No I didn’t unfortunately, only watched them on the pitch. My missus would love to have met Stevie Carter though she had the hots for him, it’s the only reason she used to come to the match.

Hey up @CliftonMagpie , i did all my schooling at Clifton, anyway my all time favourite player is Iain McCulloch, they don't make em like him anymore, my father's all time favourite was Jackie Sewell .

OK smartypants.-"It's something I have no control over.It could have been any team but win ,lose  or draw Derby County will always be SUPER to me.They just are.Fact !"

How's that @TheSkipper.you see it doesn't matter what anyone else thinks,just as Notts are to you.

My first match 1956-The balls did indeed have a bladder (not pigs though) inside a leather casing which had to be laced up.When wet the leather absorbed water and the balls became heavy.Heading a wet ball was a painful experience.In fact they were almost like cannonballs.If you were hit  by a ball you would often get the imprint of the laces on your skin.

Cloth caps(Ratters)were the most common headgear along with trilbys.No trainers then,or hoodies.Players were paid much less then and often travelled to the ground by bus

The attendance for my first game-3rd  Division North - 34,000 plus

@KingKewell well my knowledge isn’t as strong as probably many of you as I only started following Notts in 1994/95. Gives me quite a few managers to choose from though unfortunately. I actually liked the football philosophy that was being instilled when Gary Brazil was caretaker, and also liked Munioz again due to trying to install a proper footballing team.

Let’s face it Ray Trew enjoyed weilding the axe, so I’d have liked Muinioz to get more time, though I wasn’t a fan of many of his signings.  Gary Brazil was probably never managerial material, but he obviously knows the game and plays it the proper way. So I’d choose one of the above, non of our other managers have really ever done more with less apart from the obvious from what I have seen.

Hold focus groups would be my first port of call. I would select a variety of different season ticket holders to join in on a meeting with my board so we can discuss the club's future and what the fans think need improving and what is good and bad around the ground. I would also engage with the fans on social media when things go bad and good and explain myself when things go bad. I would invest heavily in the academy and promote youth into the first team. I would also hire scouts to countries that maybe have hidden talent and people look down upon them due to crime or poverty. Probs send scouts out to places like Kenya, Algeria, South Africa, Honduras places like that. As i could guarantee there is the next Gareth Bale waiting in one of those countries but would never get a chance to shine. I would turn the club into a talent factory investing the money in youth yet buying a few proven players to provide experience in the team. Then watch us climb the leagues.

I think that would have to be the player we called “The King” non other than Don Masson, a cultured midfield player from the 70s.

I almost added at the end of my question that my guess would be exactly who you said.Don Masson was one of my favourite players too and I had the pleasure of seeing him play for a short time in a Rams  shirt.

I used it because of moving to the US.

I'm based in Iowa but I have no fixed residency at the moment, mostly because I work in transportation and delivery so I spend most of my time travelling across the states.

I do like the Don McLean song which was written about the tragic loss of Buddy Holly and others.

I didn't realise I discussed Derby  on here other than when playing Notts or for comparison.I can take a hint though-Perhaps I'd better just go on a Derby site.
