I have no plans to abandon Twitter, at all.

As the very first Notts fan and fan account to join Threads, I take great pride in this milestone. I realise that social media isn't going anywhere, but with fans making home to networks such as Blue Sky - I believe it warrants a PON account. This has been encouraged by @ARLukomski, which at first I wasn't all that taken to doing but in hindsight it does seem to be as equal to Threads.

You can follow Pride of Nottingham on Blue Sky here.

I openly acknowledge that the site, and social media channels have been quiet, but this is for personal reasons. I greatly appreciate your understanding. My aim is to ensure Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Threads and Blue Sky are all different in some form.

Which I would also like to mention, that within the new year I plan to open a discord server that will be more for updating the community here on site related downtime, maintenance, articles, news etc.

Due to the hacking incident, and even before that I am anxious about sharing sensitive information outright on social media channels.

i have noticed that a fair amount of fans have mentioned joining blue sky, i think it does make sense to go with the flow and establish differences within the pages. the discord server sounds like a good way to keep us members updated. 👍

I understand the decision, but I doubt anyone would seriously leave Twitter permanently because there will always be more people on Twitter. All it's doing is diluting the support base. The only exception is if Elon Musk continues to ruin Twitter X.com.

Is BlueSky any better than Twitter which I find very toxic sometimes with people openly sharing stupid conspiracy theories, racist language and using the platform for their own political agenda with seemingly no moderation, I very rarely use it now.

yes, it looks like a very positive place to be from reading.

i am not the biggest twitter user but i am considering joining blue sky, if it is how it seems then i might post about notts. i dont on twitter because idiots tend to take what i tweet out of context looks for a quick reaction. i hope those types stick with twitter because it suites them. i do wish that some of the fans making the leap from twitter to blue sky realise that if they did similar with pon and just invested some of their time to joining the conversations here it would have a similar impact to how blue sky has picked up on the notts front.

It’s not bad at the moment, I’ve only had one raging lefty appear on my timeline so far and she was doing my head in, but since I blocked Carol Vorderman it’s been a lot better!

Notts chat has been very civil so far.

I hesitated when @ARLukomski suggested it, but honestly it's a breath of fresh air.

I spent some time in the early hours before I got some sleep reading, and I found myself wanting to create a personal account. I do like Threads, but the engagement on it is iffy at best, and there's a large amount of bot accounts. It's very similar to X in that regard, but Blue Sky I haven't had anything like it.

Plus you can customise your feeds, and restrict what content you see such as nudity and the more full on variety.

The thing is, if people keep at it. A Notts community there will flourish, and I think it's a lot safer than Elon Musks attempt at building himself a global platform which in-visions only what he thinks and sees. He's literally killed Twitter, and is verging on the point of ruining X. There was a bit of a period where Threads blossomed, but it quickly faded, and I just hope Blue Sky isn't one of those scenarios.

BSky is a lot better for blocking and restricting content.

I'm now on Bluesky to talk all things Notts, general sports & support PON on there too.

I tried tweeting back in the day. There's not really a sense of communicating or making friends. I mostly interact by liking stuff, but BlueSky does sound interesting. I think it's important for PON to go with the flow, and identifying how to make the pages different is a very good idea.

I joined Bluesky, and it reminds me a lot of the early days of Twitter. I hope they don't cater to those who want live-streaming and the like. It's refreshing to see a place that includes media from other sites instead of making users choose them. Follow me at @theskipperncfc.bsky.social.

Come on @Fan of Big Tone, drop Twitter and come check it out.

@TheSkipper I’ll give it a go but I don’t want to drop Twitter as I have a lot of messages my late son sent me when he was alive, they mean a lot to me and I don’t want to lose them.

I am not leaving Twitter, but I will be more active on BlueSky. It would be good to see you there. Once more of the lads join and we connect as a community (PON members), we could bring more togetherness to the site. I think it would be a good thing. I would love to see more content about you outside of Notts.

My parents don’t want me using social media. I have accounts on Facebook, but Twitter and Instagram are off-limits. BlueSky would probably be the same, but it’s nice to see the site expanding. Fans should appreciate this, as I heard that Notts have turned it down.

@Blake I hadn't heard that Notts have turned Bluesky down. Maybe they will change their minds when they see the number of Notts fans on there.

They haven’t turned it down as such, they are a little stretched media team wise, but will monitor the situation. Basically, they’re waiting for it to become more popular before making the leap.

I'll probably sign up to BlueSky at some point, especially if there is a growing Notts community on it. I'll be sure to follow PON and the rest of you guys on it too.

That's nearly a full house for the PON socials... Just the TikTok account to go now!

I can’t believe how many Notts fans are on there, someone has put a list of all the Notts fans and I followed them all (175 so far), a lot have followed me back, there are more joining all the time, it all seems very friendly, I hope it stays that way.

I’m not very keen on social media, but I do see how important it is for PON to have a page on BlueSky. I hope it helps the community get to know each other beyond the site and has a positive effect here.

The Notts community on BlueSky is growing. Any PON members who haven't joined yet please consider joining.

I might seem stubborn, but I would rather be followed by x amount of people who want to engage. Then, the x++ simply desires a follow back. BlueSky seems different, but it does anyone on Twitter (X) that you get people obsessed with numbers. You follow back, perhaps even engage, and then you are unfollowed. I tended to block and unfollow.

With my personal account on BlueSky, I hope to share more on than I would on Twitter (X).

As for PON, a smaller following can be better at first. On Facebook the page quietly broke 5,000 followers, and it's not something I tend to go on about. Milestones are fun, but I would rather focus on the content. BlueSky has motivated me towards stepping up a bit more.

No chance, @super_pie has suggested this firstly as a joke but then as a more serious way of reaching younger fans. 😂

I would rather put time towards getting the better media PON had back and on a constant basis, than to do short videos talking about Notts or attempting to start a viral 'Notts dance'.

You've had two now :happybanana:

In all seriousness though, you need to be where the people are and as a non-political site I think it's sensible to maintain a presence on X for the time being, alongside Bluesky which seems to be growing fast. Time will tell whether that one turns out to be the new Twitter or a flash in the pan like Threads is threatening to be. Personally I stayed away from Twitter and I won't be using the new platforms either.
