Rumoured to be coming back.

Would you have him?

For me he's a very good player and his set pieces are good. However, looking at our squad, do we really need another left back? I know he did a job for us filling in at CB, but really he's a LB.

I hope not, I know we didn't replace him but I do hope we have moved on. I would prefer a number of ex players back over him, including Arquin.

He left for more money. Now we have more money, he might be coming back!

I have nothing against Alan Sheehan and I think he could add strength to our squad, provided he wanted to be here and he wanted to play the centre back position. I have heard people say they saw him driving over lady bay bridge but I believe he still lives in Nottingham - I hope this isn't just a rumour started because a fan or someone saw him near Meadow Lane.

If he signs, I will welcome him back and be supportive.

Good player no one can deny that and would do a job for any club at League 2 level

However i don't really like him his comments against Notts seemed very negative at the end of his stay and didn't seem bothered about being here and obviously went to make his bank acount look more appealing

it says alot about footballers these days to say he will want to come back now we suddenly have money its not a coinicidence

I agree with the first part, but Arquin?!

Hang on a bit everyone, Sheehan left for more money who if we are being honest wouldn't do the same? I've left several jobs in my working life to get more money to support my family as best I can, that's what Sheehan did nothing wrong with that in my opinion.

I can't remember what he said at the time and maybe some of his remarks were ill advised but I'd have him back definitely.

@tonyhateley - I don't switch jobs based on pay, hence why I tend to volunteer also, even if it means no rewards or anything of that nature. I feel the gain from within and I can honestly say, I'm not a money person.

@RayTrew I believe once mentioned our offer matched or beat Bradford's.

We can only speculate and give our own opinions.

Good for you @notts-joe you are pretty unique then, most people want to better themselves and have more money for the finer things in life but I agree that money doesn't equal happiness and it can bring the opposite, my son found that out.

@tonyhateley - You can better yourself without money, switching jobs (or losing them).

Any skills learned are important and can be applied to something else in the future, I may be unique but I know within a few years my rewards will come. I'm not one of these 'now, now' type of people and I can slog a decent innings. ;)

we honestly dont need him, why take him back when we could have had ben davies? alan sheehan cut his own cloth, we can do better. we want players who see notts as a club which is moving forward, not a stepping stone for themselves without equal returns.

for the record, i like alan as a person and a player but i would not welcome him back out of principle.

Theres always rumours about ex-players coming back but not that many of them do nowadays. I don't think we need him now, we should focus on players who accept slightly lower wages now we are unfortunately in league two. That is possibly the only good thing about going down a league.

You're mixing your metaphors @liampie I think you mean Alan Sheehan made his bed, as in he made his bed now he can lie in it.

I knew what you meant though that's the main thing.

I don't think this is anymore than just a rumour, we have enough left backs already and we have just signed cbs.

Don't look back in anger, lets move on.

He would not last long before he got bored and I distinctly recall fans saying his first season for us was poor.

I would just like to make it clear that, whilst I did say some weeks ago that we had missed Alan Sheehan's leadership skills, I have nothing to do with the alleged proposal to sign him up again.
