A big fat congratulations to December's manager of the month - and not least to the team who got the results. Massive credit goes to everyone involved!

Here's Neal Ardley, with exactly the sort of face you pull when you receive a Christmas present you've no idea what to do with but still want to appear grateful :D

He says it'll end up in the shed next to his other awards. I think that's where I'd leave the tacky thing too!

Haha, I asked Neal if he wanted one of the prints I did of him. He took ages to reply, I prompted it by saying he didn't have to take one if he didn't like it. He then joked about his wife having pictures up, but none of them his.

Sounds a bit modest.

Good to see the manager get the award.

its good for neal, hes done well and rotating the squad a bit has paid off.

just the thing we need to continue our form, it gives people a sense of belief to win something. I know people say its a curse but not if you work hard and stay focused.

Will he claim a second this season? If he does, it would only mean good things for Notts.

Finally! Who was the last Notts manager to receive a manager of the month award? John Sheridan?? Ricardo Moniz???

Posted

It's deserved, let's just hope he can push on from here and keep the majority of the supporter base happy.

Neal Ardley needs to be pushing the squad and himself to get further awards, its a sign of things that are going right. He can play the award down, but things like this will put the whole of the club together.

Congrats!

Kevin Nolan won it back in 2017 when we went top of League 2, that was the season we finished in the play-offs.

Here's to hoping under Ardley we finish there again, but with a better outcome!

It would be nice if we could look back on this season, and say this is where promotion really started for us. Well done to Neal Ardley!

It's a bit of recognition for doing something right, Neal Ardley doesn't seem the type to let it go to his head.

@menzinho Aye, I had forgotten about Kevin Nolan. Now I seem to recall people suggesting it was a curse for the club.

Just like any award, it shows you're doing right. I trust Neal Ardley to focus on the right things.

Neal has had a rocky road to date, it's good that he has earned some praise and I hope it's not the last for him at Notts.

One thing some might have missed, is the fact that this could be the turning point for Neal Ardley. If he and the squad continues their hard work, more awards could come and the season emerges as one which could see Notts regain their FL status.

We can only hope, but well done to Ardley.

Congratulations to Neal Ardley, it's good to see the club and manager recognised like this.

He's like most stubborn managers, but I am glad for him. Some of the comments haven't been fair, those what can't explain why they wanted rid of him. I hope he uses the award and them to push Notts forward.

Posted

I'm pleased for him, I doubt we'll see another Manager of the Month award come Notts way but I feel confident the season will finish better than expected.

Posted

He might get another IF Notts can get enough form to go 2nd or dare I say it 1st.

I don't expect it.

It's just good to see the manager earn some praise.

It's a positive sign, I am pleased for Neal Ardley but I think he needs to keep it up. The slightest slip and some will pipe up again.

Well done to Neal Ardley, the award was well deserved I feel.

I’m not the biggest fan of these types of accolades, they really mean nothing, yes the form is good when he won it.

Its great PR work for the club, but something I see as taking away from the focus.
