Duffy signes new contract for 18/19 season

No in all seriousness, he's got to improve this season. He could be a useful player if he became more responsible for his defending, not allowing players to go past him likes he's a ghost and certainly no throwing himself to the ground. I really do hope we sign another solid CB though, Duffy isn't that player for me and I just think Brisley would be so much better if we did have someone more robust at actually defending.

A field where dreams become reality.

It doesn't worry me so much but I would agree he needs to improve, KN will want to keep the defence similar. Offering Duffy a new deal makes sense, once on the table you know it will be signed.

To be expected.

Richard Duffy can be a good player on his day, decent backup option but I would like to see him fighting for a starting place. Currently he's almost certainly guaranteed this, if we are to improve this cannot happen.

only two remaining players to agree terms now? pindroch and o connor.

always expected duffy to sign, i think he can work hard but tends to go missing quite a bit. when he puts in a shift he can be very good so i would hope he can improve his form and overall contribution on the pitch. its not a bad thing, just need another cb too.

I’m happy he has resigned he has the exspirence that we need. The thing is we didn’t know if Collins and Duffy had issues on the pitch cause can change how a defender plays and as captain that required him to be on it more. But this season he needs to step it up and I truly believe he will and Nolan has made the right choice.

In the ideal line up I would hope we can keep clear of seeing Richard Duffy start, he isn't consistent enough and a few good tackles, can't hide the fact he's pretty neglectful at the back. I have nothing against him as a person or a player, being a backup is fine but first team... IT'S A BIG NO!

Get another good CB and we'll be much better for it.

A good solid player, who is part of a settled back four. But can’t ,necessarily, call him a professional, as his temperament and inability to stay on his feet needs addressing.

If/when he plays I hope he spends less time on the floor with his hands in the air looking for the ref.

It’s good that we keep the nucleus of the defence in the squad but if we could get Ben Hall back for a full season I would be happier. If not we really need to create competition for that position.

Richard Duffy isn't solid but hes okay, if we are to improve like we did since allowing Hollis to leave, we must do the same thing with Duffy.

But at this stage, I think it makes sense to give him a new deal and look for a replacement down the line. If another new CB comes in, it may be a matter of when and not if regarding his release.

I had hoped another club would have come in for him, unfortunately this has not happened and he's extended his stay. I'll get behind him but if Kevin Nolan dares pick him over someone else who deserves to start [as we saw with Hall] I won't be happy.

Oh oh oh ohhhhh, everywhere where we go, watching super County putting on a show!
