Welcome to our site @RobbieEarle's perm.I hope you enjoy your time with us and soon get posting. Why not tell us a bit about yourself.

Hey all,

Β

I'd never heard of your team or side until last month. Australia is a bloody long way away, you know, and well let's face it, we've only been taking notice of the cricket lately here in the colonies.

Β

Then last month a bloke called Damian Irvine took up a job with your - now OUR - club. He saved my footy club over here. Keen to follow the happenings of the Magpies now he's on board.

Taken at 9pm 03-04. Glad I'm not paying the electricity bill.

qsl01x.jpg

A local derby on BT Sports tonight, should be a decent game. And a chance to see how Arquin is doing. You wont miss him. He'll be the 1 doing sod all.

Oh dear. looks like the bid for Enoch might have to be cancelled now then. :rolleyes:Β

Maybe we could do as swap deal Enoch for Messi if they cant buy him outright.

Barcelona transfer ban: Fifa issues 14-month sanction

Spanish champions Barcelona have been given a 14-month transfer ban by Fifa for breaking rules on signing international players under 18.

The Catalan club cannot buy or sell players until the summer of 2015 after the world governing body imposed a transfer ban for the next two windows.

They have also been fined 450,000 Swiss Francs (£305,000).

Analysis of Barca ban
Andy WestEuropean football writer in Barcelona

"This is a shattering piece of news for a club that had already endured a very difficult season off the pitch following allegations of tax evasion around the signing of Neymar.

"That saga led to the resignation of controversial club president Sandro Rosell in January. Now his replacement, Josep Maria Bartomeu, can expect overwhelming pressure from fans to call new presidential elections as soon as possible.

"The impact upon the team is also hugely significant. With veteran captain Carles Puyol and goalkeeper Victor Valdes leaving at the end of the season, the club had already announced their intention to splash out on top-class replacements. Now that seems impossible, which means the squad will be severely weakened next season.

"It is also yet another massive blow to Barca's previously much-respected global brand, which has taken a huge battering in the last few months and will be further tarnished by this latest development."

The Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) has been sanctioned by Fifa for the same breaches.

Barcelona are hoping to sign a new goalkeeper at the end of the season, with the long-serving Victor Valdes leaving the Nou Camp at the end of his contract.

The four-time European championsΒ have been linkedΒ Β with Borussia Monchengladbach keeper Marc-Andre ter Stegen, while theyΒ agreed a deal to sign17-year-old Croatia midfielder Alen Halilovic last week.

The RFEF has been given a fine of 500,000 Swiss Francs (£340,000) and told to "regularise its regulatory framework and existing system concerning the international transfer of minors in football" within a year.

Fifa rules stateΒ Β that international transfers are only permitted for players over the age of 18 - unless the player in question meets one of three qualifying criteria.

Under-18s can move to a club in a different country if their parents move there for non-footballing reasons, if they are from another nation within the European Union or European Economic Area and aged between 16 and 18, or if they live within 100km of the club.

A Fifa investigation - centred on several players aged under 18 who were registered and played for the club between 2009 and 2013 - found that Barcelona and the RFEF were guilty of a "serious" infringement of the rules in relation to 10 players.

Fifa told BBC Sport the identity of these players was confidential.

Its disciplinary committee said it sought to protect the best interests of young players, even if an international transfer might be beneficial to their football careers.

"On the basis of this analysis, the committee concluded that 'the interest in protecting the appropriate and healthy development of a minor as a whole must prevail over purely sporting interests'," said a Fifa statement.

The next Messi?

It is the latest off-the-field issue to trouble Barcelona this season.

Earlier this year, the Catalan club wereaccused by the Spanish authorities of tax evasionΒ relating to the £50m purchase of Brazil forward Neymar. A criminal investigation is under way, despite Barca making a "voluntary contribution" of more than £11m in taxes.

The club's president Sandro RosellΒ resignedafter he was accused of misappropriating funds in the deal.

Rosell and his successor Josep Maria Bartomeu insist the 22-time Spanish championsΒ have not acted illegally.

"Ronan Murray has been rewarded for his stunning form after he was nominated for League One's player of the month for March. The Notts County striker has been in..."

Official Article - Here

Well Done Ronan Murray, I hope he goes on to win it. It does highlight his hardwork!

Anyone else seen this?

Off work ill at the mo and watched it this afternoon. absolutely brilliant film.

Great work by all involved, from Greengrass at the top to Hanks in one of his best performances for years.

Non-stop rollercoaster which I highly recommend!

@notts-joe @tonyhateley @super_ram @4everapie @andy6025 @ivansneck @Canadian

please report to detention! @grannpie have your sticks ready ;)

We have three new members to welcome, well four if you count my spoof member.

Β

Anyway hopefully the others are legitimate so welcome @Pete T. @Ralph Wiggum and @sly_old_fox, I hope you all enjoy interacting with this friendly community. Please come and say hello we don't bite and you are sure to get a friendly welcome.

Since replacing my dying laptop, which suffered from over heating and several annoying 'blue screens'. I promised myself I wouldn't break a certain rule, I'm not going to say what that is but basically it annoys me that I have. It's almost on par with going to the city ground, anyone remember @tonyhateley's confession regarding that?

Can anyone suggest any suitable punishments?

Shall I replicate Bart Simpson and write many 'I should break my golden rule' x amount of times or perhaps, I should lay off picking on Tony and @super_ram? At least for a bit.

Suggest some ;)

Name a random song with a day in it.

Example - Manic Monday by The Bangles

Please just name one, allow time for others to join in and let's see how far we can go.

Hi all you magpies

Β

I am as my username states a disenchanted red, so I have decided to jump ship to see Notts from now on.

Β

It's like a circus over there and I am fed up with it.

Β

I've also persuaded a lot of folk who sit around me to come over and support Notts, in fact there is a growing number of people who are thinking of making the move. If anyone wants to come and say hello to us we will be in the kop at the next game, we haven't got our Notts shirts yet so we will have to wear our Forest shirts but hopefully that won't be a problem, there are about 50 or 60 of us. Can't wait to get down the lane and support our new team.

YOU PIES FOR EVER

Football often gets criticised. The players are overpaid. The sport has been corrupted by money. There's no pride in football any more. But even just in the last decade or so, I can pinpoint several runs, moments, happenings in football that are straight out of a feelgood Hollywood film, or a fairytale. And I'm not just talking "small club has amazing cup run", I'm talking about communities, nations that are ravaged by unrest, poverty, strife, disaster, that are given a huge shot of adrenaline thanks to moments in football. Moments that people will truly cherish for the rest of their lifetime. Here are just a few examples from the last few years in my ever so humble opinion.

Zambia winning the 2012 Africa Cup of Nations

Aside from the fact that Zambia are a small, unheralded team probably on a par with, say Latvia or Estonia, featuring no marquee names, they used to have a team back in the 90s that was deemed good enough to make the World Cup, but in 1993, a plane crash sadly killed most of the team. And where did this crash happen? Gabon, where the 2012 ACN was co-hosted. So for them to go on and beat some of the continent's greatest teams and win the competition outright was an absolutely incredible showing.

Β

Iraq winning the 2007 Asian Nations Cup

Iraq, a country in the middle of a war, went on to beat regional powerhouses Australia, Saudi Arabia and South Korea to win this trophy against all odds.

Β

Β

Japan winning the 2011 Women's World Cup

The Japanese women's team is of an alright standard, but nowhere near the top echelons, which are graced by Germany, the USA and Sweden. Nevertheless, they went on to shock all three and win the trophy. In 2011 Japan also experienced a calamitous earthquake and tsunami, so the victory was all the more poignant.

Β

Tahiti's goal in the Confederations Cup against Nigeria

Β

Only one measly goal, a consolation strike in a 6-1 thrashing at the hands of the African champions, before two games which saw 18 goals put past them without reply, but for lowly Tahiti, a small country in the Pacific, to even make it to the Confederations Cup (New Zealand was sensationally beaten by the Solomon Islands in the Oceania Nations Cup, with the victors of that bout being then turned over by Tahiti) was a miracle in itself, but for them to score a goal... you can see how much it meant to them, and to all football neutrals the world over. They will never forget that moment.

I was wondering are we doing a world cup prediction league? Once the 'main' season is over I thought maybe we could do a world cup league...plus it keeps us all remembering the site :) and non-NCFC footie fans may fancy a go aswell

Kids make me laugh when they are trying to do April Fools jokes.

Β

Our grandson George hasn't quite got the hang of the fact that it has to be at least partly believable.

Β

Here are a few examples of his today:

Β

"Grandad a plane has just landed in the garden"

Β

"Grandad you've got your shoes on in the house" - we only allow slippers.

Β

"Granny look out there's a big spider on your head"

Β

Of course we had to pretend to be fooled by his tricks.

Β

What April Fools joke did your kids/grandkids play on you today?

Hi guys,

Not sure if you or anybody you know has been diagnosed with a learning disability. It's not fun.

I can read and write very well, however I suffer from ADHD, i am taking medication for it.

I must have carried it over from my childhood., since I have been in the workforce I have been in approximately 20 positions. One or two have lasted more than 1-2 years. it is very hard to concentrate on one specific task.

I'm on the lookout for a new job again. I only had my last job for two months, and they said that I wasn't making enough sales, without warning and no indication of discrepancies. Plus I was on probation for the first 90 days so they had every right of course, So here I go again in the job hunt.

As always, keep smiling and carry-on, that's all you can do.

have a fantastic day everyone :D

What with @4everapie,@Canadian and @hissingdwarf and the usual flu/colds we can now add @notts_joe to the list. I've just had a phone call from Cheeky telling me that Joe has had to go to hospital for a X-ray after dislocating his 'good' knee.

Het Nederlands heeft het WK Twenty20 afgesloten met een eclatante overwinning op Engeland: de geschiedenis herhaalde zich na de zege van Oranje in 2009 op hetzelfde land tijdens het WK T20 in Engeland op Lord's.

I hope this doesn't need translating

Gosh this week is a busy one. We have a family wedding on Saturday....I have my dress but still need shoes (darn it shoe shoppingΒ  :cheerleader: ) I also have my nieces and nephews easter eggs to pick up....and Harry's easter present (Which involves going to an opening of a new toy store....it's not like it is going to be busy is it :)).

Β

But to de-stress I plan on doing some more smash booking (abit like scrap booking but more fun) as well as crochet. Which I have been doing like mad.

Β

I also have orders from my son, nieces and nephew to make some more goodies for them on my loom....mainly minion keyrings and bracelets.

Β

What are you all up to this week / weekend?

Β Nathan Tyson: Notts County extend Blackpool striker's deal

Blackpool striker Nathan Tyson has extended his loan spell with Notts County until the end of the season.

The 31-year-old was signed on aΒ month-long deal from BlackpoolΒ and has made three appearances but is yet to score.

He has started three games and came on as a substitute in the last three - all of which Notts have won to climb out of the League One relegation zone.

The ex-Nottingham Forest and Derby man has not started a game for Blackpool since joining in September 2013.
