to see it called off due to the nature of the tie. Yet I do think it presents some of the fringe players the perfect chance to get into our squad, our young keeper being one who needs game time (concerned about his confidence) but he should be able to step in. Petrasso isn't a major concern for me but would have been nice to have in this game. Dumbuya will be a miss for me, he's done very well recently and I am unsure about his cover.

How do you feel about the missing players? Is it a big thing? Do you think we will cope? Is it the perfect chance for fringe players to get a chance? Let's discuss the points here.

Thanks to everyone who took part, it was fun!

Drissa Traoré - Should he be tried?

Garry Thompson played upfront, he did well. It was a surprising tactic change which worked. Another was the addition of Drissa Traoré in the Scunthorpe game and he did well from all accounts I have heard from. He looked to have a decent debut and the pass of the season was made!

Now I think he should be given a go or at least somewhat a run.

We are missing that quality which a decent passer could do, he might have more quality in the bank. The french side he previously played for, their fans felt he was too good for a league one team. Why isn't he getting into the side? I don't think any of our midfield are irreplaceable.

How do you view this lad?

Do you like them? Does it feel different (minus the cold)? Lets discuss it. #winteriscoming

Opportunity Knocks for Bart

Ex Magpie keeper is in with a chance of starting more regularly for Ipswich Town after their no.1 Gerks hurt his groin. “Bart’s great, I’ve felt for him,” McCarthy admitted. “You see him in training, he breaks their hearts with some of the saves he makes".

The better he does, the better it is for us as Notts might receive cash if the Blues are promoted and a percentage of a future sale.

On a personal note I hope he does become their No1. Yet we have Big Roy now! You Pies

How do you see the move? Was it a good move for him? Do you see them going up? Do you see us getting any sort of return for this deal? Are you even bothered?

Let's discuss it.

Does anyone worry about the number of loan players we have in the squad at the moment?

Don't get me wrong they are doing a great job but one day they will have to go back to their parent club and where will that leave us?

Is it time we started signing permanent players so we can get a bit of stability in the squad? Or is that the way football is going now, players moving from club to club on loan especially in the lower leagues and even permanent signings have short contracts it seems. The days of 3 and 4 year contracts have gone.

Hello,

I am Tom or Thomas, you will be able to guess where I am from. Yes it is Clifton. I am a huge fan of the super magpies and I found the site after seeing a couple of fan made videos. Anyone else here from Clifton? Be sure to say hello.

Please give @Steve Wilson a warm PoN welcome.I hope you're soon posting and enjoying our site Steve.

It's not as bad as it sounds, it's when a song or piece of music gets stuck in your head and you can't get rid of it.

I must say it happens to me a lot, I also have songs that pop into my head for no apparent reason.

Is anyone else having trouble spotting weak links within the 2014/2015 squad?

At the start of the season it looked destined to be the midfield, Smith, Thompson and Jones all looking like candidates for the blame game. To some degree, the same could be said for Harrad.

Last but not forgetting striker Danny Haynes, he is the only one bar our youngsters.

It will be a tough call for Derry to trim this squad come the end of the season.

Last year they pretty much humiliated us and I hope we can repay that to them this year, I am surprised by how they have started. I really rate the way they play and although @sadlad told me awhile back they miss having Brandy and other strikers, I do think they have some decent options there.

That said I can see us scoring a few provided we play like we have been in recent weeks.

Harrad must be fancying his chances here, hopefully Noble can get something or put in another fine performance. It's going to be a cracking game, as Walsall are not a side to just sit back.

3-1 to Notts, I actually see them scoring first!

Thoughts?

Haynes debut gives Davis hope

173661494_3016530.jpg?20131009144958Steve Davis believes Danny Haynes can make a positive impact at Crewe after a promising debut in Saturday's loss to Sheffield United.

The on-loan Notts County forward was introduced off the bench in the 65th minute and caught the eye with his pace as Alex chased an equaliser.

"Danny showed some pace and directness in his play and he can take a chance in and around the opposition penalty area," Davis told the club website. "We saw glimpses of that potential on Saturday."

Davis has also backed defender George Ray to learn from his late red card versus the Blades, with the 21-year-old being dismissed after protesting to the referee.

"George let the frustration of the situation get the better of him because he felt he was fouled," added Davis.

"I don't know if it was for the reaction or because he put a hand on him but either way he knows he shouldn't be doing that. That is not in our style.

"He let it get the better of him and that is not the first time we have seen that side from George. He is working hard on that part of his game and this will be a learning curve for him."

Does striker Danny Haynes have a future at Notts? Could him leaving allow us to put his wages to good use? Thoughts on the article?
