So we have a few details regarding Notts County's 2018-19 pre-season preparations from Big Al.

Thoughts on who the teams may be? Who would you like to get?

The Portugal training camp sounds good, hopefully fans can attend.

why do people always obsess over playing nottingham forest every pre season?

it makes it boring, i would rather see us play teams we have not played for awhile and then come back to forest (as it is a good way to fill meadow lane). the portugal tour was supposed to be an italian tour if people remember. hardy seems to have done a u turn for some reason.

I believe the home game with a Premier League team is Leicester City, I heard people discussing it when the boys had their picture taken with Kevin Nolan - someone else suggested that it would be a friendly and I didn't think they would want to come to Meadow Lane considering their growing stature.

I'm more interested about the two home games, perhaps a few local ones thrown into the mix too.

Not remotely interested about going to Portugal, I don't have a passport but one day I would love to go on tour. If we had of gone to Italy, I would consider it strongly as it would be nice to catch up with the @Italian Magpies.

A solid test pre season would be excellent, it's good to see two teams lined up from the top two tiers. Lets just hope Alan Hardy has the agreements signed and safely kept!

Leicester City would be a good local tie.

I notice some red dogs have been asking Alan if we will be playing Forest, why they seem so bothered I will never understand.

Makes a change from playing Rolls Royce, Forest and Carlton every season

We should be playing several local sides, usually these are used as a way to test trialists and get players sharper for the more serious friendlies.

I suspect we'll play Rolls Royce, Basford and Ilkeston.

That’s about right Portgal. I was there last year in ‘pre season’ time so I could have gone to see them last year.

@BigAl any chance of a quick trip to Ireland so I can watch the friendly whilst I’m there for a couple of weeks late summer?

Hmmm, Portugal eh? Good excuse for a holiday in the camper.

Me: ”Darling how do you fancy a trip to Portugal in the Motorhome, imagine walking on the beach in the setting sun”

Mrs. BigTone: “Oh, how romantic, that would be lovely”

Sorted. :joker:

I think I am one of few who isn't actually bothered about the pre season.

I mean its good for the club but as a fan there is nothing to the game, teams usually don't take them seriously and the games suck in terms of atmosphere. Roll on the league I say.

I agree up to a point but I think by the time pre season comes round we’ve been that starved of our football fix that we can’t wait to get down to watch any game and to take a look at any new players.
