Finally our first win! Not the prettiest but we got the job done! Based on /10.

Fitzsimmons - 6/10 - Made a few decent saves, finally looks like hes starting to get his confidence back. Few questions asked at time regarding catching but apart from that he played well.

Evina - 7/10 - Brilliant assist for Hewitt's headed goal. He looks a decent unit with pace and with attack and drive constantly on his mind. I think DJ will struggle to get ahead of him now.

Turley - 6/10 - Again solid at the back. Was slightly at fault for Crewe's goal but nothing major. He's the defender we've been waiting for. 

Ward - 7/10 - Solid from him again. No questions asked. His experience is key for Notts at the back.

Tootle - 5/10 - Effort was 10/10 but can't help but think at the back of my mind he's not the player he was last year. Average for me.

Boldewjin - 5/10 - He is such a quality player but sometimes lacks effort. Off the ball he is lazy imo but when he's on the ball he explodes with life and confidence. Seems to shy away from the dirty work but if that is part of the game plan then so be it. 

Hewitt - 7/10 - Much improved from recent weeks. Brilliant headed goal at the back post and completely left Crewe's defence for dead on that one. He should be proud of his performance today. 

Milsom - 7/10 - Did his job well, took his goal well. He is proving to be just the player we need in the middle of the park. 

Alessandra - 5/10 - Played ok but not outstanding, he sometimes misses the obvious passes and goes more complex and it doesn't work out. Hopefully he can stay in form and keep putting the effort in. Think his style of play will make him thrive under Kewell.

Hemmings - 5/10 - Effort 100% again. Unlucky not to get a goal and think he will hit some serious form soon.

Stead - 5/10 - Great captain again! Fouled countless times but never got given any credit. Again effort was there but struggled to get through Crewe's defence. Look very very tired post 75 minutes. 

 

I think we played OK at best but it was important for us to get a win and we have done. 3pts in the bag and hopefully a few more to come.

Fitzsimons 6.5 Regaining confidence, made some good saves, one poor punch but sun may have been in his eyes?

Tootle 5.5 Certainly not as effective as last season, but having Alessandra in front of him, doesnt help the cause

Turley 5 Dreadful mistake for the goal otherwise solid

Ward 6.5 some classy step overs, nearly giving Fitz headaches...but really solid

Evina 7 a LB with an ability to pass and a sparkling cross for Hewitt's goal

Boldewijn 6.5 Double marked, which says allo you need to know of the other flank. Only genuine threat in offensive mode

Hewitt 6.5 Improved, yes, but ability to waste possession  there for all to see. Good header for goal having made a complete hash of one minutes earlier

Milsom 6 Goal but I worry about his "engine" at times. Some good tackles

Alessandra 5 Not effective out wide, too many times checking back. It may appear he is putting effort in but in reality , no end results

Hemmings 5.5 Agana-esque , just doesn't appear a real goal threat, despite the effort

Stant 5 Blatant penalty not given when his shirt was being wrenched from his back. Ref gave him nothing all game

Fitzsimmons - 5/10 - He never looked troubled really but wasn't to blame for the goal either. 

Evina - 5/10 - A bit empty, okay at defending but greedy going forward. 

Turley - 6/10 - Did well, he can't be blamed for slipping and overall he did the job.  

Ward - 5/10 - Caught out a few times but did well, a large improvement over Duffy. 

Tootle - 6/10 - Played very well, a little scrappy but gave his all to the team.

Boldewjin - 6/10 - Looked good throughout the game and contributed to both attacking/defending.

Hewitt - 5/10 - Average, never a man of the match performance but better. 

Milsom - 5.5/10 - Wasteful and often looked lacking fitness, he did well. 

Alessandra - 7/10 - Very good performance and a lot of creativity from him. 

Hemmings - 5.5/10 - He did well enough, his cheeky finish that almost went in was sublime.

Stead - 7/10 - Excellent performance, he was just tired but throughout the game he looked fired up.

Fitzsimmons - 5/10 - Pretty basic game for him, a few good saves but most was standard for any keeper. He did look more confident.

Evina - 5/10 - Okay, nothing special and I do agree he wasted moves by running or holding onto the ball. 

Turley - 6/10 - Solid performance and was the best defender on the pitch for me. Commanding in every sense of the word.  

Ward - 5/10 - Average and nothing flash, he did his job. I can't complain at all. 

Tootle - 6/10 - He looked good back in the squad and contributed to the team's overall performance.

Boldewjin - 6.5/10 - Very good going forward, he needs to think more carefully and faster at times. He wasted chances like Evina did but overall he worked much harder and gave Notts something different.

Hewitt - 4/10 - Unimpressed, he almost killed the tempo at every opportunity in the first half and was very wasteful. Man of the Match? Please, it's embarrassing. 

Milsom - 5/10 - Stuck in first gear most of the time, he fought well and passed the ball nicely but I just felt it was pretty standard stuff.

Alessandra - 7/10 - Looked very comfortable, mopped up play and game us a turn of speed/skill. He needs to hit the flanks a bit more but was creative today. 

Hemmings - 6/10 - Worked hard, chased things - he played neat football and he just needed a goal.

Stead - 8/10 - Solid performance, he was lively and creative. He's playing the roles of many, so I just felt he was the heart of the attack and he did very well.

Slightly harsh imo. Hewitt came in well and did a lot of good stuff off the ball ans kept the pressure up. Surely worth more than 4?

Ward was a mixed bag but would go 6 at least. Flashes of quality and flashes of “needs more game time” mixed in.

Nah, for me he was responsible for allowing Crewe to have more of the play in the first half.

We was like a sitting duck at times.

He did all the pretty and noticeable stuff okay, but he was a weak link. He needs to dig in more, as he's very poor off the ball and just leaves himself too far from any real defensive duties - especially if it requires effort.

Fitzsimmons - 5/10 - still not convinced. His best save was one that was easily going out for a goal kick and that punch out was a joke .....

Evina - 7/10 - Great assist for Hewitt's goal. Still a bit careless in possession but getting better every game.

 Turley - 6/10 - solid at the back. Yes, losing his footing was a factor in Crewe's goal but other than that a another good performance. Will be a great asset when he’s fully settled in.

Ward - 7/10 - Solid from him again, Close to MoM for me. Bringing some order to the defence.

Tootle - 6/10 - Always gives his best and getting to know the other members of the back 4.

Boldewjin - 4.5/10 - Not the 100% worker that Notts fans expect. Flashes of quality but can’t win a ball to save his life. 

Hewitt - 7/10 - Looked to be more like the player he was last season. Fantastic header, just hope he can build on this performance.

Milsom - 7/10 - Another solid performance. Nice to see some composure for his goal. 

Alessandra - 6/10 - Played well, always tries hard & the fans showed their appreciation when he came off.

Hemmings - 5/10 - Gave 100% again. Can’t help thinking Stead is not the partner he needs.

Stead - 5/10 - Showed what being a skipper is all about yesterday. He is not able to last 90 minutes with the work he puts in. She should have been brought off after 70 minutes for his own sake & for that of the team.

Evina - 6/10 - Great performance, all round. 

Turley - 7/10 - Best free transfer for Notts, he battled with things. 

Ward - 5/10 - Bit of a spare part at times. 

Tootle - 5/10 - Did well, but looked awkward at the back and made errors which he resolved.

Boldewjin - 7/10 - He's in great form and grows in confidence when he has the ball.

Hewitt - 5/10 - Scores an easy goal and becomes overrated again.

Milsom - 5.5/10 - Typical performance, lucky strike with where the ball went but he did well.

Alessandra - 7/10 - Very food player on the day, he lifts Notts on days like Saturday. 

Hemmings - 6/10 - Good performance, he battled for chances but was more a player to help others.

Stead - 8/10 - Fans that call him don't understand how badly he's missed when he doesn't play.

Fitzsimmons - 6/10 - Getting to back to what we know but there's still much further he can go. 

Evina - 6/10 - Good performance and played well. 

Turley - 7/10 - He looks to be a great capture, how on earth did Notts manage to unearth him?  

Ward - 5/10 - Average but a good type of average. 

Tootle - 5/10 - He looks a little unfit to me but he did okay.

Boldewjin - 7/10 - Impressive and very hard working.

Hewitt - 5.5/10 - He played better going forward and passed the ball nicely.

Milsom - 5/10 - Average and very unimpressed by how standard he looks in midfield. 

Alessandra - 6/10 - A little overdoing of the work required at times but he played well.

Hemmings - 6/10 - Worked well, nothing flash but he did have two good chances.

Stead - 8/10 - The leader of the pitch and majority of play, we look better when he does.
