It should be an interesting season. I think Liverpool will win it again. 2 teams qualify for the Champions League. It's hard to say who will push Liverpool. Chelsea could be the new kinds on the block. They have a good team.

Bristol Academy Ladies vs Chelsea is the stand out game from the opening league games. An early test of Chelsea's title credentials. Bristol qualified for next year's CL so they will be a tough nut to crack.

Bristol City vs Notts County this Friday, will you be in attendance? How many travelling magpies do you think will make the trip? Notts have sold out their allocated tickets, yet we can still purchase on the day! What will the overall attendance be?

Dougie Freedman confident Josh Vela will benefit from loan spell at Notts County

JOSH Vela went headlong into a relegation scrap with Notts County yesterday with a glowing recommendation from his manager at Wanderers.

Dougie Freedman has sent the combative young midfielder out to help his old Crystal Palace team-mate Shaun Derry, who is trying to lift the Magpies out of the bottom four in League One.

And the Scot has no doubt that it is an arrangement that can suit both parties perfectly.

“Whether they are at the bottom of the league or not isn’t my issue,” he said.

“I have to think of the club and this is a chance to get Josh playing some proper league football.

“He’ll be in the trenches, so let’s see what he’s made of.

“This decision is all about his development because if I was thinking of myself then I’d keep him around to sit in the stands, or on the bench, and try and get him games here or there.

“But where Josh is right now he needs to show he can handle games, so the best thing for our football club and for the lad himself is to get out there and see how he handles himself.”

Notts County Football Club is delighted to announce that youth team duo Brad McGowan and Harry Andrews have been offered professional contracts.

Both players experienced two impressive seasons in the Under-18s and were rewarded with a place in manager Shaun Derry’s first team squad for the new campaign.

McGowan was this season’s youth team skipper and led by example with a series of top showings in defence for both the Under-18s and the development squad.

Andrews is rated as one of the best goalkeepers in the North East Youth Alliance and built upon a strong first season with a collection of confident displays.

Good? I personally don't rate Harry Andrews, he's considerably poorer than Liam Mitchell in my opinion. However, who knows with time? McGowan looks quality from what I have seen. I think both can learn more, perhaps even rewrite opinions.

This fixture has been changed at very short notice from Saturday to Good Friday.

This has caused a bit of a backlash from fans who have paid for train tickets, hotels etc. for the Saturday and now have to lose money, I must say it seems really unfair on the travelling fans.

I can understand it from a football point of view because we are playing on Easter Monday and it will give more to time recover but the clubs should have sorted this a long time ago not now when people have made arrangement.

What do others think? Has anyone on here had to change their plans?

what are the downsides of supporting notts this season for you and what are the things we have to learn from?

i think the downsides are very obvious, for me anyway.

1. dwindling crowds
2. very poor form
3. little sign of togetherness
4. hanging onto ck for so long
5. not managing to win games we should have done

the things i feel the club should learn is to appreciate all support, making the most of the great support we do have. dont approve signings where theres a risk the player will be injured the majority of the time. make sure management and players work together! derry needs to keep up with his togetherness. judge players by how they perform, show desire and not what level of experience they have.

A date no football fan will ever forget. 96 Liverpool fans left home and never returned. Their reputations were attacked by the establishment. They were called hooligans. If the establishment thought they could get away with it, they were wrong. They picked on the wrong city. 25 years later justice is finally being done. Reputations have been restored, not that they were ever sullied in football fans's eyes. We knew the truth. They'll never walk alone........

JFT96.

Huddersfield players wasting time as early as the 15th minute.Ref warns them but they carry on,result-booking.Goalie error!I wish opposition teams made it this easy every week.

Our Grandson George is on holiday at the moment with his mum and dad and they have been bowling, unfortunately he has dropped a bowling ball on his dad's foot, the trouble is his dad is supposed to be running the London marathon next weekend. Ooops.

After watching the Derry interview on M player and Ball has been sent back. Derry talked about his not getting on with his rehab very well as well. When questioned about attitude and commitment he changed the question to ability. Easily side stepped, but sent a big signal that Ball hasn't been playing Ball as he should during his recovery!!!

I've just noticed that it was @sadlad's birthday on the 11th.Belated birthday wishes to one of our valued opposition fans.Sadlad contributes regularly and does a great league one round up -so I hope you had a good day  @sadlad.I also see that today is @iansloan's birthday.Where are you?Hope you have a good day.

Going to ground later to get a couple of tickets, to see Notts ladies v Arsenal. 6.00 and 3.00 concessions. You Pies

Well here he is, Notts County's newest supporter, and our lucky mascot too, loved every minute of it, he screamed his head off all the match , complained his hands were sore when it was over and he's demanded I take him to Oldham in a couple of weeks as well.

The only downside was that he was rather upset they (Nearly) didn't sing the "Wheel Barrow Song" (I'd been teaching it to him for a few days!) But it finally got sung a couple of minutes from the end so he was really happy and loud.

Oh and I treated him to the new barcode shirt too, he hasn't taken it off since and is still wearing it now (Sunday evening!)

The match got off to the worst possible start for the Rams with Blackpool scoring straight from the kick off.Rams equalised in the 3rd minute and went on to win comfortably 3 -1.Rams had 1 player booked,Blackpool 5 Judge being one. There was also a protest from the Blackpool supporters against their board. With QPR losing at Blackburn Rams move back to 3rd.Leicester were hammered 4 -1 at home by Brighton and that lot drew at home 3 - 3 with Wednesday and drop to 10th 5 points outside the play off places.
