Alot of rumour on the net and after reading JCR's interview in the red rag, I would be surpirsed if any of the players offered contracts stay with us. Seems to me that alot of the players have gotten a little carried away with the great escape and believe we have been promoted! Wrong. We scrapped through by the skin of our teeth from relegation to the lowest league in league football. Players should really remember that even though some showed great form in the last couple of months, the season runs for most of the year, and our club sat rooted to the bottom for most of it!!!
Β
Rumours of ΓΒ£4000 per week for Sheenan from Sheff Utd, I say good luck to him because no Notts fan (and I hope I include Rodders and Ray T in that) would ever consider him worth that! The club is still losing money right, left and centre so the wages need to reflect the league and final position of this seasons table. Crazy money for players that have done well for periods, then not so well will hinder the club even more. Look at Sheenans reaction to Danny Haynes! Then he would like similar money each week.
Β
I like Sheenan as a player and as a motivated captain, and he did give his all for the cause, but 4k a week. Thanks but no thanks.
Same goes for any of the others that feel they can hold us to ransom, including my signature player JCR.
Β
Might need a new signature soon Joe as I think new players will turn out to be starring next season. I trust Derry and GA to steer us correctly during the close season.
Β
Thoughts? Am I being too harsh on the players? (dont get me wrong anybody in their position would look to increase wages and length of contracts, but be reasonable, we avoided relegation. Just.)

Following on from the discussion of Greg Dyke's proposals on a B Team league (aka League 3), a petition has been set up against the idea. Β I've included relevant links below:

Dicker says he favours it, can't remember him standing out when we played Crawley on Bank Holiday but as a team they were solid. Anyone know if he's any good?

Hi, First let me thank you for letting me join your site.
Β
Two things have come to light over the past few weeks that we as football fans should be very worried about.
Β
First, is the proposal by Dyke to bring in another league so "B" teams can be used.
Β
Second, is something that is happening at Mildenhall Stockcar, Speedway and greyhound stadium.
Β
The proposal to form another league could spell the end for some lower division and non league teams. Β Under the guise of bringing youth through to international level. Β This as all the hall marks of Premiership bullying, and will only benefit those at the top. Β Could you please sign the petition below
Β http://www.change.org/en-GB/petitions/the-football-association-say-no-to-b-teams
Β
Secondly, and I think should give us most concern is what is happening at Mildenhall stadium.
Β
The Stadium is in the middle of nowhere and has been operating for nearly 40 years. A couple bought a bungalow close to the stadium and started complaining about the noise. It looks like the stadium will have to close after a court ruling. Β This ruling has set a presidence, now no stadium is safe. So if you love football, cricket, or even going to a pop concert this WILL effect you. Β Please sign the petition below, also the more people that know and sign the better, Β Could you please copy and share on social media, facebook ,twitter, ect. Β Thanks a very concerned football fan.

Good evening All,
I need your help if possible. Please follow the link provided, to give you an understanding of where I'm coming from.
www.facebook.com/groups/redscarfunion/
So, we are starting this season 14/15' in October and we are formulating a supporters group. This will be the first ever in the NHL. As you can see from the Facebook page, we are going to go all out this season and beyond. I'll give you a few ideas of what were up against;
Ottawa is in between Toronto and Montreal, our tickets are normally 25 to 50% less than Toronto Montreal. When Toronto and Montreal come to our stadium, sadly they outnumber us a lot. So we want to take our city back.
We have been in contact with upper management of the organization, and they want to emulate the football cheering and chanting. They want to be the loudest in the NHL.
I've been to a few games with the RSU. And both times, I felt right at home just like I was standing up at the top of the Zblock. Bloody love it.
So rightly so, i've been tasked with Being the maestro for close to 3000 people ha ha ha.
I need more chants and songs from over there, of course I know the basics and majority of chants. But need a few more. What is that one "This City is ours" ??? Qe beed that one ha ha
Thanks for all your help

Hey guys so I'm thinking of showing my support next year by buying season tickets though I can't make it to a single game. Should I do that? Give my tickets away to a lucky person every game? Or should I better serve my money with a player sponsership? Or something along those lines? As a far away supporter I'd like to do good with my money being spent half a world away. What do you all think?

Steve McClaren recently stated in local press that he is currently tracking the progress of some out of contract players, interestingly he mentioned us. Which players is he keeping tabs on?
Only this morning I spoke to a scout from Derby, obviously he wouldn't tell me much.
Ah... Oh well! Sheehan? Liddle? Bart? JCR? Murray? Spencer? Who could it be.

Hey there! I'm a new member from Italy. I support Juventus, and as many of Juve fans I'm grateful to Notts County for giving us our wonderful colours! :-)
Just about our colours, I would like to ask you something about a Notts County football shirt:Β
Β
Β
I want to buy it, but I can't understand neither if it is a training or playing kit, nor the corresponding season of employment.
Could someone help me?
Thank you very much!Β

Yes, the FA are actually considering introducing premier league B teams into the Football League.: http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/27289819
Β
I can't think of anything worse than watching Notts play in an empty stadium against another club's reserve team! It's a stupid idea. If they want B teams in a league, make a B team league. Don't destroy proper football just to please the big clubs and give some fanboy who couldn't even point to Manchester on a map but owns a replica shirt so thinks he's a real fan the chance to say he's actually been to see a game, albeit against Tranmere Rovers. No thank you!
Β
In fact would it even be helpful to the big clubs? They want to produce players who can play at International level. Would playing away at Dagenham & Redbridge on an awful pitch really be beneficial? I can't see it myself.
Β
So memebers of the FA - stick this idea where the sun don't shine!
Β
Rant over.

No real surprises imo.
Β
TEN players are leaving Notts County after not being offered new contracts, the Post understands.
Manager Shaun Derry is busy putting together his retained list of those player he wishes to keep and those who will not feature in his plans in League One next season.
And the club will today announce where the axe has fallen, in terms of those players not offered new terms at Meadow Lane after their deals ran out.
While the likes of skipper Alan Sheehan, Gary Liddle, Jamal Campbell-Ryce, Jimmy Spencer and Ronan Murray have all been busy negotiating terms with the Magpies hierarchy, other senior members of the squad will leave for pastures new.
Among them is the man who started the 2013/14 campaign as club captain, under then manager Chris Kiwomya, in defender Dean Leacock.
Fellow defenders Manny Smith and Gareth Roberts are also leaving the club.
In the midfield department, Andre Boucaud has not signed an extension.
The Trinidad and Tobago international signed an 18-month contract back in January 2013, after impressing during a loan spell from Luton, but will now leave along with fellow midfielders Mark Fotheringham, Malcolm Melvin and Adam Coombes.
Big Enoch Showunmi scored four goals for Notts last season but went out on loan to Plymouth in March, where he started two games and made five sub appearances, and he will also leave along with youngsters and fellow strikers Romello Nangle and Malachi Lavelle-Moore.
With Derry revealing his phone has been 'red hot' with players wanting to join the club next season, the gaps left by the ten players leaving will give him the chance to shape a squad with players he wants and who have the appreciation for Notts County he desires.
