Family football rivalries

I mentioned in another thread that my brother was (sadly deceased now) a Fword fan after he jumped on the bandwagon in the 70s I’ve always been a Notts fan and we had a lot of good natured arguments about our teams.

Who else has a relative who supports another team? And how do you get on?

By pure number of supporters in the family we are actually a Forest family ???? but have a few Mansfield, My family is Notts County and a few odd supporters of Liverpool and Man U (glory supporters who have never attended game). Always a good topic of conversation at Christmas :)

I am on my own, my folks passed away and I don't have children.

Both my parents supported Notts, they met each other at Meadow Lane and used to live about 5 minutes from the ground.

When people ask what 'American Pie' is about, they're missing the point. The song isn't about the lines themselves - it's about what is between the lines. The song is about what isn't there.

Where did they live @AmericanPie? I was brought up very close to the ground.

Well obviously my dad supports Derby, yet I don't think there's any rivalry there - I wish them well.

My mums side of the family, which I have nothing to do with are mixed between Forest and Mansfield. One of my cousins supports Mansfield and I hate them because of his silly attitude. Seriously I'm certain nobody who meets him could get on with him, he's so far up his own arse it's unbelievable. I haven't seen him for years, but if I did I would gladly rub in how well Notts have been doing. Whilst asking how the relegation went... ????

A little bit bitter but I despise this ars**ole.

One of your cousins is a Man Utd fan @Chris, although he never went when I worked with him.

My Dad supports Forest, not avidly but keeps an eye out for them, my Brother is a Sheff Weds supporter, one of my brother in-laws is a Newcastle fan, a nephew is a Newcastle fan although he has no idea what a football is let alone anything else, another nephew is a Leicester fan.

I love winding them all up tbh, mainly good hearted but it can get semi serious with my brother though (probably more to do with him being my brother rather than anything else)

My mum and (late) dad both met whilst following Notts County, out of us 3 kids, only me left now following Notts. However, i do my grandchildren along, and my youngest Harvey, follows Derby with his Dad, and Notts with me.

My sister married a F word fan and so their 2 children became f word fans, but nowadays married with families of their own, only attend if they get free tickets from their place of employment.  So not really a proper supporter eh.

Didn't really discuss family rivalry.

No rivalries but plenty of banter.

Like @DeadlyDennis I have friends I joke a round with, they take the mickey and what not. My families Notts through and through, and others don't follow the sport.

"Strive not to be a success, but rather to be of value."

There is some friendly rivarly within my family but its all just banter, nobody actually wishes the others team fails or doesn't achieve. Most of mine are Notts fans too, so the others are out numbered.

Oh oh oh ohhhhh, everywhere where we go, watching super County putting on a show!
