League Cup 1st round - Huddersfield (A)

Featured Replies

I reckon Huddersfield will struggle this season. I have tipped them to go down. They were well beaten by Hull yesterday.

I reckon we'll make a few changes for this game. Huddersfield will probably do the same.

3-2 to Notts AET. Campbell hat trick.

Just picture us putting on a convincing win against them, if we keep them at bay, I do not see why we cant.

If the worst comes, just play for penalties. It may not be the fa cup but its worthwhile keeping within the contest. I think we may see a little glimpse in what this Notts squad is all about.

When people ask what 'American Pie' is about, they're missing the point. The song isn't about the lines themselves - it's about what is between the lines. The song is about what isn't there.

I'd maybe go 4-4-2 with this one with stead and spencer looking for goals against there old club and a few changes to the lineup to give some key players a rest for a very important game on friday

Carroll
Hewitt
audel
Hollis/McKenzie?
sharpe
velencik
thompson
Burke? if fit he was on the bench on saturday so i guess he's getting there?
jenner
Spencer
stead

And i think 0-1 Notts Stead to score

I'll be interested in the line up and performance of Notts while listening to The Rams banana skin match away at Portsmouth.

Is this where the bubble bursts?

If we can play how we did against Stevenage, yet shore up the defence I think it will be tight. For our sakes, I hope the defence withstands pressure and puts on a good performance.

I still stand by my comments made in the PONcast when the cup draw was made, it'll be a good test, one whereby we will know just how much strength our squad has. I am not concerned overly about the injuries or suspension but I hope to see a little mix up within the squad, save some legs for Friday (which is more important).

Personally, I think we could narrowly win this.

I'm just hoping for a good performance that's all, result here doesn't overly bother me but its what we do on the pitch which does.

Yeah, we will get to see what depth we really have. I would start a few of the main players, no Jenner tho.

He seemed to be struggling, I notice how some fans are calling him but he looked unfit to me. We need to give them chance, this will be that time to allow someone else to come into the squad. You know? I fancy our chances of winning. A repeat performance would be great.

Oh oh oh ohhhhh, everywhere where we go, watching super County putting on a show!

i would give either mckenzie or hollis the nod today, @nottsfever is right.

we can always put players down, as how do we expect them to lift themselves? i think we should start two strikers because stead will most likely struggle alone. you pies!

Notts starting XI - Carroll, Swerts, Sprockel, Audel, Bennett, Aborah, Noble, Thompson, Jenner, De Silva, Stead.
Notts subs - Loach, Hollis, Spencer, Valencic, Snijders, Campbell, Burke.

Huddersfield XI - Murphy, Smith, Davidson, Whitehead, Miller, Cranie, Wallace, Bunn, Wells, Dempsey, Lynch.
Huddersfield subs - Allinson, Hudson, Hogg, Butterfield, Hiwula, Hammill, Hanson.

Thoughts?

Give them chance to settle with the formation and tactics, yet its a bit daft a power cut has meant there is a delay. Lets hope it dont get in the way of the kick off!

1-0 Down...

Sounded like a good goal but a poor one to concede. Before that, it sounded like Notts had played very well, matching Huddersfield and I just hope this doesn't blow the confidence of the players. We need to try to get level before half time, if we can then it's still all to play for. If we don't, I have this feeling it will only put the pressure onto us.

Here's a corner, lets see what we can do with it.

1-1 half time Nobles goal sounded good. Notts playing well.
