I saw this has been discussed on PoN facebook page but for those of us who don't frequent facebook. What did you think of the booing at the end of Accrington game?

Β

Do you think booing the team off is justified in view of the performance.

Β

Or do you think you should clap and support the team no matter what.

Β

Personally I did neither, I would never boo (except the referee) either during or after a match but neither did I think that the performance warranted by applause. For those who went did you boo or applaud at the end and why? For those who didn't go would you have booed or would you have applauded or neither?

I stand by all my comments made on the page.

I think it's easy to judge and whereas I personally don't like it, I would never boo Notts. I have learned to accept it, sometimes it's just a way for the fan(s) to express themselve(s) and other times it's more because of frustration. It's an aspect of modern football which will only go away if people stand up and try to make a difference, I am afraid that people will rather boo after a poor game then to clap.

Encouragement goes far but it's to be expected.

It isn't and has never been a virus.

Its pointless way of excercising your views.

If you are angry, walk a way and go home. When you return wipe the slate clean and back the squad, so many come back moaning about the last game it is really pathetic.

Depends. If you walk away early you normally switch the radio on to hear Uncle Colin making throw away comments about fans are fickle and leaving early!

Don't partake in booing personally, but understand its a way of letting the team immediately know how the paying public view their current performance. Walking doesn't have any impact on the players in the field at that time unless it's on mass.

Leaving early and booing kills a level of the enjoyment at a match.

It must not be easy for the players. Fans just think of the money but pressure is applied to every aspect in life and that makes simple tasks much more difficult. I dont boo, I find it pointless but I understand it.

Quite frankly I'd describe those who boo'd on Sunday with a few expletives, and I make no apology for that, however I'll spare you the words.

I think a lot of our supporters need a serious reality check to be honest. In all honesty we are overachieving being in the top six (not that I'm complaining), and after last season EVERYONE should be happy to enjoy the ride so far. Yeah we might not be pretty but can anyone honestly say they'd rather have the side we had last season? It was shamefull.

Β

But now all of a sudden because we had a good run, people expect us to mount a play off charge, well I'm sorry but it won't happen like that. We are not a side that's going to go and play anyone off the park and win 3 or 4-0, especially if you take half of the regular first teamers out of the picture. I don't care if your Notts County or Juventus - you take away half the regular first choice 11 it has an effect.

Β

And reading some of the comments on facebook, like: "had a right to boo as we should be tearing teams like Accrington apart" truly makes me cringe. Football dosen't work like that.

Β

Accrington came to ML and didΒ a job on us similar to what we did at Preston, Port Vale, Peterborough, and attempted to do at home to Bristol City. You can't cry about it when someone does it against us.

Β

I'm actually genuinely really annoyed at the reaction of some fans. After last season, really? Look how far we've come in such a short space of time. Don't know what some people's expectations of this club are. I really do despair sometimes.

Β

Hopefully the vast majority of fans who are right behind the club will get right behind the team on Saturday (we're depleeted, they'll really need it) and drown out the moaners.

Very well put @weymouthPIE.I think booing and team criticism is borne out of frustration and expectation. It's the same everywhere with certain supporters.Win a few games and the poor or lucky performances are forgotten or overlooked. and the team are ,in the eyes of some fans, hailed as invinsible.Lose a couple of games and the same fans are predicting relegation and the end of the world.

Oh its childish.

There was not much of it around me but the Kop was at it's loudest after the game. I really do not like hearing our fans boo the team! One week its merry, the next its not. We have to accept a few things and not take this division for granted.

Ok, so I have booed at Matches before, and this has been aimed at Match officials, 'cos we always get (not very good) refs, ex players for the first couple of touches (this is normally after giving them a nice welcome back), and the eeejits(them lot deserve booing at every opportunity).

Β

I have never boo'ed Notts in that way, I don't get it, you are a supporter, some people need to look up the meaning of that word. Yes you pay your money, but you are there to support as well as be entertained. There are two teams on a pitch and normally if one isn't playing quite how you'd like them, the other team is doing a blooming good job. It's called silencing the crowd.

Games I have attended win lose or draw get the same discussion, after that its gone, and on to the next. On here, I think it is right that we are able to bring back up the good, the bad and at times the down right ugly...

the subject annoys me, there is no need for it.

difference between someone attending? do fans and supporters really have difference classes? i will never understand why fans do it, some near me are singing songs about loving notts and the next booing because of an iffy performance. i just dont get it!

It is what it is, sadly a part of a modern fans reaction.

I do not leave early, I do not boo but I understand. Last season I left meadow lane generally always annoyed and somewhat disappointed, I never booed the team and I join in with backing the club.

People are different, so find being supportive hard and they are branded fickle.

Booo, boooo, booooo.

Fans simply expressing themselves, I do not give it a thought really. Pleased or not, I support the team.
