Favourite L2 Championship Winning Player?

The squad of the 2010 Championship winning League Two side had many players who, stood out as firm fan favourites. I personally think this highlights if you're a serious promotion candidate because it shows the depth in strength, also everyone seemed like to like a wide range of mixed players. Since being relegated a popular discussion point, has been 'Why don't we have players like we did in 2010' and this, in turn made me think about the above question.

Who was your favourite League Two championship winning player and why?

Russell Hoult, Kasper Schmeichel and Kevin Pilkington.

Hayden Hollis, Sol Campbell, Stephen Hunt, Jamie Clapham, John Thompson, Graeme Lee, Mike Edwards and Brendon Maloney.

Matt Richie, Matthew Hamshaw, Rickey Ravenhill, Neal Bishop, Ben Davies, Johnnie Jackson, Daniel Jones, Alex Troke and Nathan Fox

Lee Hughes, Sean Canham, Karl Hawley, Ben Fairclough, Luke Rodgers, Craig Westcarr, Delroy Facey and Ade Akinbiyi.

So who was it?

Lee Hughes hands down because he would celebrate with us fans and his goals just lifted everyone.

Kasper Schmeichel absolute legend!

Ben Davies, his passion burst through the shirt he worn and he was a great player for us. We should not have sold him on so easily!

He's calm at the back, Steady Eddie!

Neal Bishop, top work rate and he galvanised what 100% meant in terms of effort, yet I admit the squad did have many other candidates.

there was not a player i did not like, though lee hughes, neal bishop and ricky ravenhill stood out for me.

the thing i liked most about ricky ravenhill was his ability to just cover every inch of the pitch, if it was passing, tacking or chipping in with assists he just worked as hard as those around him and he would be mine.

Ben Davies. What a shame he was sold on so cheaply. I wonder if we'd be where we are now with class like him on board.

I liked Matt Richie, he looked a quality player even with league two. I also loved Lee Hughes, who just knew where to be at the right time and moment in order to score.

Mike Edwards at the back, his usual calm self and a brilliant overhead kick against Darlington

Johnnie Jackson in midfield, absolute class, was minutes ahead of everyone bar Lee Hughes. We haven't had anyone of that quality for a long time, pity he & his missus got home sick and moved back to London at the first opportunity.

How could you not like Lee Hughes as a player? You knew you were always going to score with him on the pitch

Hughes, Bishop, Schmeichel & Davies - all stood out for varying reasons. If we could find 4 players anywhere near their calibre then we'd be in a far better and more hopeful, optimistic place than we are currently!

Hughes is, quite simply, one of the best players I have ever witnessed in a Notts shirt in over 50 years. Without exception, the most clinical finisher, bar none. An absolute honour and privilege to have seen him perform.

I was always a fan of Bishop due to his heart on his sleeve performances. I see Noble as being this kind of player, assuming he can cut down on the unnecessary red cards!

I think under Moniz's guidance he'll reel in the attitude that gets him into the book, but he does have the fire we need right now.

Hands down Ben Davies, his quality set pieces are something we still miss.

Lee Hughes & Ben Davies for me, and Neal Bishop too.

Hughes and Kasper.

Hughes was a top finisher I loved watching him scoring goals and he was a real crowd pleaser.

Kasper was probably the best goalie I've seen since watching Notts and now plies his trade in the Premiership which goes to prove what a great goalie he is.

Ben Davies, no player smiled like him and no player looked as down if we wasn't, emotion drove Notts on and his play inspired creative football.
