So we now have a third tournament for the national side to play in. The Nations League, a product of UEFA.
ย
Now we only have the outline to go on, but I like the thought that it would be divisionalised (that's a new word I made up right there), the one thing it doesn't mention is the promotion and relegation from the divisions. As they say the devil will be in the detail, but here is the Beeb sport website article....

Notts County FC have complained about a billboard advertisement outside their ground, which they say is not in keeping with their "family ethos" and want it removed.

What do you think about this? Let us know but bear in mind when discussing this that we have all age groups on this forum so please keep it clean.

Today Cheeky~K8 popped out for a few hours and I was in charge of looking after the children (seriously they looked after me). Now I've cooked and prepared food for hundreds of people, so it doesn't faze me.
Children are easy right?
First Ava refused to eat? (this says nothing about my cooking)
Secondly Jake insisted that he had Turkey Dinosaurs and Smiley faces, Ellie on the other hand wanted Beans on Toast!
I managed to talk Ellie into having the same as Jake but with beans.
Guess what? Opening the tin up (or I should say trying), it exploded in my face and a portion of beans + sauce went everywhere close by. Now the tin's lid went straight into the can and being a typical man, I put the tin down and served the food as it was. No beans for Ellie! Now how can a tin being forced outwards explode into someone's face?
I suspect compressed air or something but seriously, beans went everywhere!!
Oh and I found this...

I'm a huge fan of zombies! I grew up obsessed and I have literally every mainstream DVD/Film - I'm also a massive fan of the comic book of the Walking Dead (yes before the TV series and before it went mainstream) literally back when you had to order it online! In fact I have several indie zombie comic books which will eventually become mainstream also I expect.
So, awhile back I heard that a new TV series was to be aired called "Z Nation".
It was labelled the new "Walking Dead" and "World War Z of TV". That got me pretty excited, however I ended up forgetting about it as I don't watch much TV in truth. I'm also not the biggest fan of World War Z (very overrated). It shares many cool elements and it's very good, yet I can pick so many faults with it spoils the movie.
TWD (Walking Dead) - Realistic, I can see myself within the show and it really says a lot about humanity. The whole series is a "what would I do" and a lot of the time, I think it's spot on.
Z Nation for me is a poor mix of popular movies, games and of course TWD. The acting is woeful, the story and key elements are fun. Yes, it's not "gloomy" - it is quite fun but the acting kills it. I can also be very knit picky about what's happening and several mistakes, now I tend to look past these but when I notice so many things it annoys me.
Both are good, though Z Nation isn't that great.
I was actually looking forward to Z Nation with it being uncharted but I'm 2 episodes in and questioning if I shall continue to watch.
Does anyone else watch either shows? opinions and thoughts?
@fulci I would love to know your opinion, especially since your nickname. ![]()

Just pulled out an article from The Mirror... about the Christmas day truce of 1914...
ย
I didn't realise that people were still killed that day, and a letter from one of the officers saying he couldn't leave the trench in case he was shot by sniper.

It is good that this will continue to be remembered, as at least a small shining light upon the face of humanity, and what we can continue to strive for...

Taking four grandchildren on the Santa Special steam train on Sunday, should be good fun, we went last year and the grown ups get a snifter of spirits and a mince pie, the kids get to see Santa at the end of the train, we never had anything like this when we were kids but then again all the trains were steam in those days. ![]()

Notts County's youth team arrived at Doncaster this morning with the knowledge that a win by two goals would send the young 'Pies to the top of the table on goal difference.
ย
Notts fell a goal behind after fifteen minutes when their keeper completely missed a clearance from a back pass as the ball bobbled past him and into the net.
ย
Doncaster held the lead for less than ten minutes when a run down the right wing by Luther Wilding followed by a quality cross was met by Colby Bishop who side-footed home just inside the near post.
ย
Doncaster came on strong in the second half and a second error by the Notts keeper resulted in a goalmouth scramble from which the home team regained the lead.
ย
On 65 minutes Notts went 1-3 down with a breakaway goal with the Doncaster forward chipping the advancing Notts keeper.
ย
Notts lost 1-3 in a fairly even and well contested game.ย A bit harsh perhaps but two goalkeeping errors were the difference between the two teams.

I see that our "friends" across the river were a bit peeved when the fourth official gave a hand ball against one of their players which resulted in a penalty and the player being sent off. This is very interesting because I didn't know that a fourth official could do that, how can he see a penalty standing on the half way line when the ref and his assistant who were much nearer missed it? As it happens video analysis proves the decision to be the correct one.
ย
What do you think, should fourth officials become more involved? They get enough harassment from the managers as it is, I can forsee more if this becomes the norm.

I just heard this on the radio and I cringed, "Jose Mourinho and Brian Clough are cut from the same cloth".
Now I spent many years disliking Brian Clough in my younger years, I hated his arrogance. Though I suppose this was based on by the fact the only person in my family who thought anything of him was @super_ram. My grandfather appreciated what he did but he didn't like him because of his smugness and attitude.
I dislike Jose Mourinho for pretty the same reason, yet I have grown to appreciate and like Brian Clough (I've matured I suppose).
I do not think that these two people are cut from the same cloth, Neil can be an idiot sometimes when he speaks. You just can't compare the two in my opinion, one played football and had a brilliant goal scoring record and became a manager known for his wheeling and dealing (yes he probably over spent) but what he did with clubs was impressive.
Jose Mourinho is lucky to have been able to manage gifted sides, yes he's a good manager but I don't think he could win the league with Stoke City let alone Nottingham Forest.
Rant over!

Great interview this with a young man (and don't forget his Dad!) who has the World at his feet as long as he can step up and make the grade.

We've just had one of the babies we mind admitted to Derby Royal Infirmary with bronchitis, and it goes without saying we hope h gets well soon, but an interesting conversation was had with his grandma this am. She is based in Kirkby, like us, but the parents of the boy live in Draycott and mum travels to work near us so uses us as minders. Gran was saying how disgusted she is with the care at DRI and it generally seems shabby and horrible. She wants him moved to Kingsmill.
Just getting peoples experiences of the local hospitals and their feelings towards them.
From our perspective we couldn't try for a better hospital in Kingsmill i we wanted. The buildings were built on the failed PFI idea, but it is superb and like any modern NHS facility should be, The care for our son has been second to none.
Now I obviously came from the centre of Nottm (hence being a b&w) so know Queens and City equally well, but I don't feel as confident in them, in terms of care of facilities.

This past month we asked several team and general members to add nominations for our motm.
After collecting opinions and the nominations, we open the floor to voting which 16 members joined in and cast their votes. We're at the stage where we name the members who are runners up, plus the overall winner. Thank you to the community members who took the time to vote and add their nominations.
61 posts have been by the winner, he joined us on November the 10th and claims the Member of the Month award for his first actual month on PoN. @Northants Pie will hold back the press!
Please take time to congratulate @DangerousSausage
Well Done buddy! You will have to take the floor at some point after preparing your speech!
Richly deserved.
Silver/2nd place goes to @super_ram who's been around ever since the dinosaurs - Well Done!
Bronze/3rd place goes to @Northants Pie - Well Done NP! Your youth team reports and posts are greatly appreciated.
Well Done to all the members who was nominated and to all those who have joined in, don't forget it's taking part that counts. Each and every visit makes a difference, as does your contributions. This upcoming month should be more trickier to name, so I hope you folks will make it even harder by continuing as you have been.
YOU PIES!!

The Saxophonist Bobby Keys who toured with the Rolling Stones for over 40 years has died at the age of 70, I am very very sad to hear this, I'm a big Stones fan and have been to 3 live shows in which Bobby has features, he was truly a great talent.

Here he is at his best.

Just got back from this and it was a very good night. I arrived outside and phoned @notts-joe as arranged because he had my ticket. The phone went to answer machine so I stepped inside the door and was spotted by Joe thankfully so I got in ok.
Joe had saved a table right at the front near the bar and stage and we went and sat down with @super_ram who was already on his sixth pint (only joking @GrannyPie go easy on him
)
It was great to see them both and have a chat before the speakers started. They were Paul Hart, Les Bradd, Dean Yates, Mike Edwards and Greg Abbott, they all gave an interesting talk about their footballing careers but the star of the show was Greg Abbott who gave an off the cuff talk more akin to a stand up comedian, he was very funny and had the audience laughing including the time when a Carlisle fan threatened to torch his house with his wife and kids in and said he hoped they died, Greg even managed to make this very serious subject funny. If ever he loses his job in football he ought to consider a career in comedy.
There was a raffle which none of us three amigos won but you can't have everything. Joe was darting about here there and everywhere with his media duties taking photos, videos etc
All in all it was a great night and I hope successful evening for the Academy. I'm sure @notts-joe and @Super _Ram can fill in any details I have missed. Thanks to all concerned.

Having beaten the league leaders Hull City 2-0 on Saturday, Notts youth team defeated mid-table Grimsby by the same scoreline this afternoon at Arnold and moved up to second place in the league table รขโฌโ just three points behind the leaders. ย
ย
Notts were ahead after only three minutes when a cross from Colby Bishop was fired home by Rico Fyfe.ย Notts doubled their lead on seven minutes when a Grimsby defender handled the ball in the penalty area and Colby Bishop coolly slotted home the penalty.
ย
The rest of the game saw Notts in control and trying to extend their lead with only the occasional attack by Grimsby.
ย
A very good performance by the young รขโฌหPies whose upturn in both performances and results could be linked to the arrival of Paul Hart รขโฌโ or it could be just a coincidence.
